News on Vespa topics

logoJean-Yves Pignal started in Paris on April 1st and will be on his Travel over 10 months to Vietnam.
And that with a 30 year old Vespa TS.

The SCOOTER CENTER accompanies him: His scooter was technically based on this trip with parts from the SCOOTER CENTER Program prepared. It goes without saying that the best quality and reliability are very important on this trip ... Jean Yves, among others, has decided to cross the Kundjerab Pass at an altitude of 4.762 meters.

big5277The original T5 exhaust from Piaggio is back!

"The classic, not a bad choice for the tuning cylinder either."

The original exhaust of the PX / T5 models is unbeatable in terms of quality. Very thick sheet metal and neat workmanship justify the higher price compared to the replica systems.

It is also interesting how well the original exhaust performs in a direct comparison of performance. Compared to a hand-made resonance system, it lacks up to 4 kW of peak power, but it is in the Bandwidth absolute favorite. If you want to build a touring engine that will drive from here to Timbuktu, you will hardly be able to get past the original exhaust. In many cases, maximum ground clearance and very low consumption are factors that should not be underestimated.

Conclusion: The classic, not a bad choice for the tuning cylinder either.

Functionality:

Silicone-coated heating wires warm the tires slowly, and therefore gently, to a temperature of 175 ° F (78-84 ° C). The tires have reached their optimum operating temperature after approx. 30 minutes.

Scooter races on the Nürburgring - Historic scooters on the Grand Prix track!

That was on May 3rd and 4th, 2008 Scooter Center team once again at the racing highlight of the year for historic scooters - the 18th Cologne course of the MSC-Porz.

This traditionally takes place at the beginning of May on the Grand Prix track of the Nürburgring. After the technical inspection and driver briefing on Saturday
Team 667 from Düsseldorf showed a video in their box that was recorded in 2006. Really a great film - thrilling and funny, a little history and a lot of racing flair.
Interested parties can order the film here: http://team667.sideclick.de/main.html

Sunday morning we went to the racetrack for the first training session - the fastest drivers quickly emerged and the Scooter-Center team was able to put 3 drivers on the front row.

At 14.30 p.m. the call for the scooter class came!
Christian Schneider (Scooter Center) and our 2 English drivers (Team Scooter Center / per porting),
Harry Barlow and Andy Beadnell stood side by side in front of the rest of the field of 55 scooter riders.

After a rapid start, the material-devastating battle on the Grand Prix track began - in every speed class every place was lost
fought. After 10 rounds the winner was certain: Our tuning legend Harry Barlow from the team Scooter Center / Pro Porting won ahead of Jonas Junge
from Kürten and Andy Beadnell.

A fantastic racing weekend with unbelievably good weather, many old acquaintances and new friends - a complete success for us!
Definitely again next year!

Expected to be available from 25.04.08/XNUMX/XNUMX.

The trip to Antwerp was worth it again this year! Great scooters, a parts market and a really relaxed atmosphere make you look forward to next year. You can find the pictures from the booth on booth appearance of us and the Lambretta Club Germany here. At this point, a big thank you to Angelique & Markus for the great cooperation!

We have decided to put on another series of this ingenious exhaust system.

[inspic=98,left,fullscreen,thumb][inspic=96,left,fullscreen,thumb] [inspic=95,left,fullscreen,thumb][inspic=97,leftclear,fullscreen,thumb] [inspic=99,leftclear,fullscreen,thumb]
[inspic = 59, left, fullscreen, thumb] Simply brilliant! By opening the screw by half a turn, the brake line can be bled in seconds. The constant opening and closing between pumping processes is no longer necessary. This means that one person can bleed the brake system. The annual brake fluid change only takes a few minutes.

[inspic = 60, left, fullscreen, thumb] [inspic = 78, leftclear, fullscreen, thumb]

The spring-loaded ball and the O-ring sealed thread guarantee an absolutely clean working process without brake fluid dripping onto painted components.

The main body of the bleeder screw remains firmly in the brake calliper, so that the brake calliper can no longer be damaged by the usual “open-close” during bleeding.

The vent screw has been tested by the TüV and can be used in all brake systems (including ABS). In addition to Formula 1, this useful system is already used in aviation and shipping.
