Vespa 98 Corsa

The Vespa 98 Corsa was the very first performance-enhanced Vespa built for racing. The model contested many competitions, including hill climbs, and was able to achieve numerous victories. Derived from the first '98 standard variant, the Corsa was easy to distinguish with its narrower leg shield, curved racing handlebars and aerodynamic design. The engine as the load-bearing element of the vehicle was modified in this type to allow better cooling and more freedom from leaning. Even the starter disappeared due to weight reasons. With an optimized Piaggio two-stroke engine and three-speed gearbox, the scooter reached a top speed of 80 km / h.
