Open Day SC September 2023

Our second #OpenDaySC this year was actually planned as a small end to the season. (see Open Day April here) With the fantastic sunshine continuing, there is fortunately no question of the end of the season.

In addition to our Open Day classics such as free use of the test stand, the large private and SC parts market, there were also some new program items.

Here are the highlights, exhibitors, scooters and visitors

Vespa V98

This Vespa V98 was at the Open Day for the second time and on its own. When have you seen this before? And then almost in the wild...

The Vespa 98 was the first mass-produced Vespa from Piaggio. It was built between 1946 and 1947 and is divided into four series: V.98/1 and V.98/2 and from 1947 V.98/3 and V.98/4, although the modifications were insignificant. The V98 has a 98 cc engine, a three-speed gearbox and a top speed of 60 km/h. The leg shield is evenly curved. There is no main stand and for parking it is leaned on an outrigger that protrudes from the rear running board on the left and right.

Veybach Racing – Custom Paint Ciao

One of the numerous highlights was the premiere of Dirk Hövelmann's Ciao, which tells us:

“Only through the support of the entire team, (my business partners @pulverdesigngibesch, @hapebikes, @scootercenter and my friend @rolfbubmann) the project was finally presented just in time for #OpenDaySC!”

All details will follow soon here in the blog!

SC program

bgm team

The bgm team was available to answer questions about new products and developments all day long. And not just about our own brand but also about the latest highlights like this CMV 244, the Vape ignitions, the bgm Big box exhaust algae and much more.

Photo box

During the Photo box Around 50 classic cars and their drivers gathered. The majority - as expected - Vespas. Followed by 12 Piaggio mopeds, four automatics, four mopeds, three Lambretta and two Royal Alloy. All of them will be presented in detail in the blog and the pictures will be available for download.

Photo box in the Scooterist Weekender

Test stand

Auf dem test things were similarly lively. Arno and Roland made their debut in the role of P4 operators and did a great job. Despite everything, over 50 runs in 5 hours left my ears ringing.

Basti (Bastian Koch) delivered the most powerful Vespa with his VNB powered by a BFA360: 56 HP!
Meisi (Marc Meis) has parked the most powerful Lambretta on the roll. Marc rebuilt a Targa twin from scratch with the components of his choice and delivered 40 hp.

The most powerful Ciao delivered a good 10 hp and came from René Klein.

Merchandising stand

The SC merchandise stand and we have adopted the photo box from our Scooterist Weekender from last year as an integral part of the upcoming Open Days.

Our new #RealScooterist shirts and of course the posters were very popular when it came to merchandise. A portion of the proceeds goes to “Halfway through the bar”. Greetings go to Everell!

Wittgenborn EST

Race report Wittgenborn

After the end of the summer break, the two- and four-stroke sounds of the EST finally started again. The penultimate race was in Hessen at the Vogelsbergring. Most of the favorites in the classes were determined. But the pursuers still had every chance of getting 100 points by the end of the season. The conditions for the competitions were ideal. The weather was raging on Friday night, so that ideal racing conditions prevailed in time for qualifying. And the times were incredibly fast. The best time of the day was: 51.232 in the K6 driven by Galeasso.

Four stroke sounds of the EST

The results of the weekend sorted by class:

K1 – Rookies by Scooter Attack

The first race of the day ended very early for second-placed Herrmann. Immediately after the pre-start, he had to push his scooter back into the pits due to a technical defect and was unable to start. Urban on pole had a clear run. However, he could not take the race casually. Vanore on two took aim at him. For third place, there was an exciting duel between Bechert and Kienzle. In lap 3, the race had to be red-flagged for a short time after Braun fell. And so it got exciting again at the restart, because the lead that had been built up was gone. At the top, the old positioning immediately returned. Urban ahead of Vanore and Bechert.

In the second race, Herrmann was able to start again after an engine swap. But after a short time it was called a technical failure again. Urban at the top had almost no competition. Vanore couldn't quite keep up in terms of speed. Kienzle came in 3rd place. And drew the field of three lap after lap on the way to the checkered flag. In the end, Urban won the daily ranking of the Rookies by Scooter-Attack with two faultless races.

Daily classification class 1 – Pitbike by Scooter-Attack

  1. #90 Marcus Urban 50pts
  2. #54 Federico Fanore 40 pts
  3. #88 Frank Bechert 29 pts.

Class 2 – by Deutscher Bauservice

Danish power at the SuperSport. Pedersen in first place followed by Ebeling and Sperling. Pedersen was able to pull out a lead. Ebeling looked best until the end to finish second. At times it went back and forth between the field of three. However, Ebeling received a time penalty for overtaking on lap 1 when yellow and therefore had to give up second place to Thönnissen. Sparrow came in 12rd place.

Pedersen was able to take the lead in the second race as well. But Thönnissen wanted to have a say in winning and was able to take the lead. As in the first race, the field of pursuers was close together. Drath and Sperling lurked behind Pedersen. In the field of four, every mistake was punished mercilessly. In any case, Pedersen put a lot of pressure on Thönnissen. He held up well. In the end, Pedersen was able to cleverly outbrake Thönnissen and thus take first place

Daily classification class 2 - SuperSport by Deutscher Bauservice

  1. #551 Emil Pedersen 50 pts.
  2. #43 Philipp Thönnissen 36 pts.
  3. #265 Patrick Ebeling 33 pts.

Class 3 - Expert by Scooter-Attack

In the Experts, Schnelle started the first race the best. Lukas was second, followed by Kovac. Everything looked good for a Schnelle win. The lead was right and the speed was great too. However, on lap 2, Schnelle fell directly in the long start-finish corner and had to end the race prematurely. Lukas at the top, followed by Kovac and Schmitt came in 5rd place. Nothing changed in this positioning until the finish line. Lukas drove a deserved victory in front of Kovac.

In the last race it got really uncertain again. The rain forecast said rain in the tenth round. Close your eyes and hope to drive 15 laps without a drop. Due to the absence of Schnelle, the path was clear for Lukas. At least 4th place and he can make the sack in the championship and become an early champion in the Expert. And that's how Lukas started. Away in front with top speed. Kovac struggled behind, but couldn't get within striking distance. 3rd place, like in the first race, went to Schmitt. Lukas crashed on lap 7 and gave the lead to Kovac. Schmitt was also able to move up to 2nd place. The pilots chased each other. But it didn't go the full distance. Punctually after 75% race distance and 12 laps it started to dribble. Before the asphalt could turn into soft soap, the race control ended the race and declared Kovac the early winner ahead of Schmitt and Lukas.

Day class 3 - Expert by Scooter-Attack

  1. #45 Denis Kovac 45 pts
  2. #111 Andreas Lukas 41 pts.
  3. #33 Carsten Schmitt 36 pts.

Class 4 - Supramatic & BigBore

The first three starters at the BigBore's promised two great races. Ong in the lead against pursuers Monaya and Lukas. Ong had to do everything to keep Monaya in check behind him. Lukas couldn't quite keep up with the pace of the two. Monaya showed a lot of calmness and arranged Ong. ´With excess speed we passed him on the inside on the long start-finish. Ong then had to be careful not to be overtaken by Lukas as well.

The second race led Monaya from the start. Ong in 2nd place in chase mode, who was in turn chased by Lukas. Round after round the image manifested itself. Monaya was able to increase the distance bit by bit. The same applied to the gap between second and third place.

Day rating class 4 - Supramatic & BigBore

  1. #12 Stephane Monaya 50 pts
  2. #169 Yannik Ong 40 pts
  3. #738 Andreas Lukas 32 pts.

Class 5 - PitBike Stock by Scooter-Attack

There was a little surprise right at the start with the pit bikes. Gras had to give up his lead to F. Schweitzer on the first lap. J. Schweitzer came third, closely followed by Fritzsch. A great four-way battle. All pilots were only separated by a tire width and so a change of position could happen at any time. F. Schweitzer closed well, keeping grass behind him. F. Schweitzer was the first to cross the finish line ahead of Gras and Fritzsch.

In the second race, F. Schweitzer led the field. Gras and J. Schweitzer on two and three. In round 6, Gras could catch F. Schweitzer. And so the leading trio of Gras, F. Schweitzer and J. Schweitzer drove lap after lap towards the checkered flag. In the end, F. Schweitzer won ahead of Gras and J. Schweitzer.

Day rating class 5 - PitBike Stock by Scooter-Attack

  1. #186 Florian Schweitzer 50 pts.
  2. #221 Henning Grass 40 pts.
  3. #54 Julian Schweitzer 29 pts.

Grade 6 - GP Open

By far the fullest field was this race in class 6. The guest starters from Italy showed special class and made it quite difficult for the traditional field around Schweitzer & Co. And that's how the race went. Galeasso at the top, under pressure from Schweitzer. He found himself in an Italian sandwich with Bertini and Galeasso. A great three-way battle that culminated in the many lappings. Schweitzer was able to take advantage of the opportunity in the tight network of bends and passed Galeasso in an ice-cold manner. It was already looking like a victory for Schweitzer when Galeasso tried everything again on the last lap. His ambition was to be rewarded shortly before the end and he was still able to grab Schweitzer. Third place went to Bertini.

The second race got off to a fantastic start for Galeasso. He was able to open up a small gap to second place early on on grass. He had to assert himself against Bertini the whole time. He pushed corner after corner and should be rewarded quickly. Gras had to let him go. F. Schweitzer and Bresciani fought for fourth place. In the end, Galeasso had to really fight against his Italian compatriot to avoid being conceded when he was lapped. But he did everything right, stayed cool and clinched the day's win in class 2.

Day ranking class 6 - GP-Open

  1. #6 Ezio Galeasso 50pts
  2. #20 Michael Bertini 36 pts
  3. #86 Florian Schweitzer 33 pts.

Grade 7 - Beginners

A wide-ranging starting field, also for beginners. A great development for the class and a good opportunity to gain racing experience in the big EST circus. Altmeppen in 1st place. He was by far the fastest in training. Frauenhoff was second, ahead of Eikenbusch. The race was littered with failures and falls. Altmeppen only got a little of all of this. He had to keep his nerve when lapping. For Frauenhoff, on the other hand, things did not go well. He had to park the scooter after the fall. The podium looked like this: Altmeppen ahead of Eikenbusch and Mirche.

Daily classification Class 7 - Beginners

  1. #494 Niklas Altmeppen 25 pts.
  2. #70 Nils Eikenbusch 20 pts.
  3. #51 Felix Mirche 16 pts.

Class 8 Endurance & 9 Endurance Split

In the long-distance, a record popularity was recorded among drivers. A total of 26 teams competed in the 3-hour challenge. In the K8, the SA Tuning team marked the top. Bueno`s could not keep up with the lap times. The lead grew – lap by lap. In class 9 with several vehicles, on the other hand, there was an exciting three-way battle. Xpear, Mieze 2 and Braam fought hard for the podium. After 1/3 of the race distance, the distance between the opponents was just 12 seconds. The Xpear Factory Team was able to claim the lead at this time. After 2/3 of the race distance, the rating looked much clearer. Xpear Factory Team was able to get a decent gap of 2 laps on the Mieze 2 team. Braam was third. it got tighter again. Place 3 and 4 went back and forth between Mieze and Racefoxx Pitbike ED. In the K5, SA Tuning was replaced by JD Performance. Bueno's was in third place. 8 minutes before the end there was a crucial technical defect. Mieze 3 lying in 10nd place had to push into the pit lane. The team was able to continue the race, but could not do anything against Xpear. And also in K2 it got the second JD-Performance was just behind Bueno's before the vehicle went on strike. And which means very briefly, that showed the finish line. 2 tenth distance after 8 hours of racing, that was a real heartbeat race.

Daily classification class 8 endurance

  1. #82 Bueno's 189 laps
  2. #191 JD Performance 189 laps
  3. #199 SA tuning 188 laps

Day classification class 9 Endurance Split

#222 Xpear Factory Team 200 laps

#54 Kitty 2 195 laps

#6 Braam 194 laps

With the idea of VWD 23 Visiting Switzerland had been on our minds for a long time, but only decided the day before, and Platónika and I set off from Cologne to Interlaken to finally do what Platónika was created for: Attending events and telling stories.

Day 1 on the way to the Vespa World Days 2023

Being a scooter with absolutely everything "new" (2021), it did not require major maintenance, nevertheless it is not superfluous, at least one spare, Olive oil, Train set Universal and spark plug to have.

After work at 18:30 I set off and after five and a half hours of motorway driving and 442km I arrived in Freiburg to meet Vespistas who were on the road.

And one of the problems with going out at night is the lack of light, but the LED headlights make a big difference.

Day 2 Interlaken country road

Already again with the Warrior Scooter Club united, we decided to drive the remaining 180 km through the beautiful countryside to Interlaken.

Meeting friends, making new friends, representing Colombia at the presidential meeting for the first time, expanding my collection of treasures and, above all, strengthening the relationship of trust with Platónika are just a few of the many experiences that I remember.

but the return trip will be less and less fun. Almost 9 hours on the Autobahn home. Even though I have the best speed I've ever had! (I drive almost 120 km/h continuously) 🤩

Thank you everyone for this great experience!

Woodlost Cannonball Classic Scooter Run title picture

Woodlost Cannonball Classic Scooter Run was held through the weekend of 26 -29 May in southern Sweden.
It was organized by Lambretta Club Malmo and we had a total of 71 participants divided into 30 teams.

Instead of just pure speed the concept this time for the Woodlost Cannonball was about gaining points. The participants had to navigate smart, performance nice in manned checkpoints and deliver right answers at unmanned checkpoints.
Congratulations to the team “What's Normal Then?!” with Isa and Erk Westberg, Morgan Strandberg and Jörgen Larsson who after two days of driving and performing was the team who went home with victory, glory and the challenge prize.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed this weekend and a big thank you to Scooter Center for your support.

Scooter & Classic

It's always nice to meet friends and that was when Scooter Center-Team on the EICMA 2022 the case. Here is some news that caught our attention:

New Vespa models EICMA 2022

Piaggio proudly presented the new 2023 model years, which will win many new fans with some new, visible and invisible features.
The most prominent model is of course the GTS300.
TECHNOLOGY
We can already say in advance: It drives better than ever! Piaggio has finally dedicated itself to the subject of chassis and has now made it much more stable and active. This is accompanied by a new front wheel suspension including a new supplier for the brake components. Nissin from Japan is now on board here and is responsible for a befitting delay. The front shock absorber of the GTS models differs again from the previous models, which brings us to the third stage of evolution. Interestingly, Piaggio has retained the previous fork/brake type for the new GTV models (recognizable by the headlight on the fender). In line with the spirit of the times, a keyless go system has now been rolled out on the GTS/GTV platforms. With that, the conventional key is history. It was replaced by a pure transponder (key fob) that can be used to start and unlock the vehicle when approaching via a rotary knob in the position of the former mechanical steering lock. The engine corresponds to the Euro5 engine which is already known from the previous model years. The models generally known as HPE, which brought a decent increase in performance compared to the Euro4 models, are used unchanged, i.e. with full power (23,8 hp at 8.250 rpm), in the 2023 models.

EXTERIOR/VISUAL
Externally, the new GTS models can only be distinguished from last year's models with a trained eye. However, Piaggio has hardly left a part untouched, so that the term facelift at this point would not do justice to Piaggio's effort. The clear identification feature of the GTS300 Bj.2023 are the switch units separated from the handlebars and the slightly exposed license plate light. The well-known division into GTS, GTS Super, GTS SuperSport and GTS SuperTech has been retained. While the first three versions are more to be understood as color variants, the SuperTech models also stand out technically with a large TFT display instead of the classic instrument landscape. In order not to lose touch in times of mandatory constant communication, Piaggio offers its new connectivity system MIA as an option. A concession to activate new target groups and to give the vehicle class further features, away from the purpose of a pure means of transport. Certainly a good idea to be able to place the GTS models even more fully and comprehensively on the market.

Vespa 946 10° Anniversary

The famous 946 models were also presented in a new guise. Always designed less as a technology and more as an image bearer, the 946 is both extroverted and a homage to the company's own history. The fact that with the 946 models Piaggio has strayed very far from the original idea of the simple but robust everyday vehicle is not at all an issue here. On the contrary, the 946 embodies that archetype scooter that any child would paint. This is more than any marketing department of other manufacturers even dares to dream of. Appropriately, Piaggio has dipped the 946 in a beautiful shade of green that is distantly related to the first paintwork of the models from over 70 years ago. In contrast to the GTS models, the 946 models therefore appeal more to artistic finesse, to whom an individual vehicle concept means more than explicitly good driving performance. For this reason, Piaggio has not yet given the 946 models a keyless go, but still relies on the good old key technology. To compensate, it has a modern LCD display and an LED headlight. The 946 models are offered with 125cc and 150cc.

 Vespa GTV

The new GTV models have undergone major visual changes than their GTS brothers. The handlebar fairing as well as the handlebar itself have been completely redesigned. Together with the sports seat including the new cover made of plastic (screwed/removable) and the decorative stripes, a beautiful nostalgic race look is offered, almost retro sport from the factory. With the front wheel fork, Piaggio stayed with the previously produced type so that the retrofit parts (shock absorbers) already available for these models also fit. However, keyless go is also already on board here and makes the GTV a reliable and easy-to-use commuter with a touch of avant-garde. The USB connection, LED headlights and the digital speedometer round off the picture of the modern oldie perfectly.

GTS Supersport 300 HPE ABS ASR

New SpecialModel: Primavera Color Vibe

The color vibe special models of the Primavera models impress with a modern appearance that Piaggio has created with a simple but very effective trick. A completely different vehicle line is implied by a horizontally applied decorative color tone, which deliberately contrasts strongly with the rest of the vehicle paintwork. This makes the Primavera models appear much sportier and more pleasing. Attached to the side, the engine displacement is also a nice gimmick. The color vibe models are available in 50cc, 125cc and 150cc versions.

Vespa Primavera Color Vibe 125 i-get ABS

Pinasco

Pinasco is still busy and always inspires with new products. The latest hit is the 244/252cc cylinder which was designed for a standard engine housing. Undoubtedly, the already legendary Quattrini M244 was the inspiration here, with its huge success in 2015 no one expected would have; Too expensive, too exclusive. Pinasco has now also dared to interpret the topic of maximum cubic capacity for the series housing. Here, too, a cylinder is used that no longer has a cylinder base that has to dip into the motor housing. This allows the size of the cylinder bore to be increased to a whopping 72mm (series 66.5mm) without having to rework the engine housing. However, a crankshaft with a significantly longer connecting rod (130mm vs. 110mm series) is absolutely necessary for this, as the channels are located significantly further up in the cylinder. A big difference to the Quattrini M244 cylinder is the intake control. The Pinasco cylinder has a large cylinder inlet which is fired by an intake manifold with a membrane. This makes you completely independent of an intake control via the engine housing. Pinasco will offer matching crankshafts with 60 and 62mm stroke. The connecting rod length is 130mm. According to Pinasco, if a Pinasco engine housing is used, there is no need to spin the crankcase for the crankshafts. This step would only be necessary for original Piaggio motor housings.

The cylinder with side outlets is also shown here. These are probably omitted in series production.

Pinasco Eureka

A special feature at the Pinasco stand was the E-conversion kit for the Vespa, dubbed Eureka Smallframemodels.
The solution patented by Pinasco envisages replacing only the crankshaft and the cylinder. The cylinder is replaced by an electric motor with a vertical output shaft. The replacement for the crankshaft, on the other hand, absorbs the power of the engine via spur gearing and transmits it conventionally to the clutch. The scooter can be operated as usual (coupling, shifting, accelerating, uhh, giving electricity).

Polini

New ECU for GTS 300 Euro 5

Polini offers a new cylinder kit including ECU unit for the GTS300 Euro5 models. With this, the injection quantity/time can be adjusted within a certain framework to the installation situation (modified exhaust, air filter, etc.) by simply adjusting a potentiometer.

New exhaust Vespa Sprint

Polini now also offers their popular 'original box' exhaust system for older engine generations such as the Vespa Sprint. With these models, the exhaust is only fixed to a screw on the engine block. Polini has therefore modified and strengthened the bracket. The end tube was also lengthened. This appears to be smaller than in conventional systems. As soon as we have the new systems in the program, we will mention this detail in the shop. It is also unclear whether the main stand of the Sprint models can fold in unhindered. An often voiced point of criticism of the previous Polini systems which were used on the Sprint/Rally models. Apparently Polini only offers the modified exhaust for the small engine blocks (125-150cc).

A full 450ccm with 43 hp and a six-speed foot switch were paired with a squat and very attractive-looking raw frame including scooter-typical fairing and, for the range of services, rather small tires. According to Italjet, the GP500 should be fast at a whopping 185km/h. For us a real cracker that could certainly take on the legacy of the Gilera Runner 180.

Racer

On Saturday, October 08.10th, the EST season finale was heralded in Jüterbog. In most classes, the champions of this year's European Scooter Trophy and the European PitBike Trophy were already certain, but behind them there were still important points at stake for the other places in the table. Despite the day event, the field of drivers was well filled and before the big party could start in the evening, the way was clear for a great motorsport Saturday in the EST racing circuit.

The results of the event by class:

Class 1 - Rookies by Scooter-Attack:

Hüske's fastest in his class also dominated the field in the first sprint race. Behind them came Piekatz. Jorgensen was able to collect Müller at the start. However, Jorgensen couldn't keep up the pace from the start and later ended up in 5th place. Winterscheidt was able to work its way up to 3rd place. Hüskes at the front turned a lonely race with a large gap to Piekatz and Hüskes could not hinder the laps on the way to victory. Piekatz took a good second place ahead of Winterscheidt.

Things didn't look good for Hüskes for the second race. Already in the warm-up he had technical problems and was only able to get onto his grid position with a delay. It was confirmed as soon as it started. Hüskes was passed through the field. Piekatz took first place with it, followed directly by Jorgensen. Winterscheidt and Kienzle in third and fourth place. Piekatz was under a lot of pressure from Jorgensen and had to give everything not to lose the lead. But soon it became clear that he could not stop Jorgensen. This grabbed Piekatz. In the chasing role, Piekatz was able to build up pressure again and went on the counteroffensive. Jorgensen held against it. It was also exciting behind it. Winterscheidt and Kienzle fought a great duel. Piekatz fell shortly before the end and robbed himself of valuable points for the day's victory. In the end he even had to give up completely, so Jorgensen won ahead of Winterscheidt and Kienzle.

Day class 1 - Rookies by Scooter-Attack

  1. #20 Marcel Winterscheidt 36 pts.
  2. #991 Jacob Jorgensen 34 pts
  3. #47 Sascha Hüskes 30 pts.

Class 2 - SuperSport

Triebs, who was already champion in Juvaincourt, also showed in Jüterbog why he is at the top of the SuperSport this year. Great performance, calm driving style and a lot of speed were also his godfather in Jüterbog. The Dane Diabelez tried to keep up. Triebs, however, was able to keep him at a sufficient distance. Behind them a three-way battle raged between Merling, Drath and Apostel. Here was for everyone, everything in it. Keep your cool and don't make mistakes. Merling's Scooter dropped after half-time. Drath and Apostel knew how to take advantage of this and were able to overtake. Drath, released from the three-way battle, was able to pull away from his pursuers. However, Diabelez was already too far away to attack again. Nothing burned at the front and Triebs won the first race.

Triebs thundered away from everyone in the second race as well. Diabelez had technical problems at the start and was passed through the field once. Depta on two and directly in a duel with Drath. This didn't hesitate and overtook Depta as well as Apostel. Things didn't go well for Drath during the race. The scooter lacked power. He lost more and more places. This enabled Apostle to take second place. Compared to the first race, Sperling improved significantly and moved up to third place. And he noticed that there was still more to it, so the challenge to the apostles was clear. Apostle and Sparrow fought.

Sperling had the faster scooter, but Apostel cleverly closed it. That went to the substance at Sperling. In the background, Just and Depta had fought their way up to the two. Just took advantage of Sperling's inattentiveness for a second and overtook him. Even apostles should still believe in it. Just did it very well and was able to concede it too. Triebs didn’t notice any of this at the top. This brought in his second win of the day.

Daily classification class 2 - SuperSport

  1. #313 Marcel Triebs 50 pts.
  2. #42 Bastian Just 29 pts.
  3. #32 Gabriel Apostle 29 pts

Class 3 - Expert by Scooter-Attack

As always, the Expert race was spectacular. Ong had secured pole position in front of Lukas and the champion Andersen. Andersen got off to a great start and immediately took second place. Lukas on three and Schnell on four. Andersen was also able to pass Ong on lap two. However, he didn't let him go away, but tried to keep at it. Two scooter lengths behind, Ong waited for Andersen to make a mistake. Lukas retired early from the fight for the podium after a fall. With luck he was able to get back into the race ahead of the large group of pursuers. In third place, Schnelle asserted itself. In the constellation it was round after round. None of the opponents made mistakes and so Andersen was able to win ahead of Ong and Schnelle.

In the second race, Andersen drove straight to the front of the field. Ong behind kept his eyes on the Dane and didn't let him pull away. Lukas also wanted to get involved and made a three-way fight out of the duel and so it went into a strenuous internal fight for laps. You could feel that Ong could get more out of the scooter but getting past Andersen was extremely difficult for him. However, Ong was able to seize his chance and brake from the inside, leaving Ong in the lead ahead of Andersen and Lukas. But Andersen didn't let that sit and took the lead back. In the end he was rewarded for a great performance with two wins. Second place went to Ong ahead of Lukas.

Day class 3 - Expert by Scooter-Attack

  1. #336 Stefan Andersen 50pts
  2. #169 Yannik Ong 40 pts
  3. #111 Andreas Lukas 29 pts.

Class 4 - Supramatic & BigBore

Hüser just sprinted away from the field. At the lonely top he raced to a flawless victory. Bickell dropped out with a technical defect. Second was Kazillas.

Second race, second victory for Hüser. The direct competitor Kazillas had no chance and took second place like in the first race.

Day rating class 4 - Supramatic & BigBore

  1. #81 Christian Hüser 50 pts.
  2. #191 Georgios Kazillas 40 pts.
  3. #21 Sven Bickell 16 pts.

Class 5 - PitBike Stock by Scooter-Attack

Ullrich in 1st place had to give up his ambitions to win early in the race. Technical problems brought him a big backlog. So Ullrich had no chance to get in the top three. Wittwer was able to take the lead directly and build up a large lead over Wolf. It was a hot battle for third place between Nabbefeld and Hartmann. In the end, Nabbefeld had the upper hand. Wittwer took the first win ahead of Wolf.

In the second race, Ullrich was able to get involved again as usual. This also went straight to the top of the class. Wittwer in second place had little to do against Ullrich. Wolf drove in third place. In the end, Wittwer was happy about the day's victory.

Day rating class 5 - PitBike Stock by Scooter-Attack

  1. #112 Jonas Wittwer 45 pts.
  2. #99 Paul Ullrich 36 pts.
  3. #58 Sebastian Wolf 36 pts.

Grade 6 - GP Open

Gras started the race from 1st place, followed by Florian Schweitzer. Both fought hard for first place. Gras was initially able to keep Schweitzer in check. Schweitzer got faster bit by bit and waited for his chance. And he should be rewarded. At a good moment, Schweitzer overtakes Gras. Julian Schweitzer in 3rd place could not quite keep up during the race. He let the duo go, who fought to the finish line until the end. Schweitzer remained steadfast and won in front of Gras.

In the second race, Gras Schweitzer didn't want to admit defeat. Compared to the first race, Gras was able to extend the lead to such an extent that Schweitzer was no longer within striking distance. And so both clearly pulled away from the field of pursuers. Florian Schweitzer took the place, but he could no longer pose a threat to the duo.

Day ranking class 6 - GP-Open

  1. #222 Henning Grass 45 pts.
  2. #86 Florian Schweitzer 45 pts.
  3. #306 Julian Ziegler 29 pts.

Grade 7 - Beginners

The start of the beginners was interrupted by several falls. As a result, the race was stopped. At the restart, Illic took the lead, followed by Weiland. Gaidecka had to pass right away due to a technical defect. Maas and Kalms followed in 3rd and 4th place. Illic quickly built up a lead over Weiland. Maas was able to increase his speed during the race and put Weiland under pressure. This could not defend himself against Maas and had to let him pass. At the end it got tight again for Weiland as Kalms caught up more and more. However, before he could overtake Weiland, the race was over. Ilic was happy about his sovereign victory in front of Maas and Weiland.

Daily classification Class 7 - Beginners

  1. #186 Danny Illic 25 pts
  2. #34 Sascha Maas 20 pts.
  3. #333 Tilo Weiland 16 pts.

Class 8 Endurance & 9 Endurance Split

In the shortened long-distance race, 16 teams duel at the start this time. The 1-day event traditionally covered the race distance of 1,5 hours. So the direction was to step on the gas and not tactically. And the 1,5 hour race was also turbulent and clear. At the latest after a short, heavy shower, the field was totally muddled at the end. At the end of the day, everyone was happy that the ambulance was able to stay in its waiting position despite various falls.

Project Paul team

Challenge Scootentole – 10h race in Magny-Cours, Nevers (F)

Stickers on the Paul Vespa

The last long-distance race of the season took place in Magny-Cours last weekend. Scootentole invited to the 10-hour race on the 'PISTE CLUB', a 2,53 km long race track right next to the well-known GP track. As in previous years, we followedProject PAUL“ – along with 40 other racing teams from all over Europe – their invitation, because last year’s title had to be defended!

Despite some turbulence in the run-up - due to the organizer's postponement of dates and driver absences due to illness - we finally managed to win two teams with four drivers each in class SP1 ("Smallframe Proto") to name:

Team 1 consisting of Romain, Felix, Wolfi and Thomas went with the 40 hp strong M200 V50 racer (#6) at the start,

Team 2 with the Falc-PK (#176) with around 28 hp, driven by Volker, Markus, Julia and Dennis, who was also the boss and main mechanic of both teams (which should push him to his limits). But from the beginning...

After a long journey and a short night in a - let's call it - "cozy" 10-person mobile home, on Saturday, the day before the actual race, there was set-up, training and qualifying. Unfortunately, Peter showed no mercy, again and again it poured like buckets. With positions 6 and 19 on the grid after qualifying and the hope of drier conditions the next day, things went down early in the evening because the next day was supposed to start early!

Luckily, the race day started much drier than the day before, so we decided against rain tires. And then it finally started! The starting shot was fired at 8.45:XNUMX a.m. On slicks with the road still wet, Wolfi and Markus confidently drove the first stint. The track gradually dried out, which led to better and better lap times – until the first race was stopped after around three hours. A serious crash by a rider from another team kept the rescue team busy for a long time, with all riders stuck behind the safety car.

At this point, Team 2 was back in the box with its PK. The engine stalled during the third stint. The cause was quickly found: Massive tooth loss on the clutch sprocket gave us a four-hour break, during which Dennis, Volker and Markus disassembled the engine to search for the lost teeth. I quote pit neighbor Robert: "Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the tree"...

Meanwhile, the race had picked up speed again - and so did our Romain: he drove his new best lap time of 1.28.116:6:2 and thus the third fastest lap time of the entire race. Starting from position XNUMX, we were now in position XNUMX just behind “Vespa Italy Team” from Crimaz and ahead of “Superbordel Deluxe”, our French battle partners from last year. The Lambrettas from Casa Performance and TD Customs were also in the front places and made for an exciting race!

Dropping back to 39th place, team 15 started to catch up around 2 p.m. Well, there can be no question of a real catch-up race, but at least a few laps could be collected, because the engine not only held up, it also ran like clockwork again. The guys did a great job and didn't give up and that's what it's all about in the end!

About two hours before the end of the race, team 1 was also hit. After the carburetor had slipped, a defective gudgeon pin bearing forced us to replace the engine. There were now too many laps between us and the very strong competition, which continued to battle for the top positions. And although a place on the podium could only have been achieved if one of the other teams dropped out, the fight continued until the checkered flag was waved exactly 10 hours later.

In the end, Project PAUL achieved 1th place (Team 4) and 1th place (Team 10) in class SP2, which meant 7th and 33rd place overall. Casa Performance burned the fastest lap time of 1.26.766, followed by Vespa Italy Team (1.27.527) and Projekt Paul (1.28.116).

We congratulate all drivers who made it across the finish line and thank each and every one of them, especially the organizer Scootentole, who made this exciting race weekend possible. Also our sponsors, the Scooter Center, KR Automation, FalkR and Egig Performance, we would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU, because only with you Project PAUL is what it is - a successful team of friends with a lot of heart for motorsport!

We had the honor of sponsoring the Scooter Liada Rally 2022 event and Javier Peres tells us here a little about what such an incredible experience was.

thank you javier for sharing with us!!

Organizers of the iconic Scooter Liada Rally in Asturias (Northern Spain) brought the popular event back with a bang after a two year absence. The rally was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to pandemic restrictions, with the last one taking place in 2019.

Asturias went retro and headed back to the 60's last Saturday, August 20th, as it played host to the long awaited 10th anniversary Scooter Liada Rally. Scooter enthusiasts of all ages converged at the Plaza Europa in the town center at 11am. From there, they rode out towards Muros del Nalón where they stopped for a drink and a live concert and then headed for lunch in a small village called Pillarno at 3pm. Around 5pm, a raffle took place anf the luckiest ones were awarded with gifts and prizes.

Back in 2019, around 75 scooters took part in a ride around the beautiful landscapes of this part of Asturias. To celebrate its 10th anniversary organizers managed to bring over 90 Vespas and Lambrettas. Enthusiasts traveled to Piedras Blancas from all over Spain to share their passion with fellow riders. The atmosphere was fantastic as the people who attended were such a great bunch, it was definitely a pleasant Vespa and Lambretta meeting. A great band, cool DJs, all always in a good mood and happy. It was great to be there at this family reunion of the LSC
(Liada's Scooter Club)

It's almost been a month since our weekend party, but we're still totally thrilled that you all came and made the event what it was: A huge custom show highlight with a consistently great atmosphere in every respect ! The complete Scooter Center Team says: THANK YOU!!!

After presenting the winning scooters of the custom show here, today we will show you which clubs, aftermarket dealers, influencers, youtubers, magazines and of course dealers and workshops have come to Cologne. Here, too, we politely curtsey and say: THANK YOU!

Clubs

Bella Ig

2004 since the Bella IG a registered association with the purpose of enabling the preservation, restoration and care of historic scooters from the Zündapp works.

The Bella-IG was founded in 1984 by two Bella enthusiasts. Together with its sister clubs in Great Britain and North America, it now has over 250 members. The "Bella Family" runs a colorful club life with the club magazine, forum, supply and replenishment of Bella parts and the annual Bella meeting organized by IG members in different regions.

Hidden power

Not only because of the local proximity, we have a particularly good relationship with the club founded in 1990 as Hidden Power Scooter Club Hagen. It emerged from the Hagen Modvereinigung, which was founded in 1986 Volme Parka Society Hagen.
The custom shows organized by Hagen at the beginning of the 2000s set standards that we were happy to use as a guide. With the holidays in
Sauerland, the HiH then also set standards in the run calendar.

Celtic Roller Club

Another traditional club from northern Germany whose club stand made us very happy. Founded in 1994 and always at the forefront. At the custom show, the guys across from our bar served ice-cold circulatory stimulants on the rocks with their Jägermeister machine. There were also three trophies for the scooters they brought along.

Lambretta Club Espana

Felix is a real jack of all trades and as such also president of the Spanish Lambretta Club! Words are really not enough to describe his zest for action and inventiveness! At our weekender he threw himself on the stand of the Spanish Lambretta Club, offered his wonderful book about the Serveta / Lambretta production in Spain and let the small 45s circling out of his record cases on both nights.

Lambretta Club Germany

Lambretta Club Germany gives you SX appeal. If we have to explain, you wouldn't understand! The usual sympathetic appearance, here in the picture parts of the always cheerful former board member.

Spirit of Scooterist 84

Marieke and Marcus have been hyper-active in the German and English scooter scene since the 84s. The '90' in the name refers to the year the Scooterboy cult exploded and has grown in popularity since the XNUMX's. As the organizer of Scooterist Meltdown they have established an international event completely outside of the well-known run calendar in February. Registrations are open ;-)

Half past the bar

…is in the Scooterszene is a popular slogan to meet friends and like-minded people at an open time on a run or niter and toast together with a cold drink. The resulting organization of the same name takes care of scooterists who have had an accident and – in the worst case – their dependents who are in need. Because some will never be at the bar again at half past.

Vandalizing drool heads Ostholstein

One of the first clubs in Germany. Founded in Lübeck in 1986, they started a run on Pentecost that same year, which was based on the English rallies and became a complete success and the start of a movement. Here, too, the club could probably equip a complete custom show alone with the club's own scooters.

Vesbeachy

Vesbeachi is the all-brand tin scooter meet-up on the beach. The Jelto organizes this and it was a super popular meeting right from the start. The second round will be held at the beginning of October on the beach of Beachclub Nethen and, by popular request, will be extended by one evening. He advertised the Vesbeachi a little with us and if you don't have your tickets yet, you can get help here -> http://www.vesbeachi.de/

Vespa Club Germany

The Vespa Club of Germany eV (VCVD for short) has been around for almost as long as the Vespa has been inspiring the world.
The oldest Vespa clubs in Germany were founded in 1950. The voluntary Vespa Club of Germany is the umbrella organization of the official German Vespa clubs. If you add up the number of drivers organized there, then the Vespa Club of Germany represents the
Interests of over 4.000 Vespa friends and is therefore one of the largest brand clubs in Germany, so we were happy about the visit of the VCVD.

Vespa boys Colonia

The Vespa Jungs Colonia are an association of Cologne Vespisti who tackle joint activities related to Vespas. The group is really big and the trips together are legendary.

VJC Fb

Shaggy Zossen

The Zottel Zossen Scooter Association has been around for 33 years and they have set up a number of runs, nighters and custom scooters during this time. You could probably easily set up your own custom show with their customs. That's not the only reason why it was a great honor for us that they came with a lot of cutlery and set up the two largest club stands together with the playroom.

When Andy told us about his plan to publish a print magazine at the Eurolambretta 2016 in Geiselwind, we frowned. And they were completely wrong. ScooterNova has firmly established itself as an independent scooter magazine. ScooterNova Magazine is mega-appealing both in terms of content and aesthetics. The focus is on Lambretta and Vespa scooters, but occasionally there are also reports on DKR, Ducati, IWL, Maico, Moto Rumi, Peugeot, Zundapp and other old scooters. Engage attack mode to score valuable points for the final scoring.
There was a big setback in the weather on Saturday. After the first showers on Friday over the

it was about getting a good starting position in the front field.

Class 1 - Rookies by Scooter-Attack:

High tension at the beginning of the start of the rookies. Hüskes in an unusual third place, did it
during the warm-up it was clear that he wanted to be at the top. Didwissus on pole wanted to prevent this as well
like Urban and Winterscheidt. The starting winner was Didwissus. Hüskes fought his way up to second place and sat
to attack Didwissus immediately. With a lot of excess power, he managed this confidently in round 2.
Winterscheidt tried to keep up, but was inferior in terms of performance. Didwissus was across the field
passed. The battle for 3rd place was between Klas and Groß. In round 8 had to
Give up Winterscheidt with a technical defect. That put Groß in 2nd place ahead of the sovereign
driving Huskes. Hüskes won easily in front of a strong Gross followed by Klas.
In the second race, Hüskes again took the lead in the field. Urban followed him at a short distance,
but tried to keep up. The distance from large to urban was already significantly larger. But big had to
also be careful to the rear, because Ebeling and Piekatz were lurking there for your chance. During this secured
Hüskes sovereign his lead over Urban. The next challenge lay in lapping the last-placed.
Hüskes and Urban did it perfectly. Groß had significantly more problems and had to place Ebeling in 3rd place
let it pass. His scooter kept getting better and better. Ebeling burned one personal best after the other
Asphalt and grabbed Urban. Hüskes won easily as the first in front of Ebeling and Urban.

Class 2 - SuperSport by Deutscher Bauservice

Right from the start, Drath passed Apostel and led the SuperSport. Triebs fought with Apostel
the second place. With excess speed in lap 5 on the start-finish, both went into the first
Curve. Triebs misbraked slightly and had to let Apostel go and was also conceded by De Wit.
Triebs with better speed countered immediately and was able to win both drivers again in the following lap
overtake. Drath didn't manage to extend his lead. Triebs felt that something was going and set Drath
negative pressure. A super exciting four-way battle continued. De Wit was able to overtake Apostle and was already there
in the slipstream of Triebs and Drath. Everyone was waiting for a mistake. Drath fought like a lion. Yet
Triebs had more power and so what had been indicated throughout the laps happened. Triebs pulled the wire inside
over. He now had to keep De Wit in check. De Wit drove smart and waited for his chance. De Wit came
better out of the last corner before start and finish than Drath. Tire to tire it went into the first corner. De Wit
inside was ahead and took a great second place. Triebs at the top got valuable
Championship points and third place went to Drath, who fought well, but both opponents
had to surrender.
Apostle led the second race. He was able to get a good distance ahead of Triebs and Drath
drive out. Apostle's Scooter, however, lost significantly compared to Triebs and Drath. In round 7 succeeded
Triebs the overtaking manoeuvre, but immediately countered by Apostel. A lap later, this one had to
then let Triebs go and defend his second place against Drath. It went in a heated duel
curve after curve. Apostle was able to compensate for the lack of speed with a good driving performance. De Wit
and Diabelez behind them had no chance to get involved in the duel. The duels continued until
De Wit fell on the thirteenth lap. He crashed badly on the start-finish. The race line broke
then aborted the race with the red flag to take care of the driver. There was no restart since

he made himself. The first laps Andersen was held up by the field of drivers. From round 8

Giannasi out. Schmitt at the front felt the pressure from Schnell and Andersen. Both became
always faster. A three-way battle between Schmitt, Schnelle and Andersen was the order of the day. Every lap from start to finish it was time to hold your breath. There was zero air between the tires of all three drivers. Schmitt couldn't

drive on. Due to the fall, Schnelle had to line up again in 6th place. Super annoying for him after
a great race. The beneficiary was Giannasi, who took third place behind Schmitt and
Andersen was able to secure.
The second race started with a surprise. Giannasi in 1st place, followed by Lukas

Vespa rally

The inspiration for the name of the scooter goes back to Tessa seeing the scooters from Burnley and Pendle Scooter Club riding round the town where she lived and that scooter Club had the patch inspired from the trials of the Pendle Witches in 1612. The 70s and the scooter scene back then are the inspiration and that is also the reason why a Vespa Rally 180 with electronic ignition had been chosen. With Tessa's and Lee's connections they traced down info about how the period scooters of the Burnley and Pandle scooters looked, had been painted, what accessories had been fitted and even reproduced the wooden rear shield and club patches.

Loom: Matthias Scherer bought the engine along with the cooler, hoses, water pump, etc. and installed it in the current frame.
The complete vehicle had then completed a number of acceleration races along with test bench runs and scooter meetings.
I was lucky enough to be able to purchase the almost complete vehicle in a disassembled state three years ago.
At the beginning of 2022 Ronny and I (Scoot Devils/Smallframe-Factory) then started to restore them in such a way that it corresponds to the current DBM rules, it was clear to us from the start that the Scauri/Scherer belonged back on the track.
So we had to make a few cuts and couldn't restore it quite like the two Rollershops.
But I think we managed to maintain a high recognition value.

TV 175 Series / BSG305

This TV175 Series 2 was finished in time by Rimini Lambretta Center for the Weekender. Their customer 'Mad Farmer' requested a 60's Custom scooter, with a huge modern slant. So combined is a RLC resto' but with lots of his ideas that needed to bring to life. Basically the paintjob goes along the lines of a 60's racing car in Aston Martin colours, Lambretta logos reworked with a 'Norton' font, centrally mounted hinged tank and a BSG305 engine to power the show. Both petrol tanks are custom made and are linked. The 39mm Dell'Orto carb on a BSG engine has an unusual exit point (behind the kickstart side engine mount) and an extended toolbox has been made to give a few more liters. Too many details to list them all here like Serveta Wintermodel mudguard with chrome crest to match with the paintjob, magic and secret Lucas brackets for legshield fitting, mechanically Rev Counter has started, lots of bling bling treatment and list goes on…

Tags: Lambretta and Kawasaki 4-stroke technology on each other. One could certainly argue about whether the Li3 frame or the frame of a Kawasaki GPZ500S form the starting point. In order to get the rear frame of the Kawasaki under the frame loop and side panels of the Lambretta, the loop was lengthened by 13 cm and widened by 4 cm at the front. But in such a way that an original rear light still fits. The original GPZ swingarm was shortened accordingly and the translation shortened. The hoods have been adapted to the new frame dimensions and are now held with Aerocatch fasteners from automobile racing. The tank (12L capacity) sits in the fairing lower and was a PX glove box in a previous life. It is filled via a Newton tank cap and the fuel is supplied via a Hardi pump, which has found its new home under the front fender. Shifting takes place via a Translogic power shifter, with the clutch only being required for starting off. Everything from Motogadget was installed once and Marek's #24 would probably be a more than perfect demonstrator for them.

Motor: The 60 horses should be enough for 190 km/h plus easy. The double disc from Casa Performance is used for deceleration at the front and the seat comes from Weitweit Gar.

painting: the livery and race number are inspired by Jeff Gordon's NASCAR Chevrolet.

Ten inch terror

Ten inch terror

A Bajaj and three PX battle frames, a few motorcycle parts and a Husqvarna Motorcycles WR 360 engine were the ingredients for the incredible projectile that saw the light of day in 2015 after five years of construction. Electrics and instrumentation come from Motogadget and much of it can be found in and on the slightly dropped handlebars. The glove compartment acts as a tank and holds 14 liters. The flip rear is attached with eight screws, the lying shock absorber is controlled via a deflection. The bench was self-made and Marek's favorite upholsterer Alex was purchased from Weitweit Gar.
Motor: The engine was refined by Marek with a Canonized exhaust and a combustion chamber developed by Overrev, among other things, and now delivers 55 hp / 45 Nm to the 6-speed gearbox. Shifting is via an electric power shifter without a clutch. A full-wave controller was installed so that the on-board network can handle the additional load, and the alternator and the electrics were completely converted to DC.

Patrick tells us a little about what this great event was:

“From Gourlizon, if it rains, we go to Douarnenez to have lunch at a member of our scooter club's restaurant, where we are on the road with 38 motorcycles due to the bad weather forecast and drive to the sea at Penhors in the afternoon. On Sunday morning we ride 80 km along the sea towards “La pointe du raz”, stop in Audierne and eat at the “taverne des troll” in Pont Croix, during the meal we go up to the prizes of the rally, best route the street.

Have a very good weekend, thank you Scooter Center for the goodies!”

Thank you Patrick and greetings to all friends of: Vsck Vespa Kemper

My adventures are not only related to the Vespas, but this time to their little sister: the mopeds.
In an impromptu plan, I accompanied some members of the technical team from Scooter Center: Marc, Frank and Roland test their Ciaos on the Moped festival 2022 by Iron Mofa.
Platonika would stay parked because I had to drive in a real vehicle! And I couldn't get a better backseat than the Flatliners boys tandem!
Not knowing what to expect, I set up cameras and we embarked on an adventure that turned out to be a lot more fun than I imagined.

It was fun to see so many bad boys in these little vehicles, but above all, as always, to meet wonderful people full of good humor.

Hello tandem:

The reason for the construction of this tandem is special, as are the components that make it possible Scooter Center managed to create this rarity!

The tandem is driven by a Polini speed engine with one DR Evo cylinder farms.
As a further tuning measures were a 13/13 carburetor with one SIL Tech Venturi and a Malossi air filter installed.
The exhaust gases are through a Gianeli Ori Power derived.
The landing gear was through the Shock absorber holder from MMW and the bgm ProF16 shock absorbers upgraded.
Due to the increased load on the axles, the normal front axle bearing was replaced by a MC Proparts Front axle kit replaces + socket set

But it wouldn't be the only distinctive feature I would see at this meeting:
The motor of this Ciao comes from a cut-off grinder for railroad tracks.
