The racing series was a guest from July 02-03.07.2022, XNUMX European Scooter Trophy and European Pit Bike Trophy at the Harz Ring. The third run was about significantly influencing the previous championship standings with a view to the second half of the 2022 season. The starting fields were also well filled at the Harz Ring and the conditions for an exciting weekend were perfect.

Race Class 1 - Rookies by Scooter-Attack

With 30 starters the most crowded class from the start. Hüskes was able to win the start ahead of Winterscheidt. Hermann had to give up pole from qualifying and found himself in 4th place. Buschsieweke worked his way up to 3rd place in round 2. Hermann kept getting passed and couldn't keep up with the speed from qualifying. The trio of Hüskes, Winterscheidt and Buschsieweke pulled away from the rest of the field. Hüskes could not tear himself away from the field of pursuers. Buschsieweke and Winterscheidt fought fair and hard. Buschsieweke was almost over. Winterscheidt cleverly closed it. Due to the early lapping, Buschsieweke had to slightly give up his attacking position. Still, he stuck with it. For this, Winterscheidt increasingly approached Hüskes. In the end, what Winterscheidt wanted was too much. He fell. Buschsieweke should also fall victim to being lapped again. When trying to lap in the infield, he was unfortunately forced to fall because the person to be overtaken drove into his lane. In the end, Hüskes won easily because he kept his cool. Buschsieweke came in second. In third place came Ebeling, who benefited from the falls of the other riders.

Mess at the start of the second race. Various participants did not arrive in time for the start time and had to clear the field from behind. Hüskes also won the start by far in the second race. Winterscheidt on two. Buschsieweke on three. Quite early on, Buschsieweke was caught by Ebeling, who took third place. Ebeling put more and more pressure on Winterscheidt and reduced the gap between the two opponents. From lap 8, Winterscheidt was able to maximize the lead again. At the top nothing seemed to be burning for Hüskes. He just had to lap safely. And he did, securing his second win in the second race. He was followed by Ebeling in front of Winterscheid.

Daily ranking 3st run Harz-Ring 2022 Class 1 Rookies by Scooter-Attack:

  1. #47 Sascha Hüskes 50 pts.
  2. #265 Patrick Ebeling 32 pts.
  3. #120 Andre Buschsieweke 31 pts.

Race Class 2 - SuperSport by Deutscher Bauservice

The start winner in the first race was Apostel. Triebs found himself in third behind Diabelez. Triebs didn't want to settle for that, however, and went into attack mode. With success he was able to work his way up to second place behind Laugesen. Laugesen was significantly faster from lap 4 and was able to overtake Triebs. This opened the attack on Apostle. Shortly before exiting the pits, Laugesen was able to pass inside with a great driving maneuver and excess speed. Laugesen quickly built up distance to Apostel and Triebs. Triebs noticed that there was still something going on against Apostel and gradually fought his way into an attacking position. In the S, Triebs showed courage and nibbled apostles. So the first race was set. Laugesen wins ahead of Triebs and Apostel

At the start of the second race Triebs took the lead in the field. Laugesen was close behind him at the rim. Laugesen had a bit more speed and it looked like it was just a game for time until he overtook Triebs. In the meantime, Apostel had to retire due to a technical defect. Third place was hotly contested: Merla, Diabelez and Larsen fought doggedly and scored important points. First Depta had the edge, but was then conceded by Larsen. Diabelez was also able to slow down Depta after the start and finish. Triebs held off Laugesen lap after lap. It looked best for him at start-finish. In the end, the magic meter was missing. Absolute top performance of both pilots. On the penultimate lap, Laugesen was able to take the decisive trick and brake Triebs fairly on the inside of the curve. Triebs then under-braked a bit and Laugesen had the win in their pockets. Still, a great performance from both drivers. Third place went to Diabelez, who in the meantime also grabbed Larsen.

Daily ranking 3st run Harz-Ring 2022 class 2 SuperSport:

  1. #74 Jeppe Laugesen 50 pts.
  2. #313 Marcel Triebs 40 pts.
  3. #167 Niklas Diabelz 29 pts.

Race class 3 - Expert by Scooter-Attack

Dream start from the master of expert Andersen. He went straight to the front and dominated the field. Rapid didn't have a chance to stay tuned. He had to deal directly with Kovac, who wanted more than 3rd place. Schnell drove a good race and fought hard against an increasingly faster Kovac. Both drivers had to take a lot of risks. In the penultimate lap we went on to the wild fight for position. Kovac clawed fast. He immediately counterattacked and did it very well and was able to secure second place in the last lap.

In the second race, Andersen also started better than the entire field. Kovac was able to grab second place. He tried to keep up with Andersen. Behind was Schnell in front of Schmitt. Unfortunately, Kovac had to retire early with a technical problem, so there was no longer any serious danger for Andersen at the top. Although Schnell gave everything he had, but he could no longer become dangerous to him. Third place in the second race goes to Schmitt.

  2. #19 Dustin Swift 40pts

Race class 4: Supramatic

In class 4 there was little competition at the start. Zehe won the first race ahead of Gronow. Both opponents forego a start in the second run.

Race Class 5 Pitbike Stock by Scooter-Attack

In the pit bikes, Schweizer pulled away from the start. The driver, who is also leading in the championship, was able to distinguish himself repeatedly with very good speed and a great performance. Wittwer gave everything in second place. But Schweitzer's machine went off like lightning. Nevertheless, Wittwer fought to keep the gap from increasing. Rademacher and Wolf fought for third place. He had engine problems for a short time and therefore had to restart his vehicle and lost a lot of time in order to still be able to take part in the fight for third place. Rademacher was all the happier about third place.

In the second PitBike race, Schweizer took the lead again after the start. Wittwer and Fritzsch behind in pursuit of points. Schweizer drove his own race, completely safe. Wittwer only had to keep up the pace to survive against Fritzsch. Wolf and Rademacher took fourth place. The chasing field around Jostkleigrewe, Nabbefeld, Zanker and Hartmann offered exciting two or four battles. However, Jostkleigrewe had to retire due to a technical defect after successfully asserting himself in the field. In the end, Schweizer remained in the usual position ahead of Wittwer and Fritzsch.

Daily ranking 3st run Harz-Ring 2022 class 5 - Pitbike Stock

  1. #54 Julian Schweizer 50 pts.
  2. #112 Jonas Wittwer 40 pts.
  3. #217 Nikita Radermacher 27 pts.

Race class 6 - GP-Open

The absolute top driver in terms of driving style and lap times comes from Spain this weekend. Bartheld started as a guest starter in the GP Open and outclassed the entire field. The driving style is an absolute feast for the eyes. And so it was not surprising that Bartheld led the K6. Grass was second, followed by Krzyszto. Bartheld drove the victory confidently to the finish in front of grass. Krzystzto came in third.

The second race began just as the first ended. At least for Bartheld at the top. This shot again over the circuit of the Harz and gave the pursuers Gras and Schweizer little chance. Gras had to fight a lot harder in the second race against an equally strong Swiss, who was aiming for second place. Schweizer tried several times after the start and finish to pass with excess speed. Grass always closed cleverly. In the end it stayed in order. Bartheld won ahead of Gras and Schweizer

Daily ranking 3st run Harz-Ring 2022 class 6 - GP Open

  1. #13 Allesandro Bartheld 50 pts.
  2. #222 Henning Grass 40 pts.
  3. #86 Florian Schweitzer 29 pts.

Race Class 7 - Beginner

Gaidecka at the front set himself apart from the rest of the field. Weiland on two still had the best chances. But behind them was a great three-way battle between Kruger on the PitBike and Kalms and Wojciechowski. Little Kruger fought great on the pit bike and got the upper hand on the scooters. Wojciechowski was able to pass Kalm halfway through the race. In the end, Gaidecka won safely ahead of Weiland and Kruger.

  1. #268 Michael Gaidecka 25 pts.
  2. #333 Tilo Weiland 20 pts.
  3. # 132 Jonas Kruger 16 pts

Race Class 8 & 9 - Endurance & Endurance Split

A total of 18 teams registered for the three-hour long distance. It was a great race with many exciting lap battles. The top field Xpear, Racefoxx, hairdressers by AKA, Streetlights and AK Racing RND were all close together within two laps until the halfway point in the race. As the game progressed, XPear got stronger and was able to get a safe lead for all eventualities. The RACEFOXX team achieved a very good second place. It was much more exciting in the Endurance class, the first three teams were very close together and only one stop would have produced a different decision. The winning team came from Barbers by AKA Racing.

Switch scooter meeting Vesbeachi 2021 Sponsored by Scooter-Center

Successful premiere of Vesbeachi

On October 09.10.2021th, 10 the gates opened for the premiere of the vesbeachi, the brand-open metal roller meeting on the beach of the beach club Nethen.

VESBEACHI 2021 - The brand-open tin scooter meeting on the beach - Aftermovie

And early on, the beach filled with tin scooter enthusiasts and their companions.
The visitors came from all over Germany, even a visitor from Denmark came to see this spectacle.
The mood was relaxed, the weather couldn't have been better and the gasoline conversations to the fine tones of soul music from the record player were lively.
No wonder, because the scene had some catching up to do; no event of this kind could take place for almost two years. Lots of time to screw things around, but little personal exchange. This was made up for at Vesbeachi.
The trophy ceremony took place at around 15 p.m., awards were given in the following categories:
Best Smallframe, Best Largeframe, longest journey on a two-wheeler and best of the day.
The cup for Best Smallframe went to a completely modified Simson Star in Iron Man design with lots of gold-plated details.
Best Largeframe a visitor from the Vespa Club Hannover was able to secure his Vespa 150 (VBB).
Visitor Philipp completed the longest journey on two wheels Bad Oldesloe on his Vespa PX
and the somewhat out of competition price best of the day Hamburg-based Marek Nachlik secured himself for his Lambretta conversion with a Kawasaki engine.

At the end of the day were more than 500 visitors traveled to Vesbeachi and thus contributed to a wonderful event.
The mood was unbroken in the best sunshine and one thing is already certain, that Vesbeachi Blechrollertreffen will definitely go into the next edition in 2022.
Text, video and pictures were made available to us by the organizer. Many thanks to Jelto Gerdes

And we're still talking about our open day, but only because it was really cool and maybe we didn't really talk about the most important thing:

OUR VISITORS

We had around 1500 visitors and the stories behind it will be numerous. We had the opportunity to meet a few, from the “instagramer”, to clubs, to scooterists, who took an active part in our campaigns and who also won.
Here's a part of our visitors' experience:

ESC season finale 2021 Harzring Aschersleben

European Scooter Challenge 2021 season finale at the Harzring

On Saturday, September 25.09.2021th, XNUMX the KR Automation ESC season finale 2021 to the Harzring in Aschersleben.

The training day

On the training day (Friday), when the sky was overcast from 10 a.m. to 18 p.m., you could keep your knee on the ground, get to know the route and improve your own lap time.

The race day

When it got light on Saturday morning, the sun was glittering on the horizon and should therefore be a dry event compared to last year (all-day shower).

Free practice started first and gave the five classes the opportunity to acclimatize. In the "one-size-fits-all" classes, which consist of two Smallframe- and one Largeframe-Class pass, the scooters must be equipped with uniform engine components to enable the same conditions and exciting duels as possible.

In qualifying the flying Frenchman Romain won the pole in the K1 ahead of Valentino. Robert won the K4 ahead of Achim.

In the K5, Felix won qualifying ahead of Thomas. In the K3 Christian in front of Marco and in the K6 Timo in front of Roman.

After lunch it was clear that it would be an exciting afternoon.

It started with the race of the K5 (unit class 133ccm Polini)in which the decision of what the championship podium would look like was still pending. Felix already had 62 points ahead of Thomas in the first race, who was again closely followed by Markus and Igor. If Felix fails, Thomas could still become champion and Igor, third place from Markus. So it went into the first race. Igor was able to move into first place after the start and led the field for the first two laps until Felix took the lead with a tight overtaking maneuver at the end of the start-finish straight and did not give it up until the end. Second was Thomas and third Igor.

It was especially exciting again in the big one Smallframe-Unit class, the K4that was launched together with the K1.

The K1 and K4 Drivers offered an exciting race that unfortunately ended with a highsider for Romain and the race had to be stopped as a result. After the restart, Ulf was able to prevail and thus also win the day for the K1. In the K4, Robert was the first to cross the line in every run, making his day's victory perfect.

As a conclusion followed a 45 min endurance racewhich only K5 vehicles were allowed to be used, and two drivers each were drawn as a pairing. The driver could be changed after 15 minutes. A total of 12 drivers took to the start, some of them gripping duels. Robert was able to achieve the fastest K5 lap time of the day with a 1,02.634 in a thrilling three-way battle (Robert, Valentino, Felix). This new edition was ultimately won by the Valentino and Kuba team.

Daily rating:

K1: 1. Ulf K. 2. Valentino R. 3. Romain B.

K3: 1. Marco A. 2. Toni F. 3. Christian G.

K4: 1. Robert L. 2. Thomas B. 3. Achim W.

K5: 1. Thomas L. 2. Igor K. 3. Markus M.

K6: 1. Timo D. 2. Markus B. 3. Roman K.

Best of All K5 Endurance: Valentino R. and Kuba G.

Fastest race lap: Robert L. 59.269 sec.

New drivers are always welcome!

The ESC welcomed four new starters this weekend. The newcomers were warmly welcomed into the group of drivers and, like every new participant in the ESC, were exempted from the entry fee in their first race.

Challenge Scootthole

Project Paul at the 10-hour race in Magny-Cours

Finally it was time again! After what felt like an eternity, in which various long-distance races had to be canceled, the loaded Team Scotthole on September 12th to 10-hour race to Magny-Cours a. Full of anticipation, we followed from Paul project - in addition to about 30 other teams - their call.

A lot of time has passed since the last race, time that team boss Dennis has not wasted. So he devoted himself - with great support from Scooter Center - the construction of a completely new racing scooter, the sixth Paul since the formation of the team in 2015. The former PLC-Racer, a V50, with which Andy had already started in the ESC for years, served as the basis. Disassembled into its individual parts, the scooter was rebuilt from scratch and equipped with a lot of power. After a day of testing on the test bench, Paul number 6 with starting number 6 was ready for his race in France.

On Saturday, the day before the race, there was a lot on the program. In addition to the construction of the pit and the technical acceptance, the final adjustments had to be made during the training runs before qualifying, in which we actually ended up in first place - the test was passed, the race could come!

Exciting 10 hours in Magny-Cours

The alarm clock rang early on Sunday morning. The closer the race got, the more stage fright increased – not just among the drivers, it just infected everyone. So off to the track, Paul woke him up and put Felix in the station wagon. Up to this point everything was going smoothly. About ten minutes before the start - we were already in position - we noticed that Paul was "letting go"... Without thinking too much and without wasting any time, we went back to the pits. The reason was found quickly: a screw on the clutch cover was not tight enough. Luckily not a big deal, just the ten minutes left until launch wasn't enough to fix the problem. So the start took place without Paul, who only started chasing half a lap later with Felix.

Starter after starter, the two began to roll up the field from behind. Arrived in position 17, bad luck caught up with us again when the membrane plate flew in our faces. The associated stay in the pits cost us six places, so we started chasing again from 23rd place.

Arrived in 14th place, the rubber carburetor thought that this would be a good time to make the number a little more exciting and spontaneously parted with the carburetor. Driver Andreas was forced to push Paul off the track into the already familiar pit. Equipped with an additional clamp, it went back into the race to make up for lost places. And this time it should work! Team by team and round by round, Andreas, Felix, Thomas, Andy and Wolfi worked their way up to Place 1! For the remaining one and a half hours it was “only” a matter of defending it – not an easy task, because we didn’t get anything for free from the French team “Superbordel”. The drivers, who were also very strong, kept coming dangerously close to us with their fast PK.

Make no mistake now...

The (planned) last driver change took place 40 minutes before the finish line. Andy was able to hold the position and Andreas started for the last stint when the red light came on less than ten minutes later. Abandoned race. All drivers from the pits. But where was Andrew? Ambulance and service car sprinted onto the track towards a part that was not visible from the pits. Minutes passed, dragging like gum. The ambulance left the route first and drove straight through to the medical supply room, followed by the service car loaded with our number 6. Our hearts stopped for a moment.

Part of the team ran straight away to ask about Andreas, the others ran to the service car. Andy still had his suit on and grabbed his helmet, while Dennis, Thomas and Felix Paul did a quick check and started again. The riders from the other teams were in starting positions right next to us, waiting to be released back onto the track. Andy joined in, it could actually go on! We were still in the lead by a good two laps and Andy, after a nerve-wracking ten hours, crossed the finish line with Paul in first place!

With the award ceremony, that has been beneficial for Project Paul so far most exciting racing weekend a happy ending, because Andreas was also able to attend - despite severe pain in his shoulder - and receive his very own trophy: with a time of He has the fastest lap in 1.29.3 minutes burned into the asphalt!

Powered by Scooter Center

We thank the Scooter Center, which supports us with the parts supply at all times, as well as our supporters KR Automation, Egig Performance and FalkR, without whom the construction of such a vehicle would not have been possible without further ado. We would also like to thank the organizer, who realized this great event despite adverse circumstances, and of course all the other teams for a fair race! It is always a great honor for us to be able to share this passion with friends. Thanks a lot for this!

SC Cup at the Nürburgring

2nd run Scooter Center Cup on September 26, 2021

Scooter Center Cup Nürburgring September 2021 – Scooter races at the Nürburgring

True to the motto "The fun is in the foreground"Took place last weekend as part of the German Endurance Championship of the Dortmund Motorcycle Club Scooter Center Cup at the Nürburgring. 42 participants had registered in advance to take part in the regularity run for motor scooters on the Grand Prix circuit of the Nürburgring. The starting field was mixed because there were no restrictions in terms of make and year of manufacture. They started together, the rating was in two classes (divided into geared and automatic scooters).

From the Lambretta from 1954 about the classic Vespa up to modern automatic scooter, From seven to over 50 hp and from rookies to professionals, everything was represented. Everyone is allowed to take part, and that's exactly what makes this cup so appealing - the great variety of drivers and scooters who don't get in each other's way on the big and wide track. In addition, there are regulations that only regulate the safety aspects and otherwise leave all freedom. Open to oldies and young automatic scooters. The perfect event for everyone who wants to get a taste of racing and do a few laps on the track. Our Maryzabel took advantage of this opportunity and entered the race with her PX “Platónika”. She will share her experience with you in a second report.

You could register the day before from 18 p.m. and present your vehicle to the technical inspection. An advantage, as not everyone passed this test straight away (the problem was often the excessive volume, which according to the regulations could not exceed 98 dB), because this gave the opportunity to repair the defects in peace and to re-lock the vehicle the next day present.

On the day of the race there was a total of four runs, two training sessions of 20 minutes each, a qualifying and, finally, the actual race, the Regularity run, during which 35 minutes could be driven. The track was still a bit wet from the nightly rain during the first run, but it got already during the second practice session neatly turned on the gas! On Great fun for everyonethat we spoke to. At the end of the day there were a few technical failures, but no falls, everyone arrived safely at the finish line after the last run.

We hope that the last restrictions due to Corona will no longer apply next year and that we will be able to start again in front of an audience!

ROLLERSHOP Vespa catalog 1987 with red Vespa Primavera 125 and Zirri engine with water cooling

Scooter shop cover Vespa

If you've been driving a scooter for a while, you may still know the scooter shop!

Roller shop sticker

Scooter youth icons

The scooter shop was the scooter shop for us young scooter drivers in the 80s and early 90s. Whether Scooterboy, Popper or Mod: With its catalogs, the scooter shop pulled our pocket money and our first salary out of our pockets. But some of us knew how to defend ourselves: Philipp, for example, always ordered the PK disc brake for 540 DM with every order, so he was always above the postage exemption limit and he was sure of free delivery, but the disc brake was never available until the end .

For many, the catalog was like a Bible. A bright red shone on the cover of the 1989 catalog Smallframe Vespa with water cooling with Zirri engine. The connoisseur may have recognized straight away that the model is a Primavera, but did you know which parts were built in in detail? What performance did they have or what the Vespa looks like from the front?

And did you know that there was a cover Vespa in black as early as 1987? In general, have you ever wondered what of these forgotten ones Dream scooters of our youth has become? The scooter shop as a company did not manage to survive, we took over customer support in 2007 and bought the domain. Vehicles and stocks were spread over the whole republic. Did the cover rollers survive?

Christian and Ronny from the Scoot Devils Seevetal have not forgotten, have found the legendary scooters and carefully restored them!

In the Scooter Center The two scooters could be admired for the first time on OpenDay. So of course I used the opportunity and Christian and Ronny got the unbelieveable story let tell. Check out the video now! You can find out below Details about the vehicles and receive more Insights and detailed pictures.

Lambretta 100mph Bonneville World of Speed Record

Chasing records with the Lambretta on the salt slope

Our customer Todd Rogers from the USA set out with his 225 Lambretta to hunt for records in Bonneville.

Do you still remember the film "with heart and soul" with Anthony Hopkins? Burt Munro (Anthony Hopkins) travels to Bonneville with his Indian Scout to take part in the annual high-speed race on the Utah Salt Flats. One of my favorite films, below you can find a teaser for the film.

Todd Rogers Lambretta Club USA

So our customer Todd Rogers has set off for Utah with his Lambretta World of Speed made. Here in Bonneville he wants to set a record with his Lambretta on the salt slope.

Todd Rogers from the Lambretta Club USA with his Lambretta

The right tires

During the preparations for the record attempt, there were problems with the tires. Todd has so far ridden tires with a “P approval” on his Lambretta.
But P corresponds to only 93 mph or 150 km / h and with these tires he would not have received approval for an official record attempt at over 100 mph.

Choosing the perfect tire was then relatively easy, after all, ours are ours bgm PRO SPORT tires, the only 10 x 3.50 tires with a Approval of 180km / h or 112 mph! In addition, Todd did not want to expose himself to any risk and so relied on the bgm PRO  Quality tires MADE IN GERMANY.

Fastest Lambretta 100mph 162km / h in Bonneville Utah / USA bgm PRO Sport tires

The 100mph record in Bonneville with the Lambretta

Todd drove his 225 Lambretta (not a Streamliner !!), a very impressive 100,4203 mph, which corresponds to about 162 km / h. Todd holds the record for the fastest Lambretta in Bonneville!

Congratulations from all Scooter Center & bgm - team!

The scooter drivers are hot

We all know what has been going on in the last few months, restrictions, no or hardly any events. We knew you guys are hot, we are hot! And we were warned:
"The scooter drivers are hot, do you know what you're doing to each other?"
Yes! We thought we have optimized our concept, taken hygiene measures and simply bought twice as many drinks and food than usual - you still got us to fetch more supplies!

Our test bench, including Alex and Uwe, also ran hot - with the exception of a short break, there was test bench run after test bench run!

This is how we experienced the Vespa AlpDays 2021 in Zell am See

Scooter Center at the Vespa Alp Days 2021 in Zell am See

Thursday - Day 1 - The start (800km / 160km)

After the 'Vorbereitungen im Scooter Center, it could finally start now. the Vespa Alp Days start much earlier, but the main days are Friday and Saturday. Many people combine this scooter meeting in the Alps with a vacation and book special trips into the mountains. We arrive on Thursday so that we can be fully there on Friday and Saturday:

After the early start in Cologne, there was for that Scooter Center Team, after about 650km, a stopover at my place in Munich. Strengthened by a good snack, Maryzabel's Platonika and MotoVespa were freed from the vans by Alex.
On the scooters we drove over fine country roads and over the legendary Sudelfeld and the Tatzelwurm in dream weather. At Kufstein we cross the Inn and come across the border to Austria. We continue past the Walchsee, through the valleys via Saalfelden / Leogang to Zell am See!

In the meantime, Marc and Marcus drove the vans to Zell am See as quickly as possible. We were amazed. not bad when the booth was already set up when we arrived!
We welcome friends and old acquaintances from near and far. As a team, we quickly take care of the rest of the little things at the stand. This is followed by a convivial team evening with good food in Zell am See.

You notice: our weekend started off really well! But it should get even better:

Friday - day 2 - Kitzbühler Horn (120km)

We have decided to keep the stand closed in the mornings. During this time all Vespisti (we were very happy to see three Lambrettas) are on the rides and we want to meet friends and customers there in action.

After a great breakfast, the scooters were filled up first. In bright sunshine we drove together to Areit, the meeting point for today's trip to Kitzbühel Horn.

Madness: a huge parking lot full of around 700 Vespa scooters, Year of construction from the beginning of the 50s until today - what a wonderful spectacle!

In 8 groups with a maximum of 100 scooters, it was then leisurely on country roads and narrow paths up to the Kitzbühler Horn. For some, the route was pure driving pleasure, others worked up a sweat. I've also seen riders turn into runners and push their scooters up the extremely steep passages.

TIPP: Did you already know the height correction for the carburetor pans or air filter boxes?

This little one Rubber stopper If the engine is running too rich, it is removed on the mountain, at a height. With this additional air supply, the carburetor can draw in more air and because of the leaner air at altitude it no longer runs as richly.
Caution: You must definitely start again in the valley, otherwise the Vespa is too lean here!

Example Largeframe:

Example Smallframe:

The wonderful mountain panorama quickly forgot the hardships for man and machine. On the descent I was happy about my bgm PRO chassis and the new brake pads on my 1962 Vespa T4. from Augsburg.

Other drivers who were on the road with a Vespa GTS today told me about overheating and failing brakes due to the lack of engine brakes on the automatic engine. So it was with us on Scooter Center There was also interest in ours Test winner suspension from bgm PRO and Vespa GTS brakes from Frank and Porco Nero very large.

So in the early afternoon we opened our stand and were able to welcome and advise a large number of nice scooter drivers. Many also tried our raffle, and in the end there was a winner who wasn't that far from the correct result. But we can't reveal that at this point, because we want to play the game again with a similar number of nuts in the future. For example next weekend on Scooter Center Open Day with us in Bergheim-Glessen, at the gates of Cologne.

Saturday - day 3 - Großglockner (80km)

Today we had to get up early. The day was packed with attractions and starts with Goosebumpst pure:

130 Vespa tubular handlebars and Faro Basso “lamp below” Vespa models from the early 50s line up for the Grossglockner Mountain Prize. This is a very rare opportunity like that lots of old Vespas to be able to admire in a heap. The spectacular Le Mans start in 4 groups, you can see the mixture of excitement, pride, ambition and above all joy in this challenge in the drivers.
“Tüte”, a participant from last year, told me how he had to push his Vespa Rally 180 up the Glockner a bit!
How does a machine cope with it that has a few more years under its belt and less under its hood?
To find out, we gave one of the daredevil pilots one of our cameras. Many thanks to Marc Schaffnit!

With the Ciao towards the summit

Our Marc has been on the road for a long time, he could hardly be stopped and drives the Grossglockner up first with his Ciao and then again with the Scooter Center Be Giorni. Another practical test for our new one, passed with flying colors CIAO bags.

Shortly afterwards we also make our way to the Glockner, the Mountain calls and wants to be conquered!

Today it was supposed to rain all day, what to me with the bgm PRO Sport tires but did not cause concern. We were lucky: it stayed dry until the afternoon, but it was up on the Grossglockner, but very foggy and cold. So after a fun descent we went straight to the town square to greet the AlpDays family at our stand and to advise them on our products.

In the afternoon it did start to rain, we were so engrossed in conversations and busy keeping our booth dry that we unfortunately had the great one Vespa acrobatics stunt show by NICOLA CAMPOBASSO missed. The “Concours de Elegance”, a kind of custom show, took place right at our stand.

While the Alpdays family was slowly coming to the congress center to take part in the evening program Live music, awards, honors, charity presentation and raffles To be present, we set about dismantling the stand and stowing the material safely in the transporters.

One group Ladies in dirndls from Waging am See, stopped us for a moment. A welcome and very nice change!

Vespa Alpdays Zell am See 2021 photos and videos

After dinner we go to the evening event. Maryzabel was immediately hired and was allowed to dance with the WURLI WURM.

Actually everyone was just waiting for the big raffle, in which the main prize was a Vespa rally. Congratulations to the lucky winner who was very happy!

But we were also able to give pleasure and announce the winner of our competition, who can now look forward to a bgm PRO shock absorber for his scooter. There were also three Scooter Center-Shopping vouchers worth 200 euros raffled off. Again, our congratulations to the lucky winners!

Journey home (800km / 160km)

The night was pretty short. After breakfast together, we parted ways again: I made my way back towards Munich with my Vespa, Marcus stayed a day longer to enjoy the landscape with Ciao and Vespa and Maryzabel, Marc and Alex set off for the 800km Journey home towards Cologne / Bergheim.

Vespa Alpdays Zell am See 2021 photos and videos

Scooter Center at the Vespa Alp Days in Zell am See 2021

The Scooter Centers was with a team at the last weekend Vespa AlpDays in Zell am See.

The organizers describe the event as follows:

In Zell am See, the Vespa capital of Austria, the largest annual European Vespa meeting takes place every year! The whole VESPA ALP DAYS family meets for wonderful days in the historic city center of Zell am See! In 2019 over 1600 Vespisti / Scooteristi from 23 nations were peacefully united in Zell am See! - An experience for every participant!Nicole & Franz

When we were at the Vespa World Days in Zell am See in 2009 (see here and here), Franz presented us with his idea for the Vespa AlpDays and we were immediately on fire. It goes without saying that we support that and, if possible, go there ourselves. Meanwhile they find AlpDays took place for the 12th time and Nicole and Franz were actually able to honor participants who took part in all 12 events!

This year we write the year 2021 and events are still subject to strict guidelines. Many events were canceled this year or were not even planned.

Last year I was alone as a very small fraction of the Scooter Center Teams, at the Vespa Alpdays. Together with my wife I am with the Vespa in the car to take part there at least on Saturday. The result is two nice videos of the Alpdays and the Grossglockner Audax Exit.

This year, too, the event team around Franz and Nicole did not let it get down and, as in 2020, postponed the Alpdays to late summer due to the pandemic. Instead of the otherwise 1.500 participants, only around half of the scooter drivers were allowed in 2020 & 2021.

It was of course a bit emptier in the alleys, but that didn't detract from the fun of the tours on the street!

This time it should Scooter Center Be a bigger team, have a stand on site again and even drive more scooters. Said and done:

Scooter Center Booth Vespa Alp Days

The Scooter Center Exhibitors

We have been going to scooter meetings for 30 years, at the beginning we dragged half our shop with us to the meetings and still often did not have the things with us that you "broke" on the way to the meeting or on site. For years we have only been showing a selection of product highlights at events and no longer have any parts sales. Instead, we prefer to have a cold drink with us so that we can toast old and new stories with our customers.

Competition

New this year: a competition! Visitors were able to estimate the number of nuts in the box and the winner, who is closest to their estimate, could win a shock absorber. The submitted amount ranged from 888 to 12.567 who won Thomas R. from Ludwigshafen, we will contact you. The next chance to take part in the competition is likely to be ours OpenDay - if the box with the 1.234 nuts survived the trip - oops - whether that's really true ... :-)

Donation campaign for the Children's Cancer Foundation with Markus André Mayer

In the last few weeks, Markus had traveled over 7.000 km in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and Switzerland to get on his Vespa Gentleman Giro Collect donations for the national children's cancer foundations. See also here on our blog. We supported Markus and accompanied. He has one Stop in Scooter Center inserted and becomes ours too OpenDay be there, of his Scooter adventure tell around the world and especially donations for the Children's Cancer Foundation collect. In Zell am See, too, we gave him a point of contact at our booth, exchanged merchandise for donations and so we were able to do so 1.051,54 Euros that will be donated directly to the Austrian Children's Cancer Foundation.

And of course we also have a can for AROUND HALF AT THE BAR / COUNTER set up.

AROUND HALF AT THE BAR

Scooter and driver

Maryzabel is of course on the road with her Platonika Vespa PX / LML. As a demonstrator, Platonika is of course packed with the finest bgm and Moto Nostra parts. You can find information about the Platonika project here

Maryzabel Platonica

Alex has its MotoVespa MV125 from 1960 just finished.

The alpine tour is practically the maiden voyage, if you can say that about a scooter that has been on Mallorca for over 50 years.

The brisk Spaniard can now spend her old age in the beautiful Rhineland. Externally by sealing the original color dress and internally, with great attention to detail, technically completely refurbished, she is now looking forward to her coming kilometers on the European mainland.

The bgm PRO 177 cylinder breathes new temperament into the Spaniard. The chassis and the brake drums from bgm passed the baptism of fire on the descent of the Großglockner from an altitude of 2.571m.

Moto Vespa Alex

Marc is with his Ciao and the Scooter Center SeiGiorni at the AlpDays. A spectacular conversion of a Vespa GTV, of course with the bgm PRO chassis, which allowed him to drive in a very sporty manner on the mountain. Many visitors were amazed that and how it drives, they thought that this is just a custom project that does not drive at all. Marc has impressively proven that it drives - and how! Here you can find out more about the project and how the Scooter Center Sei Giorni Vespa. On his Ciao, for example, he of course has the new bags from our configurator

Marcus, good customer and Marc's Flatliners club mate, offered us to support the team over the weekend. We are very happy that he is there. He's an otherwise inveterate Lambretta driver this weekend with his old one Vespa PX with Malossi Sport, who accompanied him confidently and reliably

Marcus Vespa PX

Heiko, I'm back with mine Vespa T4 on the move in the Alps. A scooter that has been with me for over 20 years. Since I've been using the bgm PRO suspension and the bgm PRO SPORT tires, I've had even more fun with the Vespa. An old 213 Pinasco and the bgm PRO Touring BigBox are installed. The engine was enough to get up to the top of the Glockner in 2nd gear and at the end in the first Ganz, in twos. Of course with the altitude correction, see below

Heiko Vespa T4

The Preparations

The effort and the preparation for such an event are immense, but mostly run behind the scenes and are therefore not directly recognizable. That's why we're going to let you take a look behind the scenes today.

Event material was checked weeks beforehand, and our display was optimized and redesigned. We have designed and produced new merchandise such as posters and stickers. So that we could get all the material up to about 800km away in Zell am See, in the Alps, we had to organize sufficiently large vehicles and stow everything safely. But even the largest and longest transporter was not enough. So we are with two vans, full of scooters and event material, on Thursday morning at 5:00 am Scooter Center started. Apart from that, accommodation had to be found for 5 people, and arrival and departure had to be planned and organized ...

In the next post you will find out what we will do on the 3 days Vespa Alp Days 2021 experienced have a selection of images as a preview:

You can find all the parts for a safe journey in our Vespa shop

Platónika test drives after more than 7.000 km more than completed and off we go!

With the Scooter Center off to Zell am See from September 10th to 12th, 2021

Slowly it is enough to just make kilometers on the way to and from work. It is time for longer journeys with Platónika and our trip to the Vespa Alp Days is the best opportunity!
In my personal ranking of the events, VAD has a special place:

  • It is -after the Vespa World Days in Celle- the biggest event I have attended. Both were in 2017 and in Zell am See I am with me more than 1000 Vespistas out 20 celebrated different nations.
  • It was my first meeting on European soil.
  • I had never seen so many different Vespas together, including this one 60 oldest Vespas of the continent. Keyword Faro Basso race.
  • It's also the longest event 8 days of continuous fun.
  • The most beautiful landscapes my eyes have seen.
  • The oldest Vespa I've ever ridden, the beautiful Vespa Super Sport 180 from Franz, which he lent me very nicely.
  • And it was the event at which I made great friendships that have existed until now and continue to strengthen.

Back to the future

Now the reasons are different, I travel to work. As part of the Scooter Centerwho is the official sponsor of the event. And of course, Platónika is coming with us.
I am preparing to show you all of these adventures firsthand. But now some nice memories of 2017.

EST scooter race Scooterracing Wittgenborn 2021

Race report for the 2nd round of EST 2021 on the Vogelbergsring on August 21-22.08.2021, XNUMX

Finally again the European Scooter Trophy scooter race - motor scooters - motorsport at its finest! That Scooter Center is happy to support these great EST events. After the start on the Harz-Ring, after the summer break it was time to hunt for points Vogelbergsring in Wittgenborn. The call for the 2nd run was terrific. Full starting fields in the classes promised a great racing weekend. The development in Class 7 - Beginners was particularly gratifying. After a somewhat hesitant start, the popularity in Wittgenborn with 19 starters exceeded all expectations. The class 6 GP-Open was also the second largest class in Wittgenborn with 25 starters. All in all, we were able to close 150 participants be recorded in all classes. Therefore, the schedule was exhausted until the last minute. The conditions on Saturday were perfect. The freshly tarred asphalt offered the best conditions with a sunny 25 degrees.

Photos from the race:

The results of the race weekend by class:

Class 1 - Rookies SA:

With 39 starters the absolute top class of the line-up. After the schedule had provided for two classes, it was possible to switch to one class after qualification, as not all scooters ran smoothly. Norman Neufang and Sascha Hüskes drove away from the field in qualifying. A gap of more than half a second to the rest of the field showed the differences in performance.

Hüskes won the start of the first race. Neufang behind. Janz lost most of the ground at the start. However, Hüskes missed his chance for a clear victory after crashing at start-finish. The top duo had a lot to do to fight their way through the full starting field. In the end, Neufang had to admit defeat, who in the end was the beaming winner of the first race. Kevin Kugel landed in third place with a clear gap, followed by Fränkle and Heidemann.

Excitement at the start of the second race. Three starters were too late at the pre-start and had to start the second race from behind. The winner was Neufang ahead of Hüskes. Both were able to set themselves apart from the field. Behind it, a three-way battle raged between wire, sphere and Buschsieweke. Janz, who had to start from behind, started a good race to catch up. The top trio with Neufang, Hüskes and Draht had to work hard not to make any mistakes when lapping them. The competitors were just waiting for your chance to overtake your opponent. Neufang stayed cool and showed no nerves and took victory in the second race. 2nd place went to Drath and Hüskes followed in 3rd place.

Day classification class 1 - Rookies SA

  1. # 281 standards Neufang 45 pts.
  2. # 93 Dustin-Miles Drath 45 pts.

Class 2 - SuperSport

In SupertSport, Sperling wanted to know. As always well prepared, he set the best time in his class in Wittgenborn. He relegated Triebs to second place with a gap of two tenths. Everything was just behind.

The start of the race went according to plan for the top. In midfield, Moutschka and Richter collided early in turn 2, but were able to get up again and continue. Sperling drove an absolutely unrivaled race. A great speed, a cool head and a significantly slower chasing field catapulted him to victory. However, the further podium places were not so unrivaled. Triebs, Thönnern and everything gave each other nothing. Tire on tire, the three drove a great race. In the end, Triebs prevailed over Thönnern and Schiller.

It shouldn't have that easy for Sperling in the second race. A good start secured the top position. Everything was groomed and attacked immediately. A great duel led through the next rounds. Behind that, too, there was tension again about the third podium place. This time it was Triebs, Thönnern and Schiller who gave everything. In the end, Triebs was left behind and had to retire. At the front, Sperling kept his nerve and also won the second race, ahead of Alles und Thönnern.

Class 3 - Expert SA

Marc Harder once again showed his excellent condition and set the fastest time in the qualification on the new asphalt. Ong lurked. The two races were a pure nerve and weather battle and the excitement couldn't be beat. Absolute fantastic duels and excitement until the end was offered to the spectators.

Free to start for the first race. And already in the first corner the battle of nerves started. Harder at the top made no move to let Lukas come by. While he was waiting for the tip, he had to fend off the first attack from the third Andersen. A brief interruption of the nerve battle was inserted after Boceda fell. The driver and scooter were unhappy on the route and had to be briefly looked after. At the restart, the field was led by Harder, ahead of Lukas, Andersen and Ong. And now it was getting wild. Andersen started the best and sat in front of Lukas and Harder. All three immediately in attack mode. Harder immediately attacked Lukas. He stayed cool and turned Harder off. Boceda fell again and had to put his podium claims behind. Lukas also fought on the last groove and fell. The way was clear for Harder. This immediately focused Andersen and clung to his rear tire. Fantastic inner fights followed curve by curve. You could hear the spectators breathing, the race was so exciting. Harder was a lot faster, but Andersen repeatedly let him down. Great motorsport. Fair and respectful. In the long left before 180 degrees, Andersen had finally settled down. Inside it was over for him. Unnoticed by the duel, Ong had positioned himself and was waiting for his chance. Schnell with a fall was able to continue, but was passed through. Andersen was motivated to the tips of his hair, did not give up and increased the pressure to the limit. He had made it when accelerating to start-finish. He cheekily overtook Harder and was able to recapture first place. Harder tried everything to attack again. That was too much of a good thing and so Harder fell 1 lap before the end. Lukas was also very unlucky and fell right in front of the start and finish line and was passed on. After Andersen, Ong crossed the finish line. Beerhus had a laughing eye and was able to take third place.

After the nerve battle in the first race, the weather battle followed in the second race. The announced rain approached 20 minutes before the race. The weather forecasts were ambiguous and the race management announced the race as a wet race in advance. So the choice of tires was up to the drivers. The last laps of the SuperSport, which drove before the expert class, were nerve-wracking. The gates were opened 12 minutes before the race and a monsoon-like rain soaked the track into a pure water slide. Hustle and bustle in all boxes. Change the tires and go straight to the pre-start. It then started with two warm-up laps. Harder in advance. Andersen, who got off to a good start and passed the others in second place, crashed on lap 2. The new top trio here Harder, Lukas and Ong. It's amazing how fast the field plowed through the rain. Ong braked Lukas and went to two. Lukas then fell with problems in the rain. Schmitt fell too, but everyone went on. Harder at the top fell and was passed through to fourth place. That was the chance for Yannik Ong, who was leading ahead of Boceda and Schnelle. Schnell grabbed the Italian and went to second place. This was followed by several falls from Schnell and second place was quickly gone. In addition to the rain, lightning and thunder were now approaching and it was only a matter of time before the race had to be stopped. Lukas in second place went down and found himself in a duel with Andersen and Harder. Harder grabbed Andersen. After another crash by Boceda, Beerhus was in second place and Schnelle in third. An insane race. Harder and Lukas fell again. At the front, Ong drove lonely and confidently. After lightning and thunder were almost directly over the track, the race management decided to stop the race. A crazy race came to an end after 1 laps and more than 4% of the race distance. The radiant and at the same time wet winner was Ong, ahead of Beerhus and Schnelle.

Class 5 - PitBike Stock by Scooter-Attack

At the top for the best starting position in the PitBikes there was a four-way battle. Jonas Wittwer had repeatedly set the best lap and took pole position with a 4. Ullrich and Brzeski followed behind.

In the race, Wittwer went straight to the front from the start. His pursuers had no chance. Ullrich had to forego the start in the first race. Brzeski still had the best speed, but couldn't keep up with Wittwer's pace. Ullrich and Forster fought in 3rd and 4th place for the last place on the podium. Ullrich kept his nerve and was able to keep Förster at bay in the end. In the front, Wittwer didn't let anything burn in front of Brzeski and drove confidently to first place.

There was a lot more excitement in the second race. Wittwer had it much more difficult and was able to win the start for himself. However, Ullrich was there and immediately put pressure on Wittwer. He felt something was going on. Förster prevailed against Brzeski and finished third. Nikita Rademacher was also able to present herself much better in the second race and speculated on a mistake by the two competitors Förster and Brzeski. Wittwer had to give everything to keep Ullrich behind. In the approach to the curve Ullrich Wittwer braked heavily and took the lead in class 5. That was also the preliminary decision in the second race. Wittwer could no longer be dangerous to Ullrich. Shortly before the end, Brzeski was rewarded and passed Förster.

Grade 6 - GP Open

Full house in the GP class promised a great race. Bresciani and Girolomini from Italy pinned Volk in their place for the best starting positions Bresciani came on pole, followed by Volk, Girolomini and Gras.

The Italian driver Bresciani slept through the start of the first race. He was handed 7 places behind. That promised a lot of excitement for the next 15 laps. Gras thus took the lead in front of Girolomini. Both drivers fought a great duel. V. Stevens, who started the race from second place, had to retire after a fall during the race.

The second race started according to the same pattern as in the first race. Bresciani missed the start again and was overtaken by Gras. Steven was unable to attack again after retiring in the first race. Bresciani immediately countered after a messed up start and was able to collect grass quickly. In the constellation, the field then crossed the finish line.

This time the beginners showed that the newcomers to motorsport could also fight properly. With 19 starters, the class was very well attended and a colorful starter field drove to the starting grid on time

At the head of the field it was always back and forth between the two pit bikers Bang and Siegmann. Who really gave each other nothing. The first scooter driver, Krawitz, finished third until the end of the race. Until shortly before the end, Siegmann was ahead. However, Bang felt that he would still get his chance and was rewarded in the end with a courageous maneuver and won the race.

Class 8 Endurance & 9 Endurance Split

The long distance was an absolute magnet for drivers. 30 teams started punctually at 15:30 p.m. for their 3-hour challenge. Happy scene at the start. With a lot of luck, a helper got away unharmed when pushing the bike after the helper accidentally checked the driver from Team Chaos off the scooter. After the start, Learn2Slide was able to take the lead. This was followed by a strong three-way battle between Parts2slide, Pitom and SuperMoto S Factory Friends. Streetlights was particularly strong in class 8. Learn2slide continuously expanded its lead until the end of the race. Parts2slides and Supermoto S Factory Friends watched each other. It got crazy again shortly before the end. The race director already had the checkered flag in hand to wave the first place winner to victory. Two turns before the end, the bike suddenly started to stutter. The driver just turned into the start and finish line, but then parked his bike in the tire wall. What happened next has never happened before. The driver was about to sprint into the pit lane when he was walking in the middle of the track and noticed that I can just slide across the start and finish line. There was almost another collision between the driver and other two-wheelers on the route. The last 40m the bike was pushed over the finish line in a sprint and the lucky winner of the 3h race was certain: Learn2slide.
