Vespa Wideframe shock absorber

In the Vespa area, Pinasco is also increasingly taking care of the older Vesps such as Faro Basso, Struzzo, GS3, etc.

The latest litter is the rear shock absorbers for the Vespa Wideframe Models.

Rear shock absorber -PINASCO- Vespa Wideframe 1953-57, Vespa VM1, VM2, VN1, VN2, VB1, VL1, VL2, VL3, GS150

The damper fits into most Vespa without the usual modifications to the lower or upper shock absorber mount Wideframe Models in which the rear shock absorber is already in one piece and the spring and damper are not installed separately.

Pinasco PN 25441009

Thanks to the adjustable preload of the spring, the shock absorber can also be individually adjusted to different preferences or load conditions.

Made in Italy, the damper is available in plain black. It also blends in very inconspicuously with the overall appearance of a classic Vespa.

The two locknuts for changing the spring preload are only noticeable at second glance.

When changing the damper you should also take a look at the upper silent rubber toss.

The Pinasco Wideframe Shock absorber fits the following Vespa models:

  • 125 (VM1T)
  • 125 (VM2T)
  • 125 (VN1T)

Cable entry and blind plugs for Vespa & Co.

Often it is just little things that affect the renovation or the Overhaul of a scooter are missing and therefore sometimes gnaw a lot on the nerves of the screwdriver.

If a little rubber ring, too Grommet called, is missing to connect the battery, to mount the indicators or a blind plug to close holes that are no longer required because another taillight is to be installed -

Rubber stopper 003

those are the little swipes when screwing that really take time and are just annoying.

Rubber stopper 004

An open hole in the side panel is now not necessarily visually convincing. But to avoid the big circus with welding, grinding and painting, you can close these visible, open holes with a blind plug.

Rubber stopper 006

With a Assortment of blind plugs or cable glands one is at least immune to these circumstances.

The tip for every workshop

The assortments cover a large range of the usual diameters that can be found on a roller. All plugs are sorted according to their outer diameter and delivered in a transparent box, so that the scooter workshop stays tidy!

Vespa special tools for oldies

For lovers of the elderly Vespa models up to the GS series or even Wideframes called, we have a nice one Vespa special tools from bgm PRO included in our program.

BGM7913TL (29)

Main shaft bearing stuck?

Many screw connections on the older Vespa ladies are due to aging, lack of maintenance and standing around forever rotten and sometimes only to be solved with a few deep handles in the bag of tricks.

The end shield for the center mainshaft bearing is one of these cases. The face hole threaded ring made of bare steel had in many cases for decades to establish an intimate connection with the aluminum of the motor housing with the help of acidic, old oil and water.

BGM7913TL (1)

Our safe special solution

A loosening of this brazen connection sometimes seems impossible. A simple face spanner tends to slip in these cases. We have therefore “built in” the possibility of preloading in our tool.

BGM7913TL (12)

BGM7913TL (25)

The key is held under pretension on the threaded ring by the bolt that is supported at the end of the bearing lane of the main shaft. So that can safely reached the breakaway torque required to loosen the nut without the face wrench slipping off.

BGM7913TL (3)

Even with a very stiff thread, the threaded ring can be loosened without damage. Because the key in the guide has the same thread pitch as the face hole ring, the tool follows the loosening ring with the same preload. It is therefore impossible for the key to slip off.

BGM7913TL (15)

The tool offers the possibility to use both known wrench sizes of the threaded rings.

  • Hole stitch of the forehead holes 37 mm suitable for the threaded ring with 28 mm Inner diameter
  • Hole stitch of the forehead holes 43 mm suitable for the threaded ring with 35mm inner diameter

BGM7913TL

The tool is driven over the wrench sizes SW22 and SW17. The hard threaded pins are easy to distinguish over their length.
The large pin (L = 25mm) operates the threaded ring with the large inner diameter and the small threaded pin the threaded ring with the small diameter.

Both pens are also available as spare parts just in case.

BGM7913TL (23)

Depending on which threaded ring is to be loosened, the threaded pins that are not required can simply be “retracted” into the tool.

Thanks to its clever construction, this tool can be used for both hole stitch sizes (Ø37 + 43mm). It offers the possibility of pre-tensioning the tool on the nut to be loosened. Due to the identical thread pitch of the tool and nut, the preload is fully retained during loosening, and slipping is impossible.

So you can easily disassociate your Vespa transmission

In order to adjust the play of the gear wheels on the main shaft, you need the corresponding Gear shims and for measuring the transmission, for example, this Feeler gauge in duplicate (2x) (!!)

vespa-gear-distance-feeler-gauge

It is best to start so that the gears will hold securely in the installed state and the transmission can be shifted cleanly into neutral in first gear with a shoulder ring of normal size 1,0mm.

BGM6020 004

If you start with too strong a shouldering under first gear, it could be that the gearshift cross is no longer free between the segments of the gear wheels and wants to thread into the gear wheels in neutral.

BGM6020 015

Therefore, it makes sense to first make the necessary compensation behind fourth gear to place.

BGM6020 002

Check gear play

You can now use the feeler gauges to check the play of the gear wheels.

The installation clearance should be in the range between 0,05mm and 0,15mm lie. In the case of gears that consist entirely of new parts, you can choose the game tighter, as all components are still getting used to each other.

BGM6020 006

Don't choose too little game

However, you shouldn't mean it too well and choose the game too narrow. In operation you achieve exactly the opposite. The hardened surfaces of the gear wheels and shoulder rings then tend to seize and so drastically increase the play within a short time.

If you are single Gear wheels If you want to swap from your gearbox, it is advisable to get one directly Set of shoulder rings in the range of 1,0mm to 1,3mm to be ordered.
And if you're at it anyway, you also have a look at that Switch cross on. Don't skimp on Gear oil and immediately use something new – and equate new seals .

Good tool, suitable for your scooter, always makes work easier.

bgm pro faster flow Vespa si26

bgm PRO FASTER FLOW SI carburettor for the fast Vespa

The SI carburetor series is a million proven design with great potential.

Especially in the last few years, the carburetors are due to their compact design and short suction paths has also become more popular again on performance-enhanced engines.

Buy Vespa Faster Flow carburetors here

With an increase in engine performance the nozzles in the carburetor must also be adjusted. With the current engine concepts, main jets larger than 140 are not uncommon. To a uninterrupted fuel supply with larger main jets To ensure that the carburettor has to be processed quite laboriously or our finished carburettors have to be used:

We can offer you the optimally finished carburettor for your engine project. So you keep the original SI carburetor as a backup and get a professionally tuned carburetor. You can find ours here PRO FASTER FLOW SI carburetor

Safe and fast on the go without losing weight

With the optimized bgm PRO Faster Flow carburetor you can also Achievements well over 20 hp with continuous full throttle drive without losing weight or other problems.

Carburettor already finished
In order to ensure an uninterrupted fuel supply with larger main nozzles, the carburetor must be processed in a very complex way or our ready-made carburetors must be used straight away:

Details on the optimized 26 SI carburetors

With our carburetor tuning Float chamber cover, nozzle holder and holes professionally edited.

In detail, the hole for the float needle is enlarged to 2,8mm and the guide for the float needle is provided with two additional holes for faster fuel supply.

Faster Flow float hole

Important: The sealing surface of the float needle seat is restored with a tool made after drilling.

SI Faster Flow float valve

Fine tuning: The float level is checked and set to 32mm.

SI Faster Flow 029

The 5,2mm float needle is spring-loaded and helps the float needle to have a longer service life - it has to interrupt the flow of fuel several thousand times an hour and then release it again.

SI Faster Flow 042

Fast and constant spray supply up to 180 main nozzle

The enlarged valve bore In the float needle seat and through the additional holes in the guide for the float needle, the fuel flows in unhindered. This means that the fuel level in the float chamber remains constant.

So that the fuel can flow sufficiently quickly to the nozzle assembly, the bore from the float chamber to the nozzle assembly is enlarged from 1,2mm to 1,8mm. This diameter is with a 180 Dellorto main jet equate - this nozzle size can also be used if required.

We are currently not aware of any engines that require a main jet in the region around 180. The Fasterflow therefore still offers reserves in this area.

Touring setup with 25HP with main jet up to 160

In current touring engines with approx. 20-25PS, main jets in the range of 135-160 are often used.

SI Faster Flow 040

Leaning during the acceleration phase or swallowing due to lack of fuel during load changes are a thing of the past with the right nozzle equipment.

25s are the better 26s SI carburettors

On closer inspection you will find that the carburetor marked as 26/26 has an effective bore of 25mm.

SI Faster Flow 041

Vespa SI carburettor with a bore of real 26mm are prone to premature, high wear in the area of the slide guide. Once this sensitive area is worn out, the carburetor is unusable.

Due to the small overlap of slide and guide with a 26mm bore, additional air can cheat past the slide in the worn areas of the guide and strongly influence the running smoothness of the engine.

This goes up to the involuntary revving up while idling and noticeable emaciation or lean jerking when accelerating.

Therefore the bgm PRO 26er SI - carburettors are provided with an optimal effective bore of 25mm.

Tip: bgm PRO Faster Flow fuel tap

Together with our bgm PRO Faster Flow fuel tap the revised carburettors are a perfect system for a reliable fuel supply.

The current version of the Fasterflow carburetor with 25mm is an inconspicuous and permanent companion for many kilometers. The wear of the slide guide is reduced to the possible minimum by a larger overlap.

bgm PRO BigBox on Vespa Wideframe

After his last visit to our test bench, Andreas grabbed the desire to tickle a little more out of the old engine concept of the very early Vespa models.

While still on the test bench, we provided him with information on possible control angles and other measures.
