DSSC 1st run Saarbrücken or EFR-Germany Open Class Quatermile

4DSSC 1st run Saarbrücken. Reported on all weather channels and advertised everywhere on the Internet, should it rain in Saarbrücken on Saturday. Still full of optimism (last year it also rained and afterwards it was nice) we left Cologne at 7:30 am and arrived in Saarbücken on time.
The weather god really didn't play along this time and it was really nice to see how many familiar faces and newcomers had come to experience this spark of hope, the smell of gasoline and rubber on the asphalt.

Nevertheless, there was serenity when Stefan announced the cancellation of the event. An alternative date is probably being planned. Some stayed a little on the test bench and on various grills, the others drove back home - just like us. On the way back, the plan was drawn up spontaneously on Sunday with the packed car to Aldenhoven EFR Germany Open Class Quartermile
(http://www.european-fun-race.de/component/option,com_eventlist/Itemid,140/) To drive a racing weekend.

No sooner said than done - in the belief: “There won't be so much going on there - because it's already Sunday”, we only met there a little later.
Luckily we got a start number at the registration, because as it turned out these were limited.

It was already noon and so we took advantage of the break to gear the zip onto the 402 meters adapt. There was a gearbox for the 150 meters from the day before for the DSSC run. We also passed the time a little by watching the event and meeting a few familiar faces from the day before. We were a small but fine scooter matic company, which will hopefully be a bit bigger for the next dates and possibly even gain a few switch scooter drivers!

I think the whole thing offers a nice opportunity for all scooter motorsport fans, whether driven with plastic and V-belt or sheet metal and gearbox, to turn the tap properly ...

I was able to do three runs from around 15:00 pm to 17:00 pm ... but it went until 18:00 pm!
The first was a real test run because I hadn't even ridden the Zip this year and we had just modified it a bit. The second run was a classic among the unsuccessful attempts - forgot the fuel tap - yes, I have to come back in first - but with the last one I was satisfied for the start of the season and I think I also caused a little astonishment among most of the drivers and motorcyclists how fast such a scooter can be.

In this sense, gladly again and then hopefully even more will be possible ...
See you at various events …….
