First of all: The work on the twin has paid off: 11,937sec and 168,35 km / h, wow! That is only 0,037 seconds (!!!) behind the world record

Just in time for them Nitrolympix at the Hockenheimring on 16./17. August we have ours two cylinders be able to finish. The first time, only roughly coordinated, he was on the road at the DSSC Stage 6 Team Meeting in Rothenburg.

So in order to be able to adjust the twin something, our driver Andi and I took a quick decision to test it on a suitable route on Thursday (MZH airfield). See videos and pictures.

During the test runs, it turned out that the drive was not really working as I imagine it to be and that there are certainly no top times to be achieved. So back to the test bench to find a few more seconds. When warming up on the P4 test bench, the right cylinder suddenly jammed.
Great! The on Thursday evening at 18:00 p.m., where we “only” wanted to leave for Hockenheim at 7:00 the next morning.

So a night shift was announced. The problem was quickly found and fixed.

A great atmosphere awaited us at the Hockenheimring, full seats, lots of top fuel dragsters, nitro bikes, the smell of nitromethane in the air - and a lot of work, the twin still had to be tuned after the changes ... Unfortunately I didn't get a good result on Friday either and could only hope for more success on Saturday.

From then on everything somehow runs automatically and, above all, very, very quickly in the truest sense of the word. I don't even notice the 50.000 spectators while I run behind the twin in the spotlight and accompany Andi to the start line. Then it starts. During burnout (to warm up the tires for better grip) I have to hold the twin with all my might, the track just sticks too hard - of course, official FIA races are held here ...
Back in Pre-start, From now on I'm just a spellbound viewer and can only hope for Steffen and Andi that both of them arrive safely at the back and above all that the twin doesn't cause any trouble.

Both start shooting, the crowd in the stands rages ... in the end Steffen is in front 149.63km / h and 12,730 sec It doesn't help that the twin came late, too late, but violently. Our top speed was with 161,13km/h significantly higher, unfortunately he needed with 12,797 sec but a few hundredths longer. The drive is still causing problems .. there is still a lot to be done. In any case, the twin plays in the 100 miles scooter - league at the forefront.

Actually we wanted to go home that evening, but made a quick decision we stayed and wanted to see the finals on Sunday.

In any case, we'll be back next year and try to break this record.
