Vespa 125 “Sei Giorni” 1951

1951 - Vespa 125 “Sei Giorni” 1951

The gold medal Vespa Sei Giorni

Aesthetically, this model is similar to the Vespa 125. The Vespa “Six Days” differs from the latter in terms of the tank, the all-round label and a larger carburetor on the right-hand side. It owes its name to participation in the twenty-sixth edition of the “6 giorni” (6 days) event in 1951, where it won 9 gold medals. The Piaggio racing team at the time included Biasci, Cau, Crabs, Mazzoncini, Merlo, Nesti, Opesso, Riva, Romano and Vivaldi. The Vespa 125 “Six days” also won the 1951 Italian Motorcycle Federation Award, in which three pilots with Italian Vespa models stole the show from everyone else (Giuseppe Cau, Miro Riva, Bruno Romano).
