Today we first visited the hall 9 to have a look at the “new” Lambretta. Our friends from Rimini Lambretta Center present the new Lambretta customized for Vittorio in RLC race style as well as the new Casa performance save parts. Particularly interesting was the rear wheel rim with inner brake disc.

Vespa rod models with reed valve intake

The Wideframe/ rod models (low headlight) Pinasco presented the Nordkapp cylinder with its new feature: the reed valve intake. Of course there is also an intake maniforld, this time not for a Polini CP carburettor, but for a Dell'Orto 22mm carburettor which Pinasco will offer with throttle lever.

Besides the genuine engine casing with three studs and the possible reed valve intake, as already showed at the Vespa world days in Rooms, Pinasco also presented the engine casing with four studs: thanks to this feature it is possible to mount all PX 177 tuning cylinders.

In addition, Pinasco also presented the Zamak rotor for the Flytech ignition which fits the rod models (faro basso) and GS150 engines.

Vespa GS160 / SS180

The GS160 / SS180 cylinder with direct intake looked like a dual carburettor cylinder with oval / long holes for 200cc models.

Wasp Smallframe

For the Vespa Smallframe models Pinasco also presented the new Pinasco engine casings and the crankshafts which are not yet available. On display also further crankshafts with replaceable balance weights.

Wasp Largeframe

Particularly interesting was the new crankshaft for double intake.

Pinasco now offers premounted 225cc engines. 60mm stroke, 225cc, 21,5PS at 26 NM. 10-13-17-20 / 35 gear cluster with 23/64 gear ratio. Flytech ingnition 1,4kg. The item does not include: carburettor, carburettor casing, clutch cover, flywheel cover and complete brake.

The Si28 carburetors are now in VRX-R version with a small foam filter.

Also for Ciao, Si, Bravo and Boxer models there are new spare parts:

Most current version of the Lambretta BGM shock absorber. In comparison to earlier versions, this has been further optimized.
The greatest novelty being the height adjustment of the shock absorber of up to 10 mm. Thus making it possible to generate more space between frame and intake.
    new features:
    - Bushes supported with silent rubbers
    - Progressively wound spring
    - Rebound and compression damping with marks hard -> soft
    - Length adjustment of up to 10 mm
    Proven features remained the same:

Like double pressed cable end sleeves or inner cables, which last longer. Cables for clutch and front brake now come with inner cables with cable barrel. This takes quite a bit of strain off the cables at the lever, making torn clutch cables a thing of the past. The set contains the following cables: Gears (2x), clutch, front brake, rear brake, throttle cable, additional long inner Gas cable to use with larger carburetors, choke cable and solder fitting to adjust length to non-original carburetors.

The BGM PRO clutch bush is another innovation in clutch technology for Lambretta. High-quality, special material always stands for perfect gliding behavior. The bush allows smooth disengagement behavior of the clutch, perfecting your start and resulting in a clean engagement without jolts even for high performance engines. The BGM bush is made of special material (use with a bit lubricant only) and precisely made of one block.
    - Special material for high loads
    - Made in Germany
    - Smooth disengagement behavior of the clutch
    - Start without jolting

Legendary parts fair for vintage scooters, bikes, push bikes and cars in Italy

From the 6th to 8th of November one of Italy's Mostra Scambio took place in Novegro, Milan. Advertised as market for cars, scooters, bikes, pushbikes and the respective accessories, it was and is even more nowadays heavily focused on Lambretta and Vespa spares and scooters. The 64th Mostra Scambio in Novegro brought along summer like temperatures and heavy sunshine during the complete weekend.

Beside the bargains everyone is looking for, the Italian markets convince with the very special Italian atmosphere. And a very broad selection of everything related to by-gone times. Especially all the Lambretta and Vespa afficinados are pleased by the collector's items, spares and accessories.

The dealers focused on Lambretta or Vespa know what they are selling and the prices are okay, but not real bargains. Very often they apologized for the asked price and added that it is Lambretta or Vespa and hence the high asking price. But once you find the dealers that have a bit of everything and that are only roughly in the knowledge of the things they are selling, the chances are there to have the desired bargain.

Mostra Scambio in Germany

If you are looking for a small scale parts fair in Germany, you have to come over on the 9thth of April for Cologne's custom show With Vespa and Lambretta parts fair.

Victor Tessera offers spare parts made in italy but so accessories and tuning parts for all Lambretta scooters.

The entire Casa business is focused on Vittorio. He is the key player for all reproducing parts. Dean Orton and the Rimini Lambretta Center Recently offered to conduct external quality checks for Casa. This is how Casa products are constantly being improved. The toolbox lock for series 3 is a recent example. It was equipped with a new locking cylinder and finally no longer gets anybody's attention due to unpleasant rattle.

Vittorio Tessera does not only do restoration works. He also has published many books on Lambretta and scooters in general. Vittorio's book Innocenti The Definitive History is the core literature on Lambretta. Later the Restoration Guide was added, which explains all details concerning restoration of various Lambretta models:

  • characteristics
  • gloss paints,
  • galvanic processes
  • and anything else you should know.

Lambretta Museum

screen SCOOTER CENTER was glad to visit the 1st Italian Customshow in Riva del Garda.

A nice place associated with scenic landscapes, nice roads around the lake itself. Something you could really enjoy. Something we have seen at least while arriving and leaving. The rest of the time we have spend doing the Scooter Center stall at the custom show and enjoying the weekend at the do's.

The Customshow was organized by Italian's umbrella organization SIR and local club Corsi di Alpi. It took place together with the car and bike show “Motorissma” and the Customshow had a massive hall downstairs. If you would have landed there by accident no one would get the idea that it was the first time for a scooter custom show in Italy. Roughly 60 scooters were on display. There were more Lambrettas on show and the quality of the work was higher as well. Uncommon for us was that the show took place on two days. But even better so we had two nights for relaxing.
