How do I install the bgm PRO variator on a Vespa GTS?

  • with an extra long translation range

The bgm PRO Variomatik uses a shorter V-belt reinforced with Kevlar than is usual for Quasar engines. So our Vario can do a significantly wider translation bandwidth drive without such as with a Malossi Vario, the V-belt can touch the housing. As a result, the bgm Vario translate clearly furtherwithout the engine having to rev up. A huge advantage, especially when the engine needs to be tuned further.

Engine power directly on the rear wheel

The countless dyno and road tests have shown that the 250 / 300ccm Quasar engines do not need any harder or different counter pressure springs than the standard ones. The entire engine power is not dissipated in frictional heat but ends up where it belongs: on the rear wheel.

Vespa GTS variomatic test

With the Piaggio series variator, the engine runs into the limiter much earlier. In terms of the speed axis, the power is maintained significantly longer, which is noticeable in a higher top speed.

Compared to the Polini set, the bgm Vario does not work at an artificially increased speed level to catch an aha effect. The Polini Vario unfortunately buys its (too) high speed level with a poorer efficiency.

Maintaining the same acceleration speed as with the series engine means that our bgm Vario-Kit means that the engine is not subjected to higher loads and that the power output is pleasantly linear. In everyday life, the superiority of the bgm variator can be clearly seen in a direct 1: 1 comparison.

Malossi has now homologated the successful Vatiomatik Multivar 2000 for many vehicles.
So this may Malossi Multivar 2000 can be used legally in road traffic.

Validity of the approval

The parts certificate for the Multivar is valid:

  • for specified vehicles (see usage list)
  • if the installation was carried out according to the installation instructions (see instructions "Downloads")
  • Throttle ring Art. No. M0812673B (included in all sets) is used

If all points have been complied with, an older variator is also retrospectively permitted (do not forget the throttle ring).

The Malossi Multivar 2000

Thanks to a significantly optimized shifting process, the MALOSSI Multivar variator produces very good results even on production engines in terms of improving top speed and acceleration, and without putting any more stress on the engine.

The roller races have been specifically calculated for each model and the useful scope of the sliding surface of the belt has also been expanded.

With such a high level of technological effort, it goes without saying that the Malossi Multivar the best materials and the most modern production methods are used:
