The boss has come up with something: Lambretta Lui dyno days!
From the very beginning - since 1992 - the Lambretta has been a fixture in our company Scooter Center. Much has changed in almost three decades. In the 90s it was mainly the GP and, if necessary, other Series 3 models, now the entire range is available from Series 1 and 2, the cardan models and right up to the Lambretta 'Smallframes' * more popular than ever.
Grade the small Lambrettas with 50 cc displacement were until the appearance of the 75 Casa Lambretta cylinder Completely useless at the beginning of 2009 due to the extremely modest driving performance.
Ulfs Lui Lambrettas put to the test
We took the soft lockdown as an opportunity to put part of Ulf's Lui collection through its paces. We were particularly interested in how the 75 cc Casa cylinder against the original Innocenti 75 cc beats.
And were surprised at how good it was 75 cc aluminum cylinder with Nikasil coating.
Im Performance chart In the blue corner you can see a completely original lui 50 C. The performance curve with 2,1 HP "peak" performance you unfortunately have to look for at the height of the torque curve of the two 75s.
The green curve with 4,5 HP at around 5.500 rpm was delivered by an original Vega with an SH20 carburetor.
The red curve is a 75 series Casa engine. The cylinder was fired with the 15 SHA carburetor kit (main nozzle 68). A special feature of the engine is the exhaust of the 75 models, which is unfortunately not available and is very popular.

CASA LAMBRETTA - THE MUSEO SCOOTERS & LAMBRETTA
This is located above the business premises of Casa Lambretta Museo Scooters & Lambretta. In an inconspicuous building with an exposed aggregate concrete finish, Vittorio Tessera has created a collection that is unique in terms of the quantity and, above all, the quality of the scooters on display.
Established in its original location in 2001 with the support of the city of Rodano, the museum was added to the provincial museum system in 2004 Milano Citta del Progetto and has been at its current location since 2010.
THE EXHIBITS
The around 160 exhibits document the history of scooter construction. The oldest scooters were built before World War II, the youngest exhibits are from the 1970s. In addition to the Italian brands, Vittorio has brought together scooters from manufacturers from: England, Germany, Austria, Spain, USA, Russia, France, Japan, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.
In the first of the five exhibition halls there is a selection of around ten Vespas from the V98 to later models. On the way to the other rooms, we pass three Belmondo scooters from the 1940s. The presumed inspiration for Piaggio to develop the Paperino.
In halls two and three, the various scooters are grouped according to year of construction and country of manufacture. The conditions leave little to be desired, from perfect restorations to freshly pulled out of the barn to preserved conditions and almost new vehicles in their original condition, everything is included here. The rarest exhibits include the Honda Juno K (Honda's first scooter from 1954, the Nibbio built in Lombardy in 1947, the Bastert single-track car or the car armchair (the first example of a scooter from 1908).
THE LAMBRETTA COLLECTION
The heart of the collection are the two other halls with the Lambrettas. From 1947 to 1971 Innocenti built more than four million Lambrettas at the nearby Lambrate plant. If you add up the license builds from India, Spain, Germany, France, Asia and South America, the Lambretta with its derivatives is one of the most popular two-wheelers in the world.
Thanks to his decades-long obsession, Vittorio has amassed a unique collection of Lambrettas: From the oldest, known Lambretta, the m (A) model with chassis number 2, the FB tricycle from 1949 with an ice cream superstructure, to currently two Series 2 Lambrettas with original paintwork for the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, the completely gold-plated TV 175 Series 3 for actress Jane Mansfield to various lambrettas in the yellow paintwork with four-leaf clover, which was reserved for the Innocenti family themselves.
The absolute highlight are the prototypes and one-offs, which without the intervention of Vittorio in the proverbial last minute would probably not have been preserved for posterity.

Part 1: What or who is Casa Lambretta?
You can answer that relatively matter-of-factly. Casa Lambretta will Founded in 1980 by Vittorio Tesserato improve the supply of spare parts for the Lambretta. At a time when the Lambretta is being treated like an absolute stepchild, and not just in Italy. Almost forty years later the Lambretta is more popular than ever before and Casa Lambretta has made the range so broad and deep that the spare parts supply is better than ever. From parts for the Model A to those for the dl 200, almost everything is available today: Casa Lambretta shop
Most important parts supplier worldwide
Casa Lambretta is much more than the -probably- the world's most important parts supplier for the Lambretta. But we'll get to that another time.
You will find Casa in Rodano, part of the metropolitan city of Milan (formerly the province of Milan). Not far from Linate Airport and approximately 15 minutes from the Centro Studi and the former Innocenti factory premises in Lambrate.
And here, in his origins, lies one of the reasons why Vittorio, fortunately for us, focused so much on the Lambretta. This is how Vittorio tells us:
Casa Lambretta moved into the current business premises in 2010. Shortly afterwards we visited him in order to bunker parts before the Italian summer break and to help our then and now current Julia with the acquisition of her first Lambretta. A wonderfully beautiful SX 150. We reported here .
Prodotto in Italia
Meanwhile, Vittorio is in the building 800 square meters of his parts warehouse, the workshop for the three permanent restorers (Mario, Maurizio and Fabio) and his new study. 95% of Casa Lambretta parts are made in Italy. The small percentage of purchased parts is usually marked with an A (= Asia) in Vittorio's parts lists in the Origin category. Vittorio's wife Orietta keeps track of the orders from the Casa Lambretta concessionaires. Greetings to everyone!
Museo Scooter & Lambretta
This is located above the business premises Museo Scooter & Lambretta. We already reported here -> Casa Lambretta Museum, but will also start again here and present the museum, its concept and the exhibits in it in detail.
Casa Lambretta Concessionaire Germany
Since the Eurolambretta 2003 that is Scooter Center of the Casa Lambretta concessionaire Germany and we fondly remember how we, with our friends Roberto Graupner and Markus Fröschen (also best regards!), wrapped up the deal with Vittorio in Assisi. A long-term and intimate friendship has grown beyond the pure business relationship and the love for Lambretta.

So it goes on
In the next few episodes we want to show you the development of the quality of Casa Lambretta parts using a few examples. Introduce the museum and the exhibits in detail and take a look at the beginnings of the Casa Lambretta company. Above all, on how Vittorio just shortly before recovered important documents and scooters from the factory.
Get around betta, the Lambretta!
Casa Lambretta footboard strip sets Li family
The supply of spare parts for the Lambretta is probably better today than it has been for fifty years. The range of parts from various manufacturers is getting bigger and more colorful.
We remember with horror the supply of spare parts at the time we did it Scooter Center Started in 1992. Even if the parts did fit, the gray tones of the rubber parts of a series 3, for example, changed from whitish yellow to anthracite. Supplying series 1 and 2 parts was hard to imagine.
We are Casa Lambretta dealers for Germany
Fortunately, we have been since the beginning of the new millennium Casa Lambretta dealer for Germany. A nice report on the history of Vittorio Tessera and Casa Lambretta can be found in the November and December 2017 issue of Scootering. The report is currently also available online:
https://www.scootering.com/scootering-classics-story-of-vittorio-tessera/
There is an outline of the history of Casa Lambretta, which began in 1979/80. So not that long after the end of production of the dl / GP series. The parallel between Vittorio's experiences with Lambretta in the early days and those of the Lambretta drivers in the early nineties is particularly beautiful. Where a minority had to acquire a thick skin to justify the Lambretta. But we seem to digress ...
Actually, it's about the step rails from Casa Lambretta for the Li family. Let's do it chronologically.
Lambretta TV 175 Series 1
It's very easy for the TV 175 Series 1. For the top model from Innocenti, which was built around 10.000 times between 1957 and 1958, there is the

Lambretta LI series 1
With the Li series 1 there is a distinction between the 125 cc and the 150 cc models. The Li 125 comes with continuous aluminum strips at the front and the gray plastic strips on the running boards:

The Li 150 Series 1 has aluminum strips at the front, into which rubber tread strips are inserted and which are closed off by the tread strip end pieces:

Lambretta LI & TV Series 2
After more than 150.000 series 1 Lambrettas have been built, the series 2 is the successor. The solution for the gradation of the models by - among other things - the step rails is retained. The TV 175 Series 2 gets the same floor strips and end pieces as the Li 150.
Lambretta LI series 3
With the Series 3 it's very easy. Here, all models get the same set of steps made of plastic in gray, paired with inner aluminum strips with rubber inlay and step rail end pieces as a finishing touch:

Lambretta dl / GP
In the case of the dl / GP series, in addition to the color - black instead of gray - only the design of the treadboard end pieces and of course the specific lengths at the front for the other leg shield of the dl / GP compared to series 3 changes:

Built according to original Innocenti plans
The nice thing about the Casa Lambretta parts is next to that excellent quality the fact that many parts after the original Innocenti drawings are manufactured. The correct mounting material is included in the scope of delivery.
Made with original tools
In the case of the plastic step strips for Series 3, the attention to detail can go a little further. They are cast on the original tools by one of the original manufacturers for Innocenti. So they correspond exactly to the original in every aspect. Also with regard to the corrugation on the top. An advantage that should not be underestimated for an accurate restoration.

Scooter Center
Scooter Center is CASA PERFORMANCE - dealer Germany
Thanks to our good relationships in the Lambretta world, we are of the Dealer for CASA PERFORMANCE parts in Germany.
Both with Vittorio Tessera from Casa Lambretta as well as with Dean Orton from the Rimini Lambretta Center we are not only connected on business, but also on friendly terms. We only recently got to know about our collaboration with Vittorio in connection with Lambretta benches lost a word or two. Maybe more will come soon.
More than just a "business relationship"
Just as good is our relationship with Dean Orton and the entire Rimini Lambretta Center team. Mutual visits to Open Days and Custom Shows are always a great pleasure far beyond work and usually end in the early hours of the morning.
Our visit to the Open Day from Rimini Lambretta Center in April 2015 gave us the first foretaste of the upcoming Casa Performance Performance. So we were allowed to test the shop demonstrator with 305 BSG Corse Motor and finally on the Corso. Quite an impressive experience.
Our Casa Performance range
We are constantly expanding our range. If you need something that we don't have yet, just write an email to lambretta@scooter-center.com and we'll see what we can do for you.

Made in Italy: handmade bench covers by Casa Lambretta
We have been working very closely with Vittorio Tessera from Casa Lambretta for many years. Our cooperation is based on a friendly relationship and a love for the vehicles from Milan.
Casa Lambretta produces Lambretta parts for the Li family (Li, TV, LiS, GT, SX, dl and GP) the small Lambrettas Junior and LUI as well as for the early cardan models.
In addition to reproducing parts, Vittorio Tessera has a considerable collection of various scooters that he makes available to the public in the Museo Scooter & Lambretta. As a rule, he also likes to take the time for a personal tour:
Lambretta literature
As if that weren't enough, Vittorio also wrote the standard works on Lambretta. Here you will find almost all information about Lambretta and the special features of the vehicles as well as changes within the model series.
Lambretta tuning
For some time now, Vittorio has also taken up the topic of tuning and is together with Dean Orton the head behind the Casa performance Share.
Handmade Lambretta seat covers
The Casa Lambretta seat covers are handcrafted in Italy. The covers for the Li family come as standard with the INNOCENTI shield as it was used until 1968:

Color of the seams on the Lambretta's seat cover
A popular and controversial question is the color of the seams on the seat covers. Would the seams have to be white or the same as the color of the seat? For this purpose, Vittorio sent us a couple of original photos from Innocenti, which show the color of the seams. Nice to see in the photo with the two Silver Specials that both end caps on the seat belt were used during production.

Lambretta Racing
We supply the Casa Lambretta Racing Team from Vittorio Tessera with a selection of our high quality bgm PRO LambrettaProducts.
The racing team is very successful and is currently clearing all prizes across Europe. We are pleased that we can contribute to this with the bgm parts. The following parts are built into the Rennlambrettas:
bgm PRO parts
- Rear shock absorber -BGM PRO R12 V2 Black Edition, 300-310mm- Lambretta LI, LIS, SX, TV (series 2-3), DL, GP - black article no. BGM7772
Latest version of the Lambretta bgm shock absorber. Compared to its predecessor, many details have been further optimized.
The biggest innovation is the ability to adjust the height of the shock absorber by 10 mm. This allows additional space to be created between the frame and the suction cup.
New features:
- Bushings with silent rubbers mounted
- progressively wound spring
- Rebound and compression damping with marking hard -> soft
- Length adjustment by 10 mmThe proven features have remained:
- massive 14 mm piston rod
- Adjustment of the spring preload
- massive CNC body, anodized
- Clutch -BGM PRO Superstrong 6 discs, 10 springs- Lambretta LI, LI S, SX. TV (series 2-3), DL / GP - 47 teeth article no. BGM8011NR47
The bgm PRO Superstrong Lambretta coupling is the plug & play solution - Made in Germany.
The complete clutch comes with six bgm PRO clutch linings, ten springs that are specially made for this clutch and five 1.5 mm steel plates. The coupling fits plug & play without spacers or other fiddling.
The friction surface of the six discs in connection with the supplied springs is calculated to transmit a torque of 60Nm. For more moderate setups, we optionally offer softer springs.
If other springs are to be used, please make sure that their block size does not exceed 15mm. All CNC machined parts of the clutch are made of 42CrMo4. - Clutch springs -BGM PRO- Lambretta LI, LI S, SX. TV (series 2-3), DL / GP - hard (5,5 turns) - 10 pieces Article No. BGM8010FX
bgm PRO clutch springs are made in Germany and are subject to continuous quality testing. The Oteva70® material used makes the springs block-stable and true to size. The spring does not deflect sideways until it is blocked; when relieved, it returns to its original length. The clutch spring retains its full spring force. The spring rate is significantly tighter than that of an original spring - ideal for engines with increased performance. - Clutch linings set including steel plates -BGM PRO Superstrong Racing Red- Lambretta LI, LIS, SX, TV (series 2-3), DL, GP - 6-plate article no. BGM8006KT
The bgm PRO Superstrong clutch linings in the "Racing Red" version are among the best-performing linings on the market. The heavy-duty organic pad mixture is created for the high pressures and high temperatures in racing. The high-quality covering material is thinner than a conventional cork covering. This enables an additional friction disc to be installed in the entire Racing Red pad package.
- Cable set -BGM PRO- Lambretta DL, GP Article no. BGM6401N
Revised version of the proven Lambretta bgm PRO cable set. The well-known features such as the correct length of the outer and inner sleeves, the outer cable with a PTFE sleeve for smooth operation and the detailed plan for laying the cables have of course been retained Inner cables are less susceptible to wear. The clutch cable and front brake cable now have inner cables with pear nipple adapters. This ensures a significantly lower load on the cable at the barrel in the area of the lever. This means that torn clutch cables are a thing of the past. The scope of delivery includes the following cables: gearshift (2x), clutch, front brake, rear brake, gas cable, an additional long inner gas cable for using larger carburetors, choke cable and soldering nipple to adjust the length of non-original ones carburetors. - Coupling socket -BGM PRO- Lambretta LI, LI S, SX. TV (series 2-3), DL / GP article no. BGM8010B
The bgm Pro coupling socket is another innovation in the field of Lambretta coupling technology. A high-quality, special material always ensures optimal sliding behavior. The socket allows the clutch to be separated very cleanly, and the start-up behavior is optimized. The result is a clean coupling without judder, even with very powerful engines. The bushing is manufactured by bgm from a special material (for operation with little lubricant) with high precision from the solid.
- Heavy-duty, special material
- Made in Germany
- Clean separation behavior of the coupling
- Start-up without chattering
- Circumferential lubrication groove
- Suitable for Lambretta LI, LI S, SX. TV (series 2-3), DL / GP

Bon voyage - Dean visits this Scooter Center with the BSG Corse Lambretta
Dean Orton, the founder of Rimini Lambretta Center visited us in Scooter Center. On his way from Rimini via the Venlo Scooter Run to the ESC race at the Harz Ring, he stopped by for a few days. Dean use the trip to the BSG Corse engine to test its suitability for everyday use and travel. In doing so, it was anything but sparing the engine.
BSG Corse Lambretta test drive
The test drive should be as real as possible, so Dean just packed his mod stuff and also:
- another exhaust to test
- all sorts of tools just in case
- Camping equipment
- and what else mod needs
Then he chased the Lambretta through the streets. From Rimini in Italy over the Alps to Austria and over Germany to Venlo in Holland. The way home then takes him back via Germany, past us and then on to the ESC race at the Harzring.
130km / h cruising speed with reduced 50PS
He reels this distance relatively relaxed at a constant cruising speed of 130km / h. And that with sufficient reserves to be able to overtake at 150km / h. Considerable when you consider the very short gear ratio of only 4,9. With this powerful motor, other speeds can also be achieved.
The CNC manufactured 305cc cylinder is throttled to approx. 50PS via the programmable ignition. Unthrottled, the engine already produced 63PS on the dynamometer at the Rimini Lambretta Center.
ESC roller race on the Harz-Ring
A European Scooter Challenge race will take place on the Harz-Ring this weekend. Dean meets the Casa Lambretta Racing Team here. The first tests and preparations for the race will take place on Friday. The Casa Lambretta racing scooters are equipped with the new parts of the Casa Lambretta Performance parts and some bgm PRO parts. We have the Casa team with the complete bgm PRO Lambretta chassis, the bgm PRO Lambretta silent blocks and the bgm PRO Superstrong Lambretta clutch equipped.
Our first time!
Even if we've known each other for ages and that Scooter Center Just as the Rimini Lambretta Center was founded around the same time, we already met at various events across Europe, but this year we managed to visit each other for the first time.
In April we went to the Open Day and had a great time there in this brilliant Lambretta shop with our Italian friends, great Italian food and of course many great and unique legendary Lambretta models such as the Lambretta two-cylinder prototype and the BSG 305 Lambretta.
Here is the video from the Corso, Philipp on the BSG Lambretta
On Monday So it was finally time, it was an honor for us Dean im Scooter Center to welcome. We loved every second and there were lots of stories old and new to share and it was very fun. After a few “business talks” we had dinner together and it got very late. Dean praises ours Scooter Center Generation XI Smallframe Vespa the most beautiful object in the universe - just one breath later our bgm demonstrator Lambretta than that ugliest Lambretta in the world to brand. Mhhhh…. Since we were already confronted with this opinion at the Riva del Garda Customshow 2013, there had to be some truth to it. So we had to do something about it. So we decided to make the Lambretta available to him and to adapt the optics to the perfect mechanics.
Tuesday Dean tests the Lambretta on the streets of the beautiful Rhineland and came right on time for the traditional afternoon tea to discuss some new Lambretta products.
On Thursday Dean actually wanted to look at our order process. Unfortunately, we got the glorious idea to test his scooter and both exhaust systems on the test bench. The diagrams of our P4 dynamometer almost coincide with the diagrams driven in Rimini. Time flew by and after dinner Dean was already on the way to the Harz-Ring.
Many greetings to the entire Rimini Lambretta Center team and to Vittorio with his Casa Lambretta Racing Team - we keep our fingers crossed for the race

Spare parts, accessories and tuning parts for all Lambretta scooters
With Casa Lambretta we deliver all of them to you Lambretta restoration parts. The Casa Lambretta range extends from the parts for the very old Lambretta cardan models m (A) to F, to the Lambretta Smallframe Parts for the Junior and Lui models through to spare parts for the Li family. Next Spare parts “Made In Italy” offers Vittorio Tessera also Accessories and Tuning parts for all Lambretta scooters.
The whole Casa business is very fixated on Vittorio and he is the linchpin for all reproductions. In the recent past have become Dean Orton and that Rimini Lambretta Center offered as an external quality control for Casa. This is how the Casa products are made continuously improved. The latest example is that Toolbox lock for series 3that has got a new lock cylinder and now finally no longer attracts attention by rattling noises.
In addition to the need for restoration, Vittorio Tessera has quite a few Books on the Lambretta and written about scooters in general. With the book Innocenti The Definitive history does Vittorio have that Standard work on the Lambretta created. The book was later expanded to include the Restoration Guide. All the details on the restoration of the various Lambretta models are explained here:

In the footsteps of the Scooter Center History on Lake Garda
The video for the first stage
The first stage destination was Lake Garda. Here we visited old friends, enjoyed Italy and remembered the old stories with joy. Lake Garda plays an important role in the 23-year-old History of Scooter Centers .
In Malcesine, Oliver Kluger had it back then very first scooter for the Scooter Center bought and transferred to Germany - it was one Vespa Rally TS 125. The Vespa was later refurbished and sold in Cologne. Volker bought it back then and still drives it today. He is our very first customer and of course still loyal to us today. While we are better known for our fast delivery of scooter spare, tuning and spare parts, we have a momentum at the moment used Vespa scooters on offer.
After a short night, it starts very early on Saturday to Rimini. The route sounds like music to your ears: “Verona, Mantova, Modena, Bologna, Imola, Rimini” and the closer we get to the goal, the greater the anticipation.
The Rimini Lambretta Center and Dean Orton
The Rimini Lambretta Center has been a good customer for years and supplies us with the CYCLONE 5 speed Lambretta transmission, The Maxi Flusso Lambretta intake manifold and the new one Casa Lambretta Performance cylinders.
That this Lambretta 5 speed gearbox is more than just a scooter part for Dean, you can also tell by that CYCLONE 5 Tattoo on his forearm. We mainly supply Rimini with ours bgm products, which they also use for their restorations. The Lambretta restorations are also the main business of the team around Dean Orton. The RLC loves and lives Lambretta. Spectacular Lambretta scooters are created in the impressive workshop. So the anticipation and our expectations were great and we should not be disappointed ...
Rimini in Emilia Romagna

After a warm welcome from many old friends, it is time to set up the stand. Which is done very quickly because Philipp sent the goods for the stand to the wrong address ... :-) Fortunately, we were able to help ourselves from the RLC warehouse and equip the stand.
Rimini Lambretta Center OpenDay
The area around the RLC quickly fills up with mostly Italian and English Lambrettisti. It was about 500 visitors on site with about 120 lambrettas and just a handful of Vespas.
Dean has to XNUMXth anniversary of the RLC quite turned up. When you enter the shop, you are first met by one Lambretta world record car Received: The fully disguised Lambretta that died on August 8th, 1951 200 km/h Broke mark over the flying kilometer. Romolo Ferri has the world record drove out on the closed autobahn between Ingolstadt and Munich. The mechanically charged one 125 cc engine should have around 21 hp have had.
A huge mobile pizzeria supplied the visitors with the finest specialties from the region, there was also plenty of vino, aqua, beer and a café.
Spectacular Lambretta test drive
The RLC had closed a circuit for public transport so that the scooters could be tested - once around the industrial park.
In addition to the scooters built by the RLC, it is mainly scooters from the Casa Lambretta collection that can be driven here. The two are in the focus of those present Lambretta Innocenti two-cylinder prototypes. This has Vittorio Tessera have the RLC processed in the last few months. In the June issue of scootering the reconditioning down to the innards of the engine will be presented. We also tested the original Innocenti two-cylinder prototypes. And here you can only say: it's a shame that it didn't make it into series production.
Lambretta with 305cc and 50PS
305cc and over 50PS - the hardest we have ever ridden: the BSG CasaPerformance 305cc prototypes. CNC engine block with 305cc BSG cylinder, Cyclone5 five-speed gearbox and bgm PRO Superstrong clutch. This monster brings about 50 PS. For the test drives, the Lambretta was castrated to 45 hp via the programmable ignition. At the exit on Sunday we had the opportunity to test it extensively, the video of the exit follows in the second part. Watch this space!
BSG Corse had scooters with impressive performance. Especially the Vespa Smallframes raced across the course at dizzying speeds. They were later joined by the legendary Signor Angelo Zirri and almost the entire Italian Smallframe Tuning scene was on site.
Unfortunately, since even the most beautiful events come to an end, at some point it will be dismantling!
Fortunately, there is still the joint dinner and the nighter with a great view over the mountains!
Nighter in the mountains of Emilia Romagna
The common meal and the allnighter took place in an osteria in the mountains. Fantastic location with a view of the lights of Rimini and San Marino in the distance.
Lots of nice conversations, lots of Italian snacks and a few vinos later we fell into bed sometime in the early morning. The rest was only brief and the recovery little, because the next highlight was already a few hours. On the exit we had the opportunity to test the 305cc prototype, especially with regard to the built-in bgm parts.

It has finally arrived, the Casa cylinder with 186 cc displacement for the engines of the Li family. A dream processing and a tour layout make the first customer happy in Hamburg.
