The end of the Vespa V98

In 1948 Piaggio launched a new Vespa. Between 1946 and 1947, 1183 models of the 125cc Vespa were sold abroad (mainly in Switzerland). Towards the end of 1947, Enrico Piaggio decided, for this reason, among other things, to stop production of the Vespa 98ccm and only produce the 125ccm model for the Italian and foreign markets. The new model versions had a handlebar suspension for the rear wheels and a raised bonnet to facilitate access to the engine. The subsequent Vespa series had an even more innovative design thanks to the new ventilation system and the new gear shift system.
