Vespa gearbox for the Wideframe Vespa V30-33, VM, VN, VL, VB1

Even at a second glance the amount is not less, but the gearbox parts from our Italian friend Stefano Benelli rightly enjoy an excellent reputation and are worth every cent! They are essential if you want a reliable gearbox that has been tested in racing.

Lambretta Racing animation

Lambretta Racing

Casa Lambretta Racing Team

We supply a selection of our high quality BGM PRO Lambretta products to the Casa Lambretta Racing Team of Vittorio Tessera.

The racing team is very successful and currently scores wins all across Europe. We are glad to be allowed to contribute with our BGM parts. The following parts are fitted in the racing Lambretta:

BGM PRO products

  • Rear shock absorber -BGM PRO R12 V2 Black Edition, 300-310mm- Lambretta LI, LIS, SX, TV (series 2-3), DL, GP - black, item number BGM7772
Most current version of the Lambretta BGM shock absorber. In comparison to earlier versions, this has been further optimized.
The greatest novelty being the height adjustment of the shock absorber of up to 10 mm. Thus making it possible to generate more space between frame and intake.
    new features:
    - Bushes supported with silent rubbers
    - Progressively wound spring
    - Rebound and compression damping with marks hard -> soft
    - Length adjustment of up to 10 mm
    Proven features remained the same:

Like double pressed cable end sleeves or inner cables, which last longer. Cables for clutch and front brake now come with inner cables with cable barrel. This takes quite a bit of strain off the cables at the lever, making torn clutch cables a thing of the past. The set contains the following cables: Gears (2x), clutch, front brake, rear brake, throttle cable, additional long inner Gas cable to use with larger carburetors, choke cable and solder fitting to adjust length to non-original carburetors.

The BGM PRO clutch bush is another innovation in clutch technology for Lambretta. High-quality, special material always stands for perfect gliding behavior. The bush allows smooth disengagement behavior of the clutch, perfecting your start and resulting in a clean engagement without jolts even for high performance engines. The BGM bush is made of special material (use with a bit lubricant only) and precisely made of one block.
    - Special material for high loads
    - Made in Germany
    - Smooth disengagement behavior of the clutch

Le BruttePieghe SC - 13 ° edition EuroZero

We participated in the 13 ° edition of EuroZero Scooterrun of the Le BruttePieghe SC in Italy. The meeting was held in Arco, close to Lake Garda. Lago di Garda is, as you know, of particular importance to us:

It was at Lake Garda Where more than 25 years ago the story of Scooter Center has started Malcesine, located in the midst of lovely olive groves on the eastern shores of Lake Garda, is where Oliver Kluger bought Scooter Center's very first scooter (a Vespa Rally TS 125), which was then sold to “Mod-Volker” from Cologne. Volker is still driving this excellent Vespa, he was our very first customer and is still loyal to us.

Video about the meeting of Le BruttePieghe SC

Even in Italy the sun doesn't always shine. So we saw quite a bit of rain that weekend (just like anywhere else). Luckily rain stopped for a while in the afternoon, so that the corso could take place. We personally cannot imagine a more beautiful setting for a ride out with scooters. Goose bumps. The following niter with scooterists sound was crowded with partying until the early hours.

If you ever got the chance, you really should participate in a scooter meeting in Italy. The SIR is the umbrella organization. You will find scheduled meetings here: SIR - Scooter Club Italiani Riuniti

PARMAKIT Scooter Power Parts 100% Made in Italy

We have been on Italy tour for you again. This time we have been heading for Parma in Emiglia-Romagna. And just as it has been the case for our visit of the Rimini Lambretta Center, we haven't seen much of the scenery. Sightseeing wasn't part of our program - we wanted something a lot better: We were heading for the industrial area and PARMAKIT.

Parmakit Vespa scooter tuning

Friendly business

PARMAKIT had already visited us and had a booth at our Custom show in Cologne. Now was the time to visit them in Italy. Currently you can still take part in us PARMAKIT - raffle

“Dolce Vita”, “Bella Italia” and “sun always shines in Italy”?
Not at all. At the beginning of May we had snow on the Brenner Pass and rain in Parma. But a warm welcome at PARMAKIT made us feel a lot better and we were allowed to take a look behind the scenes of the renowned company. We were overwhelmed by them know-how, diversity but especially by quality and performance of their products.

PARMAKIT stands for the highest quality and 100% MADE IN ITALY

Just as we take it with BGM, PARMAKIT cooperates with companies and suppliers in the region to ensure a constantly high level of quality.

Having scooter racing in the blood

PARMAKIT started in racing and these kind Italians also live racing to the fullest. Last weekend they won the POLINI-CUP. They are currently pepping up the ESC - European Scooter Challenge. The next race they intend to win is the BSSO - British Scooter Racing coming weekend in East Fortune close to Edinburgh, Scotland. The experiences made in racing are incorporated in the development of the Italian products with extremely high standards.

Parmakit at Scooter Center

We and PARMAKIT will cooperate even closer in the future, share experiences and enlarge our product range. Stay tuned!

This short video sums up our impressions:

Vespa & Lambretta feeling like gold diggers in Milan

We have all heard them. Stories of Vespa and Lambretta spare part shops that, at some point in time, went burst.
It is said, that their old warehouses are still cramped full with NOS (New Old Stock) treasures. These parts are waiting to be found by us! At least that's what we thought.old-vespa-lager_03vespa-lambretta-nos-italia

We got in touch with our old friend Claudio and quickly managed to gain access to a Forgotten warehouse of parts for Vespa and Lambretta close to milan.

Tons of old scooter parts in Milan

When we entered the warehouse, we had to hold our breath! Tons of NOS parts were piled up to the ceiling - on 2 stories - just waiting to be found. IMG_3606vespa-lambretta-nos-italia

Vespa and Lambretta treasures

But euphoria was hit by disillusionment. How to actually find Vespa and Lambretta treasures when these are hidden in APE and Piaggio Ciao, SI and Bravo moped parts? Claudio supported us in flipping through old, dusty lists and checking the merchandise management of the '60s - index cards. Here we go. We found the old treasures of old new parts for Vespa and Lambretta.

On the hunt for rare Vespa and Lambretta parts

Working with the "merchandise management" turned out to be a tough challenge. So we decided to take a cart and check shelf by shelf. We slowly tackled thick layers of dust.

In the end we had oily hands, were covered in dust, but we were happy and headed home with a VW van full of rare parts for Vespa and Lambretta.

The most beautiful Vespa at Lake Garda

The most beautiful Vespa is ours Scooter Center Demonstrator, Generation XI. It is a Primavera ET3, which is a Vespa of the highest quality, both in technology and looks. The latter thanks to Arrow design from Austria. This Vespa has already been awarded with many prices by various international custom shows. Awesome work of our old friend Pfeili.

“The most beautiful Vespa on earth". This also is a quote by Dean Orton. If he as the very model of Lambrettistas says so, we won't disagree. But we'll say thank you.

Mission two of our trip to Italy:

The guys at Kerresinhios are well known for them happy family games, which are lovingly designed and depict classic scooters. The first edition already turned into a sought after collectors item.

We wanted to find an awesome location for a photo of our demonstrator “Generation XI” at Lake Garda that could be part of the new Kerresinhios happy families “Scooter scenes”.

Scooter Center and Lake Garda

Lake Garda. But why? Lake Garda plays an important role in the history of Scooter Center. More, Generation XI is a very special scooter by Scooter Center. we have put our heart and soul, sweat, brains and love for technical and optical details in it.

Therefore we considered a photo of this custom Spring ET3 in front of our shop or the Cologne Cathedral to simple and unimaginative. And we were around Lake Garda for another mission anyway. So it seemed the right thing to have a photo shoot 1,000 km from home at Lago di Garda. You will see the result soon in the most current Kerresinhio happy families game.

Best wishes from Lake Garda :-)

Off to Verona with our BGM Lambretta

Mission one of this trip to Italy: Our BGM testing bike is equipped with the finest parts of BGM PRO and Casa Lambretta. A Lambretta which is technically on the highest level.

Design follows function

you already know what Dean OrtonRimini Lambretta Center) thinks of the looks of the BGM demonstrator Lambretta. According to Dean Orton it is the most ugly Lambretta in the universe.

Lambretta test bike

When assembling this Lambretta other things were more important than its design. Any fitted BGM PRO part Has Been put through its paces on our test bike before being mass produced. This bike was also available to our customers test rides on several occasions. We obviously needed an easy-care paint. Furthermore:

Tuning quotes

  • Design follows function
  • Chrome won't bring you home
  • Rust is lighter than carbon

Dean, please MODify our Lambretta

Still, “most ugly Lambretta” - we couldn't stand this! Dean is not entirely wrong though. This is why we didn't hesitate when he had offered to refine the looks of our Lambretta. Rimini Lambretta Center is our Italian BGM dealer. Dean, the very model of a mod, actually wants to assemble a BGM demonstrator for the Italian market. So once he's at it….

La Dolce Vita

Last week we took the Lambretta DL to Verona and parked it at a friends place. It was a very warm welcome and handing the Lambretta over took one or two glasses longer than initially planned. We love Italian hospitality.

Dean picked up the scooter and brought it to the hallowed halls of RLC Rimini Lambretta Center to refine it. We will keep you posted here in the Scooter Center Blog, so that you are always up to date with the development of the new BGM PRO Demonstrator Lambretta.

Note for a reader who just came across our blog: No need to worry about owning the shop most ugly Lambretta... First of all we are currently changing this and secondly we are proud to also own the probably most beautiful Vespa on earth ...

Off to the Promised Scooter Land by Vespa and Lambretta

We love Italy and recently toured beautiful Italy. Italy is obviously the birthplace of Vespa and Lambretta. VW bus with Vespa and Lambretta in Italy-sc

And how could things be any different: More than 23 years ago story of Scooter Center has begun right there, at Lake Garda in Italy. Which should be the case for anyone part scooter shop.

The entire Casa business is focused on Vittorio. He is the key player for all reproducing parts. Dean Orton and the Rimini Lambretta Center Recently offered to conduct external quality checks for Casa. This is how Casa products are constantly being improved. The toolbox lock for series 3 is a recent example. It was equipped with a new locking cylinder and finally no longer gets anybody's attention due to unpleasant rattle.

Vittorio Tessera does not only do restoration works. He also has published many books on Lambretta and scooters in general. Scooter Center visit POLINI in Bergamo

Polini headquarters in Bergamo

Polini is famous for Vespa tuning parts and scooter and motorcycle motor sports. You can buy high-performance tuning products of high quality at Scooter Center at a great cost-benefit ratio: POLINI scooter shop

The roots of the family business are a small push bike production site in Bologna. After WWII Polini Battista initially built bicycles. We got to know his sons and grandsons during our visit. Today they very successful continue to manage the business.

the video

A perfect family business. We meet at least three generations of the family. All of them work in various positions within the company. We were introduced to yet another family member at every corner. They work in the company as well engineers, design engineers, photographers, designers and managers.

Today, only a badge and some old pictures by the entrance to the Polini headquarters remind of its roots. Today Polini is no longer in the bicycle business. Or almost. Polini wouldn't be Polini if they didn't even tune an e-bike.
You can now purchase a tuning kit for e-bike engines of eg Bosch or Panasonic with considerable performance enhancement from 25 to 50 km / h.
But let's turn back to real motor sports.

Lambretta Rally

Try Cromate SC, the local Lambretta Club, organized an awesome ride out in the soft hills in the region of Emilia Romagna on Sunday as a side program to the Rimini Lambretta Center Open Day.

Entire video

You can find the video of the entire ride out beginning at the stop at Europlastsucci with GPS - measured speed display. Enjoy:

Yummy stopover

In a well organized corso of about 50 lambrettas we reached our first interim goal after a few kilometers: Europlastsucci. An old customer and manufacturer of GRP frame sections and further Lambretta specialties.

In order to regain strength for the rest of our ride out and as mental preparation for lunch we have an Aperitif. After adjusting the tick-over rpm with Prosecco and other non-liquid refreshments we leave the city and cross the mountains in a great track.

Lambretta BSG Corse with 45HP and 305cc

Of course we have already had the opportunity to drive many extremes scooters. Goal Philipp's scooter for the corso was a doozie:Lambretta Scooter Center Italy

BSG Corse Lambretta with 305cc cubic capacity and performance of more than 50 HP. The most violent we ever rode. CNC - engine block milled from one single piece, 305cc BSG Corse cylinder, Cyclone5 5 speed gearbox and BGM PRO Superstrong clutch. This monster has more than 50 HP. The demonstrator was downsized from 51HP to 45HP via ignition for the RLC Open Day.

First impression:

The beast has instant throttle control and within a blink of the eye you exceeded 100km / h. Thanks to BGM PRO SUPERSTRONG clutchSwitching gears is clear, easy and very smooth, the 5 speed gearbox perfectly transferred. Power without limits and pressure in every gear.

Lambretta with a high amount of performance

The CNC engine has a crankshaft with wide crank webs. In order to securely transfer the performance of the 305cc cylinders to the street, the proven components BGM PRO shock absorbers and BGM silent blocks are used for the wheel suspension. Due to the enormous cubic capacity the exhaust is large. However its distance to the ground is sufficient for it to not put down on the street, even in hairpin bends. A vehicle of such a high performance also needs a strong braking system. RLC uses aa MMW disc brakes.

There is a high amount of performance in this engine, so it doesn't come unexpectedly that the frame hits its limits since the original engine offers only a fifth of performance when being compared to the BSG Corse engine

Thanks to Dean Orton for this amazing experience! And thanks to Try Cromate SC for this beautiful day!

Rimini Lambretta Center 20th Anniversary Open Day / Rimini

Following in the tracks of the history of Scooter Center by the Lake Garda

Video of the first leg

Lake Garda was the first interim target. We visited old friends, enjoyed Italy and wallowed in memories. In its 23 years of existence history of Scooter Center Lake Garda plays a crucial role.

Back then, Oliver Kluger bought it very first scooter for Scooter Center and transported it to Germany. The Scooter was a Vespa Rally TS 125. Later, the Vespa was processed in Cologne and resold to Volker, who is still driving it today. He was our first customer and naturally sticks to us. You rather know us for a quick delivery of spare and tuning parts for scooters. However, we currently have several used Vespa scooters we offer.

The night was short and the journey continued early on Saturday morning, heading to Rimini. The track to travel sounds like music to our ears: “Verona, Mantova, Modena, Bologna, Imola, Rimini”. Our anticipation grows, the closer we get to our destination.

The Rimini Lambretta Center and Dean Orton

For years the Rimini Lambretta Center has been a good customer and supplies us with 5 speed Lambretta Cyclone gearbox, Maxi Flusso Lambretta intake manifold and the new Casa Lambretta Performance cylinders.

Rimini Lambretta Center

The 5 speed Lambretta gearbox is more than a mere part of a scooter to Dean. You know this once you saw it CYCLONE 5 Tattoo on his forearm. We mainly supply BGM products to RLC, which are used for their restorations. Lambretta restorations are the main business of Dean Orton and his team. RLC loves and lives Lambretta. Overwhelming Lambretta scooters are created in an impressive garage. Our anticipation and expectations were immense and we should not be disappointed.

Rimini in the region of Emilia Romagna

"Rimini: the Adriatic, center of beach tourism - a seaside resort with a long tradition, beach, sun, sea." But we had more important things to do! Our destination was the Zona Industriale: The 20th anniversary and Open Day of Rimini Lambretta Center.
After a heart warming welcome by many old friends, we started to put up our stall. This was quickly accomplished, since Philipp had sent the products we wanted to display to a wrong address ... :-) Luckily we were allowed to display products from the RLC stocks.
bgm tuning Scooter Center in Rimini at Rimini Lambretta Center

Rimini Lambretta Center Open Day

The grounds around the RLC were quickly filled with mainly Italian and English Lambrettisti. There were overalls 500 visitors with about 120 lambrettas and only a handful of Vespas.

Dean really dished up for that 20th anniversary of RLC. Entering the shop you were welcomed by a world record Lambretta: The fully faired Lambretta that broke the 200 km/h limited to August 8th, 1951. Romolo Ferri set the world record on a motorway that was blocked from traffic between Ingolstadt and Munich. The mechanically supercharged 125cc engine is told to have had about 21 HP.

A huge transportable pizzeria supplied finest specialties from the region including sufficient wine, water, beer and coffee.

Overwhelming Lambretta test drive

RLC had managed to have a circuit blocked from traffic, so that you were able to test drive the scooters within the industrial estate.DSC01225rimini-lambretta-italrimini-lambretta-ital

Alongside scooters, which have been restored by RLC, there were mainly scooters from the Casa Lambretta collection available for test rides. The two Lambretta Innocenti two-cylinder prototypes were at the center of attention. In the past months these were restored by RLC for Victor Tessera. The June edition of scootering will present the restoration of the interior of the engines. We also did a test ride on the Innocenti two-cylinder prototypes. We can only say: Too sad they didn't make it into serial production.

Lambretta with 305cc and 50HP

305cc and more than 50HP - the most violent scooter we ever rode: BSG CasaPerformance 305cc prototype. CNC engine block with 305cc BSG cylinder, Cyclone5 5 speed gearbox and BGM PRO Superstrong clutch. This monster has more than 50 HP. The Lambretta's programmable ignition was downsized to 45 HP for the test drives. On our cruise on Sunday we were able to extensively test it. The fitting video will follow in the second part of this article. Watch this space!

bsg 305cc lambretta

BSG Corse brought scooters with overwhelming performance. vespa Smallframes were those scooters that chased around the circuit with immense revs. These were later joint by the legendary Signore Angelo Zirri and almost the entire Smallframe tuning scene.

Even the greatest events have to come to an end. So at some stage we had to dismantle everything. But luckily we still had a shared tea and nighter with a fantastic view on the mountains left!

Nighter in the mountains in the region of Emilia Romagna

The joint meal and all-nighter took place in an Osteria in the mountains. A fantastic site with view on the lights of Rimini and San Marino in the distance.allnighter_04rimini-lambretta-italrimini-lambretta-ital

Many kind talks, many Italian snacks and some cups of wine later we fell into our beds in the early hours of the morning. It was a short night with only a little relaxation. Only several hours later we were meant to get to the next highlight. On the cruise we were able to test the 305cc prototypes for their fitted BGM parts.
