Primary repair kit and clutch basket bgm Pro Vespa Smallframe

In performance-enhanced people Smallframe In engines, the soft cover plates of the primary shock absorber are a weak point. Under higher loads, the springs tend to press against the plate and after a while the spring finds its way into freedom, i.e. the way into the gearbox - not good.

You can use both primary repair kits with the normal standard or reinforced springs.

The Feathers RED we recommend for engines up to approx. 25HP. If your unit should produce significantly more power or if the engine is to be used in racing, then you can also use the hard, YELLOW feathers fall back on.

If you want to use the reinforced springs, you will have to modify the large primary gear slightly. The pocket in which the spring works must be expanded to 12,5mm.

TECH TIPS:

The number of teeth on the clutch is important for the length of the total reduction. This can also be varied. Possible combinations:

  • Original 20 teeth: 21T, 22T
  • Original 21 teeth: 20T, 21T, 22T
  • Original 22 teeth: 20T, 21T, 22T
  • Original 23 teeth: 21T, 23T

For models up to and including 150cc, a small cast aluminum lug in the motor housing must be removed to mount the clutch. This can be easily snapped off with larger pliers. With some clutch covers, minimal material has to be removed from the drip nose at 12 o'clock in the area of ​​the radius.

The Vespam clutch can be installed in almost all engines of the so-called Vespa Largeframe Class. These are all vehicles whose chassis prefix is ​​three-digit (e.g. VNB, VNL, VNX etc., the addition 1T, 2T, 3T is not taken into account) and which have the carburetor installed directly on the engine housing (not in the frame or on the cylinder). Today we proudly present you the first pictures and the first results of the test bench runs of our new one bgm PRO exhaust systems for the Vespa.

We expect the exhaust from the beginning / middle of summer and are really looking forward to it. The test drives were great.

The exhaust systems were made on the professional Scooter Center Ammerschläger P4 test bench tested with laboratory software:
Result: Significantly more power! eg:

  1. + 2PS more on PX200 compared to the original exhaust with significantly improved revving = top speed
  2. + 3PS more on Malossi 210 compared to comparable road exhaust systems
  3. + 5PS more on Malossi 166 (60mm shaft, exhaust made, 28mm carburettor on rotary valve) opposite Vespa Road exhaust

As a Test roller the following candidates were available:

The test runs were all done with the engine warm. The tests were carried out against the existing exhaust systems on the vehicles and against the SIP Road exhaust.
Almost all scooters were then tested for several kilometers on the road in order to really feel the change. That was the very subjective so-called Popometer test ;-)

Awesome part - this is how a Vespa exhaust has to be!

The new bgm PRO exhaust puts you in a good mood. The engine turns out much more freely, the Vespa becomes much more flexible and faster and without the consumption or volume increasing noticeably.

Unwinders in Aachen 2013

On Saturday we were guests at the Abrollern in Aachen. Our was there too bgm Lambretta. It has been taking place annually since 2009 Rolling on and off in Aachen instead of. Where in 2009 they started at the old border house in Vaals with almost 50 scooters, yesterday there were around 150 scooter drivers who, despite the bad weather forecast, made the journey to Aachen. A scooterist from Wolfsburg had the longest journey. Respect. As usual, they met in a parking lot at the Preuswald in Aachen.

From the start and finish point it is just under 2,5 km to the Belgian border. The tour then took us 60 km through the Belgian eastern cantons.

After a good 30 km, a small stop was made at the Henry Chapel cemetery of honor. Here you had enough time to stretch your legs and get an overview.

After the break, the second stage took us back to Aachen. The weather hadn't let us down and Petrus must be a Vespa driver. So you could end the successful day with sausage and drink.

One day after our season end and Classic Day the Düsselvespen unwinding took place in Düsseldorf. Since the first joint exit was already really good, we didn't want to miss this date despite all the preparations for our event. Said and done. On Sunday morning at 9.30 a.m. we went with ours bgm Lambretta towards the “Forbidden City”. Thanks to our Lammy, the journey was faster than expected and we were even the first on site.

They met at Burgplatz, which is centrally located in Düsseldorf's old town. Here you then had the opportunity to have the first talks. The local press was also there and the passers-by and tourists were amazed to see so many classic switch scooters in downtown Düsseldorf.

The tour then started from Burgplatz into the Düsseldorf area. After about 50 km of tour, you stopped in a beer garden to end the day together.

Our bgm PRO SC shock absorber are the reference on the road and on the racetrack. In many European racing series and especially the ESC the dampers are “state of the art”.

They are brand new front and rear bgm PRO SC damper for the Vespa PK models. The Vespa PK damper comes with it two adapters of different lengths. With the long adapter, the damper has the standard PK length of 205mm. With the short adapter, 195mm, the damper fits for the conversion of V50 / PV / Et3 with shortened PK fork or PK fork with disc brake.

All dampers are completely in-house developed by us. In contrast to most of the so-called sport shock absorbers, the bgm PRO SC are not just made as hard as a board. On the contrary, the bgm dampers meet all requirements from the street to the racetrack. The setting options also enable perfect coordination.

Development of a new Vespa exhaust system - the Vespa BigBox from Scooter Center

After we and Mark have brought the Lambretta BIG BOX so far that we can only wait for the manufacturer and, at most, issue reminders, we sent a few sets of PX exhaust shells to Doncaster.

Mark has all of his ideas regarding PX BIG BOX implemented directly after the Eurolambretta. On Monday morning the PX 200 BIG BOX was finally here in the store. A few minutes later the test bench computer started and the games could begin.

We hung out and got our test bike ready for the EuroLambretta. It was an exciting project and we were well rewarded.

We managed to create a great engine with our bgm parts. 22,5 PS with plug & play tuning is quite an achievement. We used the original 200cc SIL housing halves from India. Here our newly developed MRB RT 225ccm cylinder was installed with the bgm Pro 60/110 crankshaft as well as a new version of the MRB Clubman exhaust specially made for us.

It is also a dream in terms of chassis technology. the bgm damper make something. Now the potholes can come. The road holding is great and I think that the people who will ride our test bike on the EuroLambretta will really enjoy it.

After the first hours of work, we try to get an overview of what is necessary.

So we found out that the scooter definitely needed a new floor pan with leg shield and side panels. With a little skill, the transitions from the cascade to the leg shield and also from the connector and the floor panel fit. Fortunately, almost all Lambretta fairings are available. Our Scooter Center Product stickers can even be seen in the photos.

We left the fender original (swiveling). The mountings for the fender were welded to the opposite side so that our bgm shock absorbers could be welded on professionally.

Now all that's missing is a suitable idea for painting.

In some places on the frame there was a need for action, so we disassembled everything again and made the frame shine.

Of course, we also inspected the engine and disassembled it into its individual parts and also made the housing shine.

Last weekend Tony got the rear one bgm PRO SC shock absorber tested. The penultimate race of the English BSSO racing series took place on Mallory Park. On the racetrack, speeds are over 150 km / h without problems reached.

Here is the feedback to bgm and us regarding the damper. Unfortunately Tony made a long time in the race, but the next race will take place on September 25th / 25th. Unfortunately already the last of the season and then in Cadwell Park.

“The meeting didn't quite go to plan due to me deciding to test the hardness of the tarmac! (…) Practice was very wet… (…) The damper was set to 3mm pre-sag .. -5max compression and -5max rebound damping. My first impression is that this damper actually works and works very well.

The bike soaks up the bumps pretty well but I feel maybe I could have set the rebound a little harder to help stop the back end bounce on one particular corner. The engine runs a little hot with a little detonation and so I increase carburation to solve this.

By the time of the first race the track is dry. I am on last place on the grid (grid positions are based on previous meeting's results and I couldn't attend). By then end of the lap I am up to 5th from 19 starters, but there is a problem with the bike. (...)

The shock I have set to -3max on rebound and -4max compression .. its working fine and the bike feels transformed. By lap 1.5 I am into 4th behind the 250cc grp6 bikes of Topper, Turner and the 210 grp4 bike of Charely Edmonds. The corner which I had the issue on is now improved and the bike feels much safer and I actually manage to stay on the seat .. the corner is a 70mph left.

On the next lap however the motor cuts and then fires up again whilst banked over on a second gear corner .. This spits me off and into the dirt.

(...) The shock however even in two laps I feel is a massive improvement over the rs24. I feel yes for the track it could do with more damping as I think over the 10 lap race the oil will heat and it may lose damping. It would be nice to have the settings at mid-adjustment on compression and rebound. The spring does touch my tire (3.50 sava) but I can't move the shock over any more at present as the exhaust is in the way. I hope to move this over a little in the winter to solve this problem. the spring rate I would say is correct for me as it is.

During the day lots of racers were interested in the new shock. ”
