bgm PRO SC shock absorbers now also tested in the English BSSO racing series
Videos say more than a thousand words! Therefore, here is a brief introduction to Tony o'brien and his Charlie Edmonds tuned FALC bullet!
Last weekend Tony got the rear one bgm PRO SC shock absorber tested. The penultimate race of the English BSSO racing series took place on Mallory Park. On the racetrack, speeds are over 150 km / h without problems reached.
Here is the feedback to bgm and us regarding the damper. Unfortunately Tony made a long time in the race, but the next race will take place on September 25th / 25th. Unfortunately already the last of the season and then in Cadwell Park.
“The meeting didn't quite go to plan due to me deciding to test the hardness of the tarmac! (…) Practice was very wet… (…) The damper was set to 3mm pre-sag .. -5max compression and -5max rebound damping. My first impression is that this damper actually works and works very well.
The bike soaks up the bumps pretty well but I feel maybe I could have set the rebound a little harder to help stop the back end bounce on one particular corner. The engine runs a little hot with a little detonation and so I increase carburation to solve this.
By the time of the first race the track is dry. I am on last place on the grid (grid positions are based on previous meeting's results and I couldn't attend). By then end of the lap I am up to 5th from 19 starters, but there is a problem with the bike. (...)
The shock I have set to -3max on rebound and -4max compression .. its working fine and the bike feels transformed. By lap 1.5 I am into 4th behind the 250cc grp6 bikes of Topper, Turner and the 210 grp4 bike of Charely Edmonds. The corner which I had the issue on is now improved and the bike feels much safer and I actually manage to stay on the seat .. the corner is a 70mph left.
On the next lap however the motor cuts and then fires up again whilst banked over on a second gear corner .. This spits me off and into the dirt.
(...) The shock however even in two laps I feel is a massive improvement over the rs24. I feel yes for the track it could do with more damping as I think over the 10 lap race the oil will heat and it may lose damping. It would be nice to have the settings at mid-adjustment on compression and rebound. The spring does touch my tire (3.50 sava) but I can't move the shock over any more at present as the exhaust is in the way. I hope to move this over a little in the winter to solve this problem. the spring rate I would say is correct for me as it is.

Start of the season for scooter drivers
All over Germany in the last few days the obligatory “roll-on” took place.
The "roll on" is the traditional start of the Scootersscooter season scene.
The SCOOTER CENTER celebrates the start of the season together with the Open house on May 22, 2011.
This year the Openday will take place in aid of the disaster victims in Japan. There is more information here and active in Facebook.

Has for the fourteenth time Andi Possible Cologne's Modweekender organized. After a great concert with BIG BOSS MAN from London on Friday evening and the subsequent nighter, the scooter parade continued on Saturday afternoon or morning, depending on how you looked at it.

The SCOOTER CENTER was at the 1st Italian Customshow in Riva on Lake Garda.
“Gardasee” sounds great - but unfortunately we only saw the lake when we drove past on arrival and departure. But the long way and the work were worth it.
The custom show took place together with the “Motorissma” car and motorcycle fair and had its own large hall. What is new and unusual for a custom show is that the show lasted 2 days. Around 60 customizers exhibited their Lambretta and Vespa scooters. Incidentally, the proportion and quality of the Lambrettas was clearly superior here.

An estimated 5.000 Vespa drivers have put Zell am See into a state of emergency over the last few days ...
The ride with about 2.000 scooters on the Großglockner (3.780m) was a highlight - but today Zell was rocked !!!
The main road was firmly in the hands of the scooter drivers and the drivers puked! Sure, Vespa has right of way ;-)
The local gastronomy provided the meeting with subtle après-ski music from 22.00 p.m. (by DJ Ötzi / Wolfgang Petri / AC-DC)
and so one tire after another was burned under the supervision of the local gendarmerie !!!!!

Classic Race at the Nürburgring scooter race
Last weekend the 19th run of the “Cologne Course” from MSC Porz took place.
We from SCOOTER CENTER TEAM were again represented in large numbers.
After the final preparations and joint inviting of all the equipment and the racing scooters on Saturday morning, it was finally around 14:30 p.m. towards the ring. Once there, we met many familiar faces. The large CONTINENTAL TENT, the grill, the racing scooters etc. were quickly unloaded and set up.
After the technical acceptance, transponder assembly and the legendary driver briefing, the final preparations were made on the scooters.
Luckily got that SCOOTER CENTER TEAM still the box no. 25. So the very rainy Saturday evening with a barbecue under the tent, music and the typical gasoline conversations was a complete success for those present from the Classic Scooter racing scene.
It wouldn't be the ring if it weren't for rain and sun on a weekend, an old Nürburgring rabbit once told me. The same thing happened on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. with the first coffee it was still quite humid and punctually at 10:00 a.m. for training it was nice and dry.
Almost all of our 12 scooters got through more or less well, but even our “T-Roller” was still used.
Fortunately, a lot of spectators came to the ring. Many familiar faces from the scooter scene were present. Overall, drivers from all parts of Germany but also from AT, GB, BE, FR and even Canada were represented.
Scooter Center successful and with a lot of fun at the start
At about 14:00 the start finally took place, the one with a
- 2nd place in regularity,
- the fastest "girl scooter" and
- with 12 scooters from 70 starters, on our part
was generally very satisfactory. We are already looking forward to the next race.

I recently watched TV. “Adventure life” on cable one. On the way with the traffic police from ...? I forgot the state. The scene looks familiar to me from my previous occupation as a traffic policeman: A discreetly obese and with the apparently obligatory cliché mustache equipped with a very, very bad mood stands on the roadside next to an intimidated youth whose scooter is currently being tested on a mobile roller dynamometer . Screeching loudly, the 50s two-stroke engine cranks up to around 100 km / h according to the test stand display. The subsequent verbal derailments of my colleague are so disproportionate that I would hardly be surprised if he immediately pulled out his weapon and held it to the trembling boy's head. What a haughty, arrogant asshole! Almost everyone who sees something like this on television probably thinks that way. Which is nothing new in itself. As a responsible motorist, one has meanwhile got used to being verbally flogged for not buckling up.
