Finally they are ready, the Racetour cylinder kits from MB Developments!

This morning we received the first delivery of the Lambretta Race-Tour cylinder kits achieved. The complete Lambretta tuning kits are available for both the small and the large Lambretta engine blocks.

 

The standard sizes we have in stock are the 64 mm Bore with 190 cc and the 69 mm Bore with 220 cc. On request, we can also order the kit with the legendary 205 cc displacement (67 mm bore).

In principle, we also get any other borehole from MB Developments. For example with the forged race-tour pistons in: 64.5, 65, 68, 70 and 71mm diameter.

The kits are Made in the UK, and Mr. Bee has incorporated his more than 20 years of tuning experience into the development. An all-round carefree package has come out. The kits can be used with carburetors from 18 - 35 mm and all exhaust systems be driven.

The piston-controlled cylinders have the carburettor on the left-hand side, so they can be driven with the standard air filter box. The kits also offer the perfect starting point for every Group 4 racer.

MB has tested engines with Plug & Play built-in cylinders that put 20 bhp into the roller with 19 lbs ft of torque, perfect for fast road touring.

The kits contain the coated Race-Tour aluminum cylinder, the forged Race-Tour piston, a centered cylinder head, the MB cylinder stud set, seals, small parts and detailed instructions.

Classic Race at the Nürburgring scooter race

Last weekend the 19th run of the “Cologne Course” from MSC Porz took place.

We from SCOOTER CENTER TEAM were again represented in large numbers.

After the final preparations and joint inviting of all the equipment and the racing scooters on Saturday morning, it was finally around 14:30 p.m. towards the ring. Once there, we met many familiar faces. The large CONTINENTAL TENT, the grill, the racing scooters etc. were quickly unloaded and set up.

After the technical acceptance, transponder assembly and the legendary driver briefing, the final preparations were made on the scooters.

Luckily got that SCOOTER CENTER TEAM still the box no. 25. So the very rainy Saturday evening with a barbecue under the tent, music and the typical gasoline conversations was a complete success for those present from the Classic Scooter racing scene.

It wouldn't be the ring if it weren't for rain and sun on a weekend, an old Nürburgring rabbit once told me. The same thing happened on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. with the first coffee it was still quite humid and punctually at 10:00 a.m. for training it was nice and dry.

Almost all of our 12 scooters got through more or less well, but even our “T-Roller” was still used.

Fortunately, a lot of spectators came to the ring. Many familiar faces from the scooter scene were present. Overall, drivers from all parts of Germany but also from AT, GB, BE, FR and even Canada were represented.

At about 14:00 the start finally took place, the one with a
- 2nd place in regularity,
- the fastest "girl scooter" and
- with 12 scooters from 70 starters, on our part
was generally very satisfactory. We are already looking forward to the next race.

Scooter race on the Nürburgring 2009

Since 2004, regular scooter races have taken place on the Nürburgring again.

We owe this opportunity to the MSC Porz, who offers a “regularity run” for classic scooters as part of the Cologne course. For most of us that means: evenly full throttle! ;-)

The SCOOTER CENTER has been represented by the racing team every year since 2004.

On Saturday was heavy rain in the dry SCOOTER CENTER Box grilled and screwed in the paddock.
We were able to greet many friends and familiar faces again. The hard core was swept out of the box at 1:30 - after all, the first training session was scheduled for 10:40 on Sunday.

 

Sunday came up with the best weather. During training we had 20 minutes to determine the fastest drivers and then to determine the starting grid. In the first row of the grid there were 1 starters from SCOOTER CENTER Team (Harry Barlow & Christian Schneider).

If the weather was fine, repairs and maintenance work could be carried out in the open air after the first training session. After the SCK grill had given everything again at noon, the race started.

The Green Hell took its toll: of 65 starters, only 45 made it to the finish (cancellations, no accidents)

The SCOOTER CENTER Team was able to record several successes:

Place 2 Christian Schneider (Regularity evaluation)
Tanya Kluger - fastest woman in the field ;-)

The next appointment at the Nürburgring for classic scooters is September 13 “Renoldus Sprint”

The TS1 is back

TS1After a long back and forth between Gilardoni and AF Rayspeed about the future of the legendary TS1 cylinder, it was probably the precarious economic situation that led to the TS1 being reissued.

Jimmy's Lambretta (Quadrophenia) auctioned

The most famous Lambretta of all goes to Aberdeen.
The Li150 Serie3 was driven by Phil Daniels in the movie Quadrophenia as Jimmy Cooper.

One or the other will now say: “Huh? Didn't she go over the cliffs? ”

Tony Cochrane bought the undamaged Li150 from the legendary film Quadrophenia for no less than 36.000 British pounds. This is the highest price ever paid for a Lambretta in England.

bgm Lambretta crankshafts

bgm11059-04In the bgm Lambretta cure waves it is the best HPC (high primary compression) racing shafts.

This shaft has the standard stroke of 58 mm and the standard connecting rod length of 107 mm. This makes the shaft a direct replacement for all Lambretta series 1-3 shafts (with the exception of the TV 175 series 1, 2 and 3).

The balancing of this crankshaft is specially designed for the piston weight of the pistons used on the small engine blocks (up to 64 mm bore).

All bgm Shafts are forged. Both the crank webs and the connecting rod are forged. The connecting rod is also polished.

The final preparations are in full swing for our ultimate switch scooter meeting!

We will offer you a colorful, sophisticated program!

Starting on Friday: We open the door and gate 15: 00h. You can have your tent on one 1A campground build up and recover from the exertions of the journey to the chilled location until the start of the night at around 22:00 pm. Washes the dust of the street with fresh prepared cocktails or cold beer from the throat and strengthens you with delicious Pizza for the dance evening.

It continues on Saturday! A continental one breakfast will be served to you until 11 a.m., afterwards it goes straight to a colorful mix Program Come on:

from approx. 11: 00h (2 hours are set) there is one Corso ride instead of. It will lead you through the beautiful Cologne foothills to our shop. At the request of many individuals, we call it "Butterfahrt". : o) There is of course the possibility to do a little purchase and have a look at our new building! Then it goes again through the beautiful BM-GV-NE landscape back to Pumpkin Island!

From around 12:00 p.m. until around 16:00 p.m. two (2!) P4 test stands available and searched: the fastest scooter in different classes! Of course, winners will be awarded!

If the weather and the number of participants are right, the Barbarians will be there from 16:00 p.m. Fungame spectacle delivered that will remind of the old days ...

If you still haven't had enough, you can take your vehicle on the custom show exhibit. It takes place from 18:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m. We are looking for best in 8 categories! Here, too, the winners will be awarded a prize!

Nürburgring 2008 Cologne course scooter race at the Nürburgring

Scooter races on the Nürburgring - Historic scooters on the Grand Prix track!

That was on May 3rd and 4th, 2008 Scooter Center team once again at the racing highlight of the year for historic scooters - the 18th Cologne course of the MSC-Porz.

This traditionally takes place at the beginning of May on the Grand Prix track of the Nürburgring. After the technical inspection and driver briefing on Saturday
Team 667 from Düsseldorf showed a video in their box that was recorded in 2006. Really a great film - thrilling and funny, a little history and a lot of racing flair.

Sunday morning we went to the racetrack for the first training session - the fastest drivers quickly emerged and the Scooter-Center team was able to put 3 drivers on the front row.

At 14.30 p.m. the call for the scooter class came!
Christian Schneider (Scooter Center) and our 2 English drivers (Team Scooter Center / per porting),
Harry Barlow and Andy Beadnell stood side by side in front of the rest of the field of 55 scooter riders.

After a rapid start, the material-devastating battle on the Grand Prix track began - in every speed class every place was lost
fought. After 10 rounds the winner was certain: Our tuning legend Harry Barlow from the team Scooter Center / Pro Porting won ahead of Jonas Junge
from Kürten and Andy Beadnell.

A fantastic racing weekend with unbelievably good weather, many old acquaintances and new friends - a complete success for us!
Definitely again next year!
