Vespa trip with donations - collection campaign
For kids with cancer!
Day 10 Vespa Gentleman Giro
After 1144 km in 4 countries and over 4 Alpine passes (Arlberg, Brenner, Staller Sattel and Felbertauern) I am very, very satisfied, grateful and happy! So far, all clubs give everything! The donation amounts are impressive. Yesterday, too, thanks to the Alp Day Charity, another incredible € 1100 was donated to the Children's Cancer Aid Austria's donation account here in Zell am See. Thank you very much Franz F. Schmalzl !! Thanks also to the Vespa Club Pinzgau, who welcomed me to Franzl's garage yesterday!
I'm also very happy with my “Eleanore” with a real 50ccm (Polini). The engine, completely overhauled by the Scootercenter, worked great even with full throttle all day and with heavy luggage and there was not a single breakdown in the total of approx. 2000 km since installation. Only at the Felbertauertunnel was it classified as an obstacle despite a TopSpeed of 60 and I had to “enjoy” the shuttle transfer while sitting on Eleanore in the back of a VW bus. Eleanore was not offended, however.
Today we are heading towards Liezen to arrive in Graz tomorrow. The next day it goes towards Vienna / Tulln.
Today I ride in overalls for once because I still have to do a few small maintenance work and it may still be raining today.
Wish you a great day and don't forget to stay awesome!

Markus has now arrived in Italy with his Vespa via Switzerland and Austria
We don't yet know exactly how he spent yesterday evening and night. I am convinced: the European Football Championship final was definitely a great time for a stage stay in Italy on his Vespa Gentleman Giro!
In any case, one can see from his descriptions: he is so far very happy and grateful for the many nice people he meets and donations he can collect. Of course he enjoys his Vespa and the reliable engine. My greatest respect: almost 1.000 km in 9 days fully packed on an old Vespa with 50 cubic meters ...

“The days are long and eventful! Every day I meet incredibly great people from the clubs and elsewhere - someone at a bar gave me € 20 for gasoline, the staff at the ferry gave me my fare back, club members feed me, take care of me, refuel Eleanore or organize escorts from the club Club. Vincenzo E Katja Pecoraro gave me a mirror for my safety. Newspapers, radio and TV report and I can hardly keep up with the documentation of the highlights, because my days are full from 8 a.m. to often after midnight and of course I don't want to stare at the phone at the clubs but devote myself to them.
Thanks to the Vespa Club Singen Hegau, Scuderia Rallentatore, Vespa Classico Tettnang, BG Crew Zurich and everyone who scooted, grilled and donated with me over the past few days!
You guys are great !!!"
Day 5 Vespa Gentleman Giro
“Second evening in Zurich!
After a great men’s evening with food and beer and an oil change in the BG Crew screwdriver cave, today it was time for a coffee in the Lindt Museum and rain suit shopping. Mine had been on duty every day up to now, but was no longer sealed. So the guys from the BG crew decided to change my clothes. ???!
In the evening, about 30 people from Zurich from the VC Zurich and Vespa Fans Club came to join them and at a relaxed barbecue and despite Wednesday and the somewhat uncomfortable weather, the Swiss collected a whopping 1200 francs in donations ?!
Two great days in Zurich and tomorrow it's on to the Vespa Club Rohrschach!
Thanks to the great organization to the guys! Big cinema !"

Vespa Reise for donations to children's cancer foundations
Markus André Mayer originally wanted to go to one this year with a 1971 and 2,5 hp Vespa 50 25.000 km journey through 40 countries in Europe Visit over 200 local Vespa clubs. Together with the clubs he wants money for 40 national institutions in Fight cancer with children collect.
Due to Corona, this project has now been postponed a bit and Markus started a Germany edition at the weekend, or he is traveling to 2 months through 5 countries, among other things, it will also become ours Scooter Center OpenDay on August 28th be in Bergheim!
The Scooter Center is one of the main sponsors here and of course we built the engine for him for this tour and equipped the Vespa with a bgm PRO Vespa chassis.
Successful start of the tour
Markus reports that the tour got off to a successful start on Saturday. He experienced the first two days like this:
Day 1 Vespa Gentleman Giro
After a nice evening with Vespisti Böblingen, the team from Alvivo and my dear Martina Gödert with good food in the boathouse Böblingen and a night in the hotel, a wonderful event was organized at the Alvivo company headquarters in bright sunshine, we enjoyed the Cafe von der Ape, grilled food Served by volleyball players and good vibes as well as great offers. 420 € were collected on site via patches and stickers and other donations and then a pack of great people on the Vespas accompanied me a long way towards Freiburg im Breisgau, where the VC Freiburg and the scooter friends Südbaden Brewing collective waiting for me. The weather had changed and shortly beforehand I had to go to the terrace of the Hex restaurant in Waldkirch in the rain suit where the landlord insisted on giving me 20 € of fuel. In Freiburg, through patch and sticker sales as well as sausages and generous rounding up, another 600 € came in the donation pot and at 2:30 at night I was able to fall into bed with a great result of more than 1000 € on the first day.
Day 2 Vespa Gentleman Giro
After a good breakfast, Wolle Wide Frame and Olaf Just accompanied me until shortly before Singen! A great ride in mixed weather through the wonderful Black Forest! The engine of SCOOTER CENTER performed exactly like the last 1.200 km without any problems and I was received in proper style by the Vespaclub Singen Hegau and escorted the last few meters to Singen, which attracted the attention of the gentlemanly outfit. A hot grill, cold beer and long and good conversations were waiting for us.
I would like to expressly thank EVERYONE who was there, organized, helped and sent along these 2 days. Of course, all proceeds and donations remain with the clubs, which will transfer them DIRECTLY and without deductions to the German Childhood Cancer Foundation in the coming days.
How does the donation actually work?
> Markus is often asked this question, his answer:
“How does it work with the donations and the trip and so at the Vespa Gentleman Giro and do you pay for my vacation ?!
An important and good question!
Of course, with your donations you will not pay for my trip, my overnight stays or anything else. Thanks to great sponsors, support from my family and also by sleeping on the couch, barbecuing at the clubs, etc., the donations flow 100% directly to the respective children's cancer foundation! "
Where do the donations come from?
Markus explains here in his words:
So, on the one hand, people simply donate directly to the campaign of the children's cancer foundation in your country (for example if the relay of the Vespa Gentleman Giro is handed over to them by another club)
In addition, in order to generate further donations, I have had stickers and patches produced on my own in advance, which I sell together with the club presidents at the events at the clubs. The production costs of 10 € stay with me and 2 € directly with the president of the respective club, who usually sends them to the children's cancer foundation the next day with the total donations of the club.
Clubs and private individuals also donated plaques, pins or other items for sale or auction. These are publicly auctioned during the year and only sent against postage, whereby the payment does not have to be sent to me but directly to the foundation.
It is not possible to give me cash donations and I will not accept any.
Exception: someone specifically and explicitly wants to give me fuel, oil or a meal. But there is a separate Gofundme account or my PayPal.
I hope this post clears up any questions or ambiguities regarding the Gentleman Giro - should anyone still want to know something, please send me a message.
My campaign is 100% transparent and I publish all donations known to me on a daily basis.
So again to take note: Donate 100% Children's Cancer Foundation
Travel costs: 40% sponsors, 30% support for my great family and 30% myself.
This means: 7 months to start, 2 months of travel and another 6 months for the coming year. So everyone can work out what it can cost (cost of living, loss of earnings, insurance, approval, equipment, pre-production of merchandise, postage, website, print material ......)
Vacation is somehow different ”

Paul project
Since 2021 that is Scooter Center official sponsor of the Vespa racing team "Project Paul". On the weekend of July 03rd / 04.07.2021th, XNUMX the team will go to the Scooter Center Cup at the Nürburgring and we keep our fingers crossed for you. We asked Dennis, the team leader from Project Paul, to introduce himself and the team. And Dennis gives us an insight into the genesis of Paul and what is behind the sport.
Hello!
My name is Dennis Krawatzki and I am the team manager of "Paul project".
Even as a child, I spent a lot of time on racetracks and loved the atmosphere. My entry into motorized locomotion was a PX 1992 in 80. I quickly noticed that such a Vespa is great for tuning. The PX 80 was the entry level and soon I was taking part in various quartermile races with my Rally 200.
In 2008 I - with Support from Scooter Center - participated in a circuit race, the 4-hour race on the Cologne exhibition grounds, for the first time. Since then I've been infected with the racing bug!
With friends, we already founded our first team in 2009 (DART Racing), with which we were able to successfully complete a number of races.
In 2015 the decision was made to set up their own team. It was clear to me from the start that this team should only be supported by friends. Since my father was not only at my side with words and deeds, but also helped a lot with the construction of the chassis (welding work), I decided to secure a permanent place for him in my team. From now on, the new vehicle was to have its second name: “PAUL”.
“Project Paul”, the resulting team name, started with a Falc Racing rotary valve engine in the first year. Over time, I worked with my friends and companions on optimizations and planned until we decided on an M200 motor and the corresponding setup.
Over the years we have grown into a friendly and familiar group with “Projekt Paul”, and that across national borders. Friends from the Netherlands and France have joined the team. I am delighted by your enthusiasm for this project, the shining eyes of everyone involved (whether they are helpers with the construction, our graphic designer Yoleila or fans with specially made T-shirts at the racetrack) when Paul comes around the corner and it starts again every time again. That encourages me again and again to get better and to further optimize the vehicle. This is an important partner - besides my friends, who are always thinking about the setup Scooter Center, for which I have also been working part-time since the 90s, i.e. producing special parts. Here, too, a long-term friendship has developed between Ulf, Oli and me who now want to support the “Paul Project”.
That fits in with our team spirit: FRIENDSHIP.
My friends as drivers, supporters and fans are there with heart and soul at every race. Whether at the racetrack or online from home, they are excited about every race! And because we would like to (experience) this in the future, we are very happy about the support from Scooter Center and look forward to spending time together. For this, our entire team would like to thank you, the Scooter Center team, from the bottom of their hearts!

The idea with the castor oil
Castrol was founded by Charles "Cheers" Wakefield under the name "CC Wakefield & Company". In 1899, Wakefield left his job at Vacuum Oil to start his own business selling lubricants for railways and heavy machinery.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Charles developed an interest in two new motorized vehicles: the automobile and the airplane. His company started developing oils for the new engines. These oils had to be thin enough for a cold start and at the same time thick enough to work at high temperatures. The company's researchers found that the addition of Castor oil a vegetable oil made from castor seeds. They called the new product " Castrol ". 1919 used John Alcock and Arthur Brown Castrol oil on the first non-stop transatlantic flight in history.
Heiko's idea with the Castrol sponsorship & fast too slow
CC Wakefield not only invented a new type of motor oil, but also a new way of attracting potential customers to its product: the sponsorship. The name Castrol appeared in flight competitions, car races, and speed record attempts Banners and flags.
Over time, the brand name of the motor oil has become far better known than that of the company's founder / company. This fact led to the renaming of "CC Wakefield & Company" in 1960 castrol ltd
I have been driving Vespa and Lambretta for over 32 years. It all started with a red Vespa PK50S that, bought used, was waiting for my driver's license in my parents' garage. But that was me fast too slow. The first tuning measure was to mount an expensive 50km / h exhaust. But it didn't do that much, the moped boys were still flying past me to the right and left. So it was sold and I was interested in a black PX 80 Lusso, which was very expensive in insurance at the time. During the test drive, the gears have always been blown out. But I was happy to have my mother ready to buy me this scooter ... also, my father was on a business trip and didn't know anything about the new “80s”. So: now or never! So the scooter was bought with this “little hidden flaw”.
Scootershop, Scootering & Mods, Scooterboys and Scooter Scene
We all know what was wrong with the engine: the reason for the uncontrolled gear changes was the worn “round” gearshift cross. The next Vespa dealer wanted 700 DM for the change, but that was no longer in the budget when I sent my scooter update. I got in contact with other scooter riders.
One of them was still on the skateboard as a skater last week and now suddenly motorized on a brand new Vespa PX 80 Lusso. A month later I met him again, there he was sitting in a suit and polished leather shoes on his Vespa, which was now plastered with mirrors and chrome parts. The next time I met him, half was missing on his scooter and on his head too. Instead of fine leather shoes and a suit, he now wore red boots up to his knees, camouflage pants and a bomber jacket. All that was left of his “popper mane” on his head was a small curl of hair that fluttered listlessly in his face after he took off his helmet. Somewhat irritated, I asked him if he had an accident with the scooter and why he looks so strange. He said he was now a Scooterboy and the scooter was a CutDown!
He had probably discovered her before, she was new to me at the time: the MOTORETTA, the Scootermag and still in black and white. And so the evil took its course. Now the 80s became somehow for me too fast too slow, Schoolmates with DT, RD, MBX & Co and even some mopeds, were faster than me. So if I change the gearshift cross anyway and remove and dismantle the engine, I could make the box a little faster ... In the meantime, I had that too ROLLERSHOP catalog and the SCOOTERING discovered.
The custom paintwork from the glossy magazines fascinated me so much that I sat down in my 80s “children's room” and dreamed of great paintwork and scribbled a few of them on paper. Yes, laugh, these are my collected works:
Castrol sponsorship with the “Castrol Vespa Racer”
Somehow my dreams about custom paintwork didn't come true, so I later took the initiative and asked Castrol to sponsor it. To be honest, I'm a bit uncomfortable right now: I was quite sure that I did it at the age of 16. According to the date of the letter to Castrol, which I found in my “Scooter Scene box”, I was a bit older and already doing community service at the time.
Unfortunately I have the drafts of my "Castrol Racer”With 20 HP and targeted 130-140km / h no longer. I had enclosed the drawings with the letter to Castrol, Motorsport Department. From the letter I found this test print with corrections. But I definitely didn't write to UHU and NUTELLA, MÜHLEN KÖLSCH? Perhaps! I do not know anymore…
But the man from Castrol was very nice, invited me to the IFMA in Cologne and after a short chat in the Castrol truck gave me a few Castrol stickers.
If anyone from Castrol reads this: my offer is still available! This is, for example, my Augsburg Vespa T4:

bgm PRO tuning parts from the Casa Lambretta racing team
Lambretta Racing
We supply the Casa Lambretta Racing Team from Vittorio Tessera with a selection of our high quality bgm PRO LambrettaProducts.
The racing team is very successful and is currently clearing all prizes across Europe. We are pleased that we can contribute to this with the bgm parts. The following parts are built into the Rennlambrettas:
bgm PRO parts
- Rear shock absorber -BGM PRO R12 V2 Black Edition, 300-310mm- Lambretta LI, LIS, SX, TV (series 2-3), DL, GP - black article no. BGM7772
Latest version of the Lambretta bgm shock absorber. Compared to its predecessor, many details have been further optimized.
The biggest innovation is the ability to adjust the height of the shock absorber by 10 mm. This allows additional space to be created between the frame and the suction cup.
New features:
- Bushings with silent rubbers mounted
- progressively wound spring
– Rebound and compression damping marked hard -> soft
- Length adjustment by 10 mmThe proven features have remained:
- massive 14 mm piston rod
- Adjustment of the spring preload
- massive CNC body, anodized
- Clutch -BGM PRO Superstrong 6 discs, 10 springs- Lambretta LI, LI S, SX. TV (series 2-3), DL / GP - 47 teeth article no. BGM8011NR47
The bgm PRO Superstrong Lambretta coupling is the plug & play solution - Made in Germany.
The complete clutch comes with six bgm PRO clutch linings, ten springs that are specially made for this clutch and five 1.5 mm steel plates. The coupling fits plug & play without spacers or other fiddling.
The friction surface of the six discs in connection with the supplied springs is calculated to transmit a torque of 60Nm. For more moderate setups, we optionally offer softer springs.
If other springs are to be used, please make sure that their block size does not exceed 15mm. All CNC machined parts of the clutch are made of 42CrMo4. - Clutch springs -BGM PRO- Lambretta LI, LI S, SX. TV (Series 2-3), DL/GP - hard (5,5 turns) - 10 pieces item no. BGM8010FX
bgm PRO clutch springs are made in Germany and are subject to continuous quality testing. The Oteva70® material used makes the springs block-stable and true to size. The spring does not deflect laterally until it blocks, when it is relieved it returns to its original length. The clutch spring retains its full spring force. The spring rate is significantly tighter than that of an original spring. Ideal for performance-enhanced engines. - Clutch linings set including steel plates -BGM PRO Superstrong Racing Red- Lambretta LI, LIS, SX, TV (series 2-3), DL, GP - 6-plate article no. BGM8006KT
The bgm PRO Superstrong clutch linings in the "Racing Red" version are among the best-performing linings on the market. The highly resilient organic pad mixture is created for the high pressures and high temperatures in racing. The high-quality covering material is thinner than a conventional cork covering. This allows the installation of an additional friction disc in the entire Racing Red pad package.
- Cable set -BGM PRO- Lambretta DL, GP Article no. BGM6401N
Revised version of the proven Lambretta bgm PRO cable set. The well-known features such as the correct length of the outer and inner sleeves, the outer cable with a PTFE sleeve for smooth operation and the detailed plan for laying the cables have of course been retained Inner cables are less susceptible to wear. The clutch cable and front brake cable now have inner cables with pear nipple adapters. This ensures a significantly lower load on the cable at the barrel in the area of the lever. This means that torn clutch cables are a thing of the past. The scope of delivery includes the following cables: gearshift (2x), clutch, front brake, rear brake, gas cable, an additional long inner gas cable for using larger carburetors, choke cable and soldering nipple to adjust the length of non-original ones carburetors. - Coupling socket -BGM PRO- Lambretta LI, LI S, SX. TV (series 2-3), DL / GP article no. BGM8010B
The bgm Pro clutch bush is another innovation in the field of Lambretta clutch technology. A high-quality, special material always ensures optimal sliding behavior. The socket allows the clutch to separate very cleanly, and the starting behavior is optimised. As a result, clean engagement without juddering is guaranteed, even with very powerful engines. The bush is manufactured by bgm with high precision from a special material (for operation with little lubricant).
– Heavy-duty, special material
- Made in Germany
- Clean separation behavior of the coupling
- Start-up without chattering
- Circumferential lubrication groove
- Suitable for Lambretta LI, LI S, SX. TV (series 2-3), DL / GP

BMC / RH Scooter Cup 2011
Final Harzring October 29.10.2011, XNUMX
After an 8-week break from racing, it was time to go to the Harzring at the end of October Grand final of the BMC / RH-Scooter Cup 2011.
Thanks to good placements in the current season, I've got one 23 points ahead worked out on Federico Torsiello, whom I naturally wanted to defend there. The goal was clear - to become champion in the 70cc class again.
Even this year, Petrus played great despite the late date, it was almost t-shirt weather!
Since training and the race took place on Saturday, the training was a little shorter due to the tight schedule. There weren't any major problems for me there, and with a gap of 0,3 seconds behind Federico, I was also satisfied with second place on the grid.
At the start of the first run I held back a little because I wanted to avoid a fall in the first corners. But that is exactly what happened to my opponent in the overall standings. Frederico fell right in front of me on the first lap. Now I had to stay calm and finish ahead of Federico. I let the leader Philip Hasemann drive so that I could fully concentrate on second place. That worked really well, I was waved off second at the finish.
Since Federico crossed the finish line behind me, it was said for me even before the last run:
BMC / RH-Scooter Champion 2011
70ccm / 12inch class
I was now able to approach the 2nd race and the last run in this championship in a very relaxed manner. In the second lap I was able to overtake Federico and Philip and immediately gain a good lead over them. I defended it to the finish and became like that declined as the winner.
In the evening there was an annual award ceremony with a challenge cup and a great closing party that went well into Sunday morning.
So now it's winter break and tinkering time on the scooter!
I would like to thank the Companies Scooter Center and Sava tires for the great support in the 2011 season - THANK YOU !!!
Next year there will be an Official Championship with the title
"German Scooter Championship 2012" give.
The 6 events are again organized by the BMC together with RH-Scooter Race, who did a great job this year.
See you in 2012 / on the racetrack

2. Sport-Fröhling-Cup / Whitsun tournament in Wisskirchen
The SCOOTER CENTER GmbH sponsors the F-youth soccer team from the local sports club SC Glessen. The team is only last Become a hall master. At Pentecost, she celebrated her next success at a major Pentecost tournament:
Also this year the trip for the soccer team of the F-Juniors went from SC Glessen on the early Pentecost Sunday with a lot of luggage in the Voreifel to Wisskirchen.
Nachdem die first four preliminary round games all won were followed by a well-deserved draw in the game against the host's first team. Early on we were behind with 0-1, but in the course of the game Terence managed to equalize 1-1.
Unbeaten (since 5 games ;-)) it went into the last preliminary round match against Etzweiler I. With a double from Terence we achieved an undisputed 2-0 success here as well!
The SCOOTER CENTER promotes the next generation:
We have been sponsoring an entire soccer team since 2008, which has now won the championship title ;-)
The boys have been playing together as "Bambinis" since 2006 SC Glessen (Sport Club - not: Scooter Club) in a team. Meanwhile the “Bambinis” became the “F1”.
Last weekend was the indoor district championships Rhein Erft.
From a staggering 80 (!!) teams, the F1 of SC Glessen took first place.
So the boys are Hall district champion Rhine Erft 2010.
Congratulations and good luck!
