The result of this high-precision manufacturing is a polished stainless steel Vespa rim, which is characterized by:

The rim is screwed into stainless steel with the special nuts provided. The special square profile of the screws engages in the Lambretta rim and ensures perfect anti-twist protection. The stainless steel screws are of course also available individually as spare parts.

Important installation note: As with original Innocenti rims, no more than 3 bar should be applied to the tire if the rim is only screwed to the rim studs. Tightening torque of the rim nuts 27Nm.

The bgm PRO Lambretta pole wheel is completely Made in Germany.
The fan wheel is a one-piece design, completely without screws or rivets. The pole wheel was specially designed to bgm PRO Lambretta ignition components designed, but also works with all other electronic ignitions based on the Ducati design.

Totally new design

The fan wheel is a completely new design that has been made around the existing bgm ignition components. The goals were maximum reliability and a strong alternator performance.

Highest reliability

In order to be able to guarantee the greatest possible reliability, the cone is neither screwed nor riveted, but is cast in place. Each cone is checked and reworked after casting to ensure an optimal fit to the crankshaft.
We do specify the weight of the fan wheel, but this is of secondary importance in relation to the engine running. Here the achieved moment of inertia is the decisive value. In other words, how and where the weight is distributed on the circumference.

This Lambretta pole wheel is a stunner

The balance factor is the next interesting factor. Here we achieve a value that is also used in real motorsport. Each fan wheel is individually brought to at least this value. This is the best value ever achieved for a Lambretta fan wheel.
The fan wheel passed the burst test up to 24.000 rpm without any damage.

Compatible

Of course, the bgm PRO pole wheel can also be used with all components based on the original Ducati design with 6 coils. Such as Indian, AF, AFR, Vespa components. However, problems can arise here due to the many different tolerances, which are usually based on the orientation of the pickup to the trigger. Superstrong - Extremely high performance

The clutch hub as well as the cover and thrust washer are made 42CrMo4 manufactured. The force is from bgm Racing red clutch plates transfer. The design of the clutch linings in the Vespa PK-XL / Vespa V50 version offers more space to transmit the torque. In this context, more material naturally also means a longer service life.

Due to the number of springs and the arrangement on the largest possible extent, a very even pressure behavior is achieved. This effectively prevents the two pressure disks from tilting or locking.

Thanks to the perfect coordination of spring stiffness and number, paired with the stiff design of the pressure plates, the clutch can be operated easily even with a PK-XL1 clutch cover.
The contact pressure of the bgm Pro XL springs and the coefficient of friction of the Racing red pads have a Test in our X-Mas duel already withstood the 30PS.

Highly stable & well thought-out coupling hub

The clutch hub is designed for a primary with a shock absorber and has an M28x1 internal thread for pulling off. (The extractors of the Vespa fan wheels with electronic ignition fit there.) Thanks to the internal thread, the area around the cone could be made much more massive. The more stable design without the senseless weakening by an unnecessary keyway makes the hub the first choice for every load. We recommend our for assembly Coupling nut and threadlocking. To dismantle the clutch or to change the linings in the engine, our bgm multitool BGM8819 should be used.

Today we proudly present you the first pictures and the first results of the test bench runs of our new one bgm PRO exhaust systems for the Vespa.

The Vespa Big Box exhaust was developed in close cooperation with MB in England and is also the result of over 20 years Scooter Center Experience.

We expect the exhaust from the beginning / middle of summer and are really looking forward to it. The test drives were great.

Test run performance diagrams:
The exhaust systems were made on the professional Scooter Center Ammerschläger P4 test bench tested with laboratory software:
Result: Significantly more power! eg:

  1. + 2PS more on PX200 compared to the original exhaust with significantly improved revving = top speed
  2. + 3PS more on Malossi 210 compared to comparable road exhaust systems
  3. + 5PS more on Malossi 166 (60mm shaft, exhaust made, 28mm carburettor on rotary valve) opposite Vespa Road exhaust

As a Test roller the following candidates were available:

The test runs were all done with the engine warm. The tests were carried out against the existing exhaust systems on the vehicles and against the SIP Road exhaust.
Almost all scooters were then tested for several kilometers on the road in order to really feel the change. That was the very subjective so-called Popometer test ;-)

The conclusion
Awesome part - this is how a Vespa exhaust has to be!
Both for the "laboratory test" with performance diagram and for subjective testing on the road:
The new bgm PRO exhaust puts you in a good mood. The engine turns out much more freely, the Vespa becomes much more flexible and faster and without the consumption or volume increasing noticeably.

Development of a new Vespa exhaust system - the Vespa BigBox from Scooter Center

After we and Mark have brought the Lambretta BIG BOX so far that we can only wait for the manufacturer and, at most, issue reminders, we sent a few sets of PX exhaust shells to Doncaster.

Mark has all of his ideas regarding PX BIG BOX implemented directly after the Eurolambretta. On Monday morning the PX 200 BIG BOX was finally here in the store. A few minutes later the test bench computer started and the games could begin.
