Flywheel puller and suitable holders are the only way to remove the flywheel from the cone of the crankshaft. This is required for all work on the ignition system. But also if you want or need to penetrate deeper into the innards of the engine.

The flywheel holder 2+3 windows is intended for all original Innocenti and Indian flywheels with the corresponding recesses.

The bgm PRO pole wheel has an external hexagon on which the corresponding holder is attached. The holder is supported on the nut of the large silent blocks to hold it up.

There are two variants of the Casatronic ignition, one based on the IDM ignition and the current variant manufactured by Ducati Energia. The pole wheels are blocked with two or three pins on the pole wheel with the appropriate holder.

Both of them are irreplaceable. The compressor is used to relieve the circlip on the Lambretta clutch. After removing the ring, the coupling can be removed.
The clutch nut is tightened with 66 - 74 Nm. For both loosening and tightening the nut, the clutch basket should be blocked with the appropriate tool/holder.

In the mid-1960s the design of the brake drum was changed. At this point, the Series 2 will have three M7 threads instead of the two M6 threads previously used. This goes hand in hand with the use of the retaining ring for the cap nut on the main shaft/brake drum. Our pullers come with both M6 and M7 screws to hold the puller in place. If it is attached to the brake drum, the brake drum is pressed by the main shaft via the large central screw.

The OEM quality of the puller works, but is not the best in terms of haptics.

Casa Lambretta offers the tool in a beautiful workshop quality and it corresponds to the original Innocenti tool.

MBD has optimized the original design and features knurling on the outer edge and a ball in the tip of the central screw. This fits into the recess on the mainshaft and is intended to prevent any damage.

The compressor for the springs in the fork is used to overhaul the fork. Neither the fork links nor the springs and their spring guide rods can be removed from the fork without compressing the springs. 

Both the Casa Lambretta and the MB compressor are based on the original design of the tool. This is sometimes a bit difficult to handle and a third or even fourth helping hand is usually not bad.

The OEM design, on the other hand, is screwed to the fork and handling is very easy and time-efficient. So here: clear purchase recommendation for OEMs.

It is best to pull the crankshaft into the bearing on the drive side. The original drive sleeve with the screw for the front sprocket can be used for this.

The pull-in sleeve is a length-optimized version of the original drive sleeve and offers comfort and speed when screwing. In both versions, the crankshaft must be fixed (e.g. with a connecting rod locking tool.

The Casa Performance version is a rather ingenious further development, in which the crankshaft does not have to be blocked and the shaft is drawn particularly gently into the bearing seat.

The MB tool is still the first choice for dismantling the crankshaft. It is screwed onto the motor housing and then the shaft can simply be pushed out of the bearing seat

Crankshaft drive sleeve puller

Exact copy of the original Innocenti tool. This allows tightly seated drive sleeves to be gently pushed off the crankshaft. The drive sleeve has two holes on the outer end for using the tool. The sleeve and tool are connected to each other with the two knurled screws on the side and then the sleeve is pressed off the crankshaft stump using the toggle.

Main shaft assembly tool

Before installing the gear backlash, it is important that the countershaft is fully torqued into the rear hub bearing. This can be done with the rear brake hub fixed. An alternative to this is Mark Broadhurst's final drive sleeve tool. Once the layshaft is in place, insert the sleeve by locking the socket head cap screw into the layshaft grooves, fitting the special nut provided, holding the sleeve with a wrench and tightening the nut until the layshaft is pulled into place with the correct torque is.

Determination of top dead center and ignition timing

The dial gauges and brackets, which are mounted in place of the cylinder head, are precision measuring tools for determining top dead center and ignition timing. A good choice if you already have an engine on the workbench or engine stand. If you need to do ignition timing with the engine installed, it may be easier to use the buzzwangle, beluga, or similar methods.

Stud mounting tool

Clever tool from BGM for installing stud bolts without damaging them.
Screw the BGM Pro tool onto the stud bolt and counter with the integrated hexagon socket screw. It is braced with the thread of the stud bolt. Now turn the outer wrench flat. How tight should I tighten a screw or nut on the scooter?

Here we have compiled a list of the manufacturers' recommended tightening torques. *

It has probably happened to everyone before, the workshop wisdom: "After fest comes off!" - KNACK and it has already come true.
No problem if you've only destroyed a nut or stud, it can usually be easily replaced. It starts to get annoying when you don't have a replacement.
Thread repair: It gets really annoying when you destroy a thread in the motor housing! This is often time-consuming and usually expensive, especially if it cannot be repaired with a threaded insert, for example. Before the housing has to be replaced or welded, there is often a Thread repair with Weicon Glue possible.

Screw loose?

In addition to too tight, there is of course not enough tight! Too loosely tightened nuts or bolts can be dangerous. You don't even want to think about what can happen if wheel nuts or brake discs come loose. Loose carburetors, intake manifolds or cylinders can quickly damage the engine. Depending on the area of ​​application, there are self-locking nuts or threadlocking !

Always one after the other!

In addition, there is also the even tightening of screws and nuts to be taken into account. Everyone knows that from changing tires, here, for example, tightening is done crosswise to ensure an even fit. In the case of engine housings and cylinder heads, for example, stresses caused by unevenly tightened stud bolts should be avoided at all costs. There are even components that need to be fastened in a certain order. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions here.

Wrong!

Right-hand thread? Left-hand thread? As a rule, nuts and bolts are tightened clockwise (to the right) and loosened counterclockwise (to the left) = normal right-hand thread. But there are also exceptions such as Lambretta pole wheel nut and left mirror: often with a left-hand thread.

Fixed!

Assembly aid for Lambretta Superstrong clutch

For our BGM Superstrong Lambretta clutch, we can now also offer the right centering aid for inserting the springs.

With the centering aid BGM8011TL2 it is very easy to position all springs in their place of use during assembly.

The clutch with built-in clutch compressor system

The BGM Superstrong for Lambretta already has a "built-in" clutch compressor system.

The coupling comes with two screws and long nuts for this purpose.
On the face of the coupling spider, two of the legs are marked with a point, at the bottom of which is the threaded hole for the screw.

Fully practical - and very easy to use:

The cut-out in the centering aid exposes areas for the tall nuts, which are used to preload the coupling for assembly.

The so-called 6- and 7-spring clutches of the Vespa Largeframe Models are still attached with a castle nut.

Often, however, this screw connection is not up to the power transmission.
This often results in the crescent wedge shearing off and the clutch hub twisting on the crankshaft. “Secured” in this way on the stub shaft, the entire clutch cannot be easily detached from the crankshaft as usual after opening the castle nut, but in most cases offers bitter resistance.

Tip: Should you continue to drive one of the 6- or 7-spring clutches, you can attach the clutch our special nut with hexagon head use. Handling is much easier and safer than the conventional castle nut.

The usual use of heavy equipment, large levers that damage the sealing surface for the clutch cover, or even the processing or destruction of the entire clutch with massive use of tools, is no longer necessary.

Special tool for Vespa, Lambretta and Co.

Special cases are, for example, the stud bolts on the engine housing or on the cylinder outlet. It is tight here and the stud bolts are very short. A conventional tool with a roller clamp would inevitably damage the thread or cannot be used sensibly due to the limited space available.

Clever tool from BGM for damage-free installation and removal of studs.

Screw the BGM Pro tool onto the stud bolt and counter with the integrated hexagon socket screw. It is braced with the thread of the stud bolt. Now turn the outer wrench flat. The stud bolt is fixed and is loosened or screwed in. Make sure that the counter-locking is sufficiently strong so that the tool does not come loose.

Main shaft bearing stuck?

Many screw connections on the older Vespa ladies are due to aging, lack of maintenance and standing around forever rotten and sometimes only to be solved with a few deep handles in the bag of tricks.

The end shield for the center mainshaft bearing is one of these cases. The face hole threaded ring made of bare steel had in many cases for decades to establish an intimate connection with the aluminum of the motor housing with the help of acidic, old oil and water.

Our safe special solution

A loosening of this brazen connection sometimes seems impossible. A simple face spanner tends to slip in these cases. We have therefore “built in” the possibility of preloading in our tool.

The key is held under pretension on the threaded ring by the bolt that is supported at the end of the bearing lane of the main shaft. So that can safely reached the breakaway torque required to loosen the nut without the face wrench slipping off.

Even with a very stiff thread, the threaded ring can be loosened without damage. Because the key in the guide has the same thread pitch as the face hole ring, the tool follows the loosening ring with the same preload. It is therefore impossible for the key to slip off.

The tool is driven over the wrench sizes SW22 and SW17. The hard threaded pins are easy to distinguish over their length.
The large pin (L = 25mm) operates the threaded ring with the large inner diameter and the small threaded pin the threaded ring with the small diameter.

Worn-in or jammed piston pins are a horror. With the extractor you simply avoid the danger of accidentally knocking the connecting rod of your crankshaft crookedly.


Removal tool for piston pins

This ingenious tool makes dismantling the piston pin a lot easier. This tool is worth gold, especially for vehicles that are only easily accessible from one side. An example is the Vespa PX, where the distance between frame and cylinder is very narrow and working with pliers is almost impossible. But even with an engine lying on the workbench, a tightly fitting piston pin is often a problem. If you want to drive this out, the connecting rod and piston must be supported in order not to exert any forces on the connecting rod bearings and / or the thrust washers.
The Buzzetti tool solves this problem by supporting itself on the piston and pulling the bolt out via a suitable conical insert with an internal thread. The whole thing is similar to simply unscrewing a screw, so it is extremely simple and still very efficient. In this way, damage to the crank drive can be avoided from the outset and removal is greatly simplified.

My entry into the scooter world was a Vespa PK1986 XL in 50. With the "Fuffie" I made my first experiences with scooter tuning and then in 75 I bought an old PX102 with a few DR 1988ccm and Polini 200ccm cylinders.
