39th and 10th run on 25 / 26.7. on the resin ring

Here is a new report from our driver at IDSM Thomas Heck:

This weekend there were 2 runs of the IDSM on the Harzring. This year the race is my “home race” with only 340km to get there. So Anita and I arrived at the ring on Friday in time to do the registration and technical inspection.

On Saturday morning there wasn't much time to try out new Sava tires on the scooter, as there were only two free and two timed practice sessions for each class. On the other hand, it is always a lot of fun on the Harzring, as most of the participants can be found here. With 28 drivers, my class was again by far the largest field of participants.
After I had correctly matched the chassis and variator with the BGM weights, the second timed practice was due. Since it was about to rain, all the drivers tried to set a good time as quickly as possible, which I managed to do quite well with the 2nd row on the grid and 2th place.
After a leisurely round in the evening, we went to bed early to be fit the next day.

As it got much warmer on Sunday, I took a harder rear tire from Sava for the races, which later turned out to be a good choice. I missed the start of the first run a bit, but was able to overtake 3 drivers in the course of the race and was in 7th place at the finish.

In the second race in the afternoon, my start was much better. I was able to line up right behind my “permanent rival” Kevin Chadrysiak # 82 and follow him closely throughout the race. Kevin drove a very good race without any mistakes, so I had no chance to overtake him. At the end of the race, the rear tire also started to slip, but most of my competitors also struggled with that. But it was still a lot of fun, and with 5th place out of 28, I was also very satisfied. I was able to improve my best time by almost 2 seconds. (Now 1.00.662 min.)

There is now a longer break in the IDSM until the Sachsenring (26/27.9.2009/XNUMX/XNUMX).
In the meantime, I'll be taking part in the 24-hour race on the Harzring at the end of August with our 180cc runner. I also try to train for another 1-2 days in Ramsloh to test parts and new tires.
