SC Cup at the Nürburgring
2nd run Scooter Center Cup on September 26, 2021
True to the motto "The fun is in the foreground"Took place last weekend as part of the German Endurance Championship of the Dortmund Motorcycle Club Scooter Center Cup at the Nürburgring. 42 participants had registered in advance to take part in the regularity run for motor scooters on the Grand Prix circuit of the Nürburgring. The starting field was mixed because there were no restrictions in terms of make and year of manufacture. They started together, the rating was in two classes (divided into geared and automatic scooters).
From the Lambretta from 1954 about the classic Vespa up to modern automatic scooter, From seven to over 50 hp and from rookies to professionals, everything was represented. Everyone is allowed to take part, and that's exactly what makes this cup so appealing - the great variety of drivers and scooters who don't get in each other's way on the big and wide track. In addition, there are regulations that only regulate the safety aspects and otherwise leave all freedom. Open to oldies and young automatic scooters. The perfect event for everyone who wants to get a taste of racing and do a few laps on the track. Our Maryzabel took advantage of this opportunity and entered the race with her PX “Platónika”. She will share her experience with you in a second report.
You could register the day before from 18 p.m. and present your vehicle to the technical inspection. An advantage, as not everyone passed this test straight away (the problem was often the excessive volume, which according to the regulations could not exceed 98 dB), because this gave the opportunity to repair the defects in peace and to re-lock the vehicle the next day present.
On the day of the race there was a total of four runs, two training sessions of 20 minutes each, a qualifying and, finally, the actual race, the Regularity run, during which 35 minutes could be driven. The track was still a bit wet from the nightly rain during the first run, but it got already during the second practice session neatly turned on the gas! On Great fun for everyonethat we spoke to. At the end of the day there were a few technical failures, but no falls, everyone arrived safely at the finish line after the last run.
We hope that the last restrictions due to Corona will no longer apply next year and that we will be able to start again in front of an audience!
Results of the evenness run:
Class 1 (switch scooter)
1st place: Karsten Rehn (total diff. 0.173 sec.)
2nd place: Stefan Menke (total diff. 0.247 sec.)
3rd place: Andy Reid (total diff. 0.491 sec.)
Class 2 (automatic scooter)
1st place: Hans-Werner Both (total diff. 0.011 sec.)
2nd place: Christian Liebig (total diff. 0.024 sec.)

part of Scooter Center Being a team also means working with great people. Driving is even better than working! Passionate Lambrettisti sit in the office on both my left and right. So it was only a matter of time before I would go with one of them. Or rather with her, but she is not just any girl, she is: Yoleila (as she is known on Facebook) or Julia. She is president of the Lambretta Club in Germany, drives scooter races, collects old vehicles in their original condition, works as a graphic designer ... and I could go on with the list. That's why we interview them to find out their story, which we always love to hear.
The result was a very exciting project.
Stay until the end to find out what it's about;)
Travel report Thailand, Bangkok 2018
It's January 2021 the lockdown has just been extended and tightened. The presence in the shop is restricted by the obligation to work from home. And we miss a lot of what makes our lifestyle fun. No runs, no nighters, no weekenders, no races and also no barley juice sextets with friends in the workshop. Cazzo! Sometimes it feels like there's nothing left but Covid.
The other day we were discussing our travel activities for the during our Skype lunch break Scooter Center. We have already done quite a bit and mostly it ended up sweaty and dirty or with a well-groomed hangover on long journeys back in the van on the highway.
One of the ultimate highlights of all trips was the visit to Bangkok in 2018. We have already been to India and Vietnam and have looked at dealers, producers and visited LML several times. The plan for Bangkok was similar. There are plenty of dealers and we wanted to do cold acquisition with classic handle cleaning. And also get a better feel for the scene there, about which we admittedly knew little. With the little bit that we knew, it was somehow clear to us that the basic tenor of the western hemisphere “all copycats there” could not be right. To anticipate it and to spare one or the other a long break from reading: Seldom met such passionate scooterists who are so far ahead and live the whole thing!
Buddy Seat Lambretta Garage
Our first stop after landing was a visit to Buddy Seat Lambretta Garage. An incredibly cool workshop with frame and fork straightening benches on an incredibly high level. We had to give up our attempt to get there on our own, unsuccessfully. Even a taxi driver could only call us at Buddy Seat help. He then came to us to pick us up. And what a start! Hardly two hours in the city and we are escorted by a Lambretta TV 200. Not a bad start to the seven day business trip. The language barrier was unfortunately very high and the Lambretta talk was successfully conducted with hands and feet.

Lambretta Thailand Cafe
Before we start to get bored in epic breadth:
That was our second stop Lambretta Thailand Cafe, in which the Lambretta Thailand store of our very good friend Show is located. He speaks perfect English and took care of us for the rest of our stay, giving us insights that we would have gained without him. Thank you, Show !!! At least for Philipp - maybe even for Ulf - he made a business trip a more than perfect vacation.

Deliver scooter parts in Bangkok with Lambretta TV 175 and Vespa GTS
In addition to our daytime entertainment at the dealers to be visited showed us Show pretty cool places. Places that showed us how passionate and obsessed the Thais are with Vespa and Lambretta. One day we were even allowed to come along Show and Lert Deliver scooter parts on Lambretta TV 175 and Vespa GTS in Bangkok.

The collectors we were allowed to visit cannot go unmentioned. That was really big cinema that we were offered there. And we are always amazed when we look at the pictures.

Ratchada Night Market
Another highlight and a definite recommendation for every Bangkok visitor is the Ratchada Night Market. A place with a couple of little Lambretta shops, lots of vintage car shops, vintage things and clothes. Cafes, bars, including an old American gas station (dismantled, moved over and reassembled in the US) and loads of other things to see, eat and drink.

Vespa & Lambretta Smallframe Tube 3.00 x 10 bgm PRO
With the new bgm PRO hoses, we decided in favor of one better quality and higher security for a very high buty content and therefore for a own tube size for tires up to 3.00-10 and 90 / 90-10 = Vespa & Lambretta Smallframe .
Other hoses with a lower butyl content have more flexibility due to a higher rubber content. This allows you to serve a larger range of possible tire sizes (up to 130 / 90-10), but the major disadvantage is poorer airtightness and puncture resistance.
Our bgm PRO hoses are made according to our specifications especially for the needs of Vespa and Lambretta scooters manufactured. Of the Butyl content is over 55%, that makes them extremely airtight and absolutely reliable. The high butyl content makes the hose more expensive to produce, but the result justifies the effort! Nevertheless, we offer this high-quality hose at a great price:
Assembly instructions assembly Assemble tube and tire
TIP: Our bgm PRO scooter tubes can be used in many vehicles with 10-inch tubular tires. When assembling, insert the tire on the bead with assembly paste and dust the inside of the tire with talcum powder. The assembly paste ensures the correct end position of the tire while the talcum minimizes the friction of the tube.
This maximizes the safety and service life of the hose. Instructions for installing Vespa tires
Lambretta resonance exhaust and Big Box prototype test
A Lambretta exhaust test: the new and upcoming Lambretta Big Box is currently in production. A delivery date is unfortunately still unknown.
The Lambretta exhaust systems in the test
Before we sent the final sample to Spain, the new box was put through its paces again. Lambretta exhaust test: Another prototype box from our friend Chalky from Replay Scooters and JPP came directly to the test bench:
- bgm PRO BigBox Proto
- JPP box prototype
The following resonance racing exhaust systems competed against the pits:
- the TSR Evo,
- the JL3 and
- in MB3
And all three Reso systems did better against the speakers than we would have expected!
The Lambretta engine
The test engine was constructed as follows:
- Cylinder: Converted to membrane RT225 cylinder (BGM2225NR)
- Crankshaft: bgm PRO 110/60 (BGM11060N)
- Ignition: bgm PRO electronic AC ignition (BGM210900KT)
- Carburetor: Dellorto PHBH 30
- Intake manifold: MBD with 6-valve membrane (7672617KT)
- Clutch: bgm PRO 6-disc clutch (BGM8011NR46)
Result & conclusion of the test
Nice and clear to see how good the box is from the start Performancebut also with plenty of torque scores in comparison to the 'racing exhaust systems'.
This is exactly what makes the bgm PRO boxes so nice to drive. There is always enough power available without having to struggle with gear connection problems or having to turn the gas like crazy to get things going.
The moderate consumption values of the engine concepts with the bgm boxes are another advantage, apart from the original look and the pleasant background noise. Another outstanding feature is the protected fastening system with adjustment options in both horizontal and vertical directions. This allows tolerances and, above all, spacers used to be compensated for different strokes and connecting rod lengths.

The boss has come up with something: Lambretta Lui dyno days!
From the very beginning - since 1992 - the Lambretta has been a fixture in our company Scooter Center. Much has changed in almost three decades. In the 90s it was mainly the GP and, if necessary, other Series 3 models, now the entire range is available from Series 1 and 2, the cardan models and right up to the Lambretta 'Smallframes' * more popular than ever.
Grade the small Lambrettas with 50 cc displacement were until the appearance of the 75 Casa Lambretta cylinder Completely useless at the beginning of 2009 due to the extremely modest driving performance.
Ulfs Lui Lambrettas put to the test
We took the soft lockdown as an opportunity to put part of Ulf's Lui collection through its paces. We were particularly interested in how the 75 cc Casa cylinder against the original Innocenti 75 cc beats.
And were surprised at how good it was 75 cc aluminum cylinder with Nikasil coating.
Im Performance chart In the blue corner you can see a completely original lui 50 C. The performance curve with 2,1 HP "peak" performance you unfortunately have to look for at the height of the torque curve of the two 75s.
The green curve with 4,5 HP at around 5.500 rpm was delivered by an original Vega with an SH20 carburetor.
The red curve is a 75 series Casa engine. The cylinder was fired with the 15 SHA carburetor kit (main nozzle 68). A special feature of the engine is the exhaust of the 75 models, which is unfortunately not available and is very popular.
Lambretta LUI tuning configurator
The LUI motor has been assembled with the help of this configurator:

There is much more possible! But maybe more on that next lui dyno days ...
25 years of the Lambretta Club Stockholm
From September 5th to 6th, our friends and long-term customers of the Lambretta Club Stockholm celebrated their 25th anniversary. Due to the Covid restrictions, the anniversary has become an internal club event.
The program included:
- Meet and start in Stockholm
- Ride-out with lunch
- Competitions (slow race, gymkhana, best lambretta)
- Dinner by the water in the old gunpowder house "Kruthuset"
- prize-giving
- 4 DJs and Northern Soul music from 21pm until late
Scooter Center and Casa Lambretta it was an honor to contribute greetings in the form of things for the goodie bags.
We were even more happy about the pictures of how friends have the time of their lives and celebrate themselves and the Lambretta.
The Lambretta ignition
The bgm PRO Lambretta ignition was one of the first of our bgm products. The latest version 4.5 with silicone cable is now available: bgm PRO ignition base plate
The first sample of the ignition base plates was presented at our stand at the Eurolambretta'07 in Neckarsulm. The base plate of our ignitions is based on the electronic ignition that was introduced in 1970 with the Lambretta dl 200 electronic. This Innocenti stator plate was later “adapted” by Piaggio for the Vespa. This type of ignition is probably the most widespread model.
In direct comparison, the bgm PRO ignition base plate gives an extreme stable spark and one thanks to the optimized number of turns and cabling maximum light output.

With version 4.5 of the Lambretta ignition base plate, good things get even better. The good and proven properties of our ignition remain and have been optimized in many small details:
- 120W strong light output thanks to the maximum number of windings
- Proven excitation coil with copper plate for maximum reliability
- Pickup with a carbon barrier layer for a clean ignition pulse
- Neatly processed light coils
- High quality solder joints
- Gray and black bougier tube
- Sufficient cable length for individual cabling
- Optional spacers to adjust the pickup height when used with other pole wheels than the bgm PRO rotor.
New features
- Base plate in black
- Scale with degree-precise scaling for quick setting of the ignition when flashing
- Silicone cables: extremely flexible & temperature resistant (-40 ° C to + 250 ° C).
The alternators are available as AC and DC versions:
-
-
- AC = alternating current = light via alternator
- DC = direct current = light via battery

Little Lambretta really big
The LUI was intended to anticipate 21st century design. Compared to all other previously built scooters, the design is significantly slimmed down and reduced. The implementation of this idea was in the hands of the Bertone design studio. With the LUI and Verga series, Bertone created a really avant-garde design. To this day, LUI and Vega look as fresh as they did in the spring of 1968, when with the slogan "All for Lui, and Lui for all”Was advertised. Only the performance of the LUI with a 50 cc engine is indicated (and rarely achieved in reality) 38 km / h below expectations.
At the latest since completely new possibilities in the tuning sky through the Casa Performance parts The small Lambretta models J, Lui, Vega and Cometa enjoy great popularity.
Lambretta model history & vehicle data
In our Lambretta shop you will not only find a large selection of spare parts, tuning and accessories, but also one Model history including technical data of these vehicles:
- Innocenti Lambretta J 100 (Cento)
- Innocenti Lambretta J125
- Innocenti Lambretta J50
- Innocenti Lambretta Lui 50 (50 C, 50 CL, Luna)
- Innocenti Lambretta Lui 75 (75 S, 75 SL, Vega, Cometa)
Bench for Lambretta LUI
For us scooter drivers, in addition to the performance, the look of our scooters has always been important. benches are an important stylistic device here, with the right seat we can support and underline the shape of our beloved scooters. In addition, they should of course also be as comfortable as possible. We now have a new bench for the Lambretta Smallframe-Models designed.
The shaping of this bgm Our design team has succeeded perfectly with the bench for the Lambretta Lui. The bench follows the line of the tank as if no other bench had ever been intended for this scooter.
The contemporary and high-quality Alfatex cover on the sides of the bench rounds off the picture. The quality, robustness and refinement are at the usual high level of our benches, of course MADE in ITALY.
Our tried-and-tested magnetic mechanism is also used to lock and lock this bench. We are always amazed at how ingeniously easy it is to use and how nicely the bench falls into the lock.
Conclusion on the bgm bench
This bench could probably not have been designed better at Bertone, we can only show you pictures here, to touch, to sit, to let yourself fall into the castle: Please order here!

Two things are essential for the driving behavior of a tire:
- The rubber compound and
- The structure of the tire.
The bgm tires are here Constructed without compromise and developed and produced in Germany. This guarantees a modern process with consistently high quality, attention to detail and technically at the highest level. The specially coordinated material mix with high silica compound takes care of excellent grip in dry and wet conditions.

The extremely stable carcass ensures great straight-line stability and excellent line accuracy when cornering quickly. Usually, scooter tires are simply pressed into shape from a layer of rubber. The bgm tires are much more complex to produce and consist of several layers. The result is a perfect scooter tire with the highest speed rating on the market!
The bgm Classic profile pays homage to the profile type that is used in many models of Vespa and Lambretta was chosen as an OEM tire. It thus perfectly combines a timeless classic profile with the tire technology of the 21st century.
