This year took place Euro Lambretta in Wachtebeke near Ghent, Belgium. The venue was an island in the middle of a large pond at a local campsite.

Around 1.200 Lambretta drivers from all over the world came. The program was well organized and there were a lot of trips that were really great fun.

Of course, we took the opportunity to present our bgm test bike and give the visitors the opportunity to put it through its paces. We also had a parts store set up and our shop demonstrator with us.

It was really a great event and that Scooter Center Team really enjoyed their time in Belgium. We hope you all Euro Lambretta in Avignon, France.

(Photos: Yoleila)

We hung out and got our test bike ready for the EuroLambretta. It was an exciting project and we were well rewarded.

We managed to create a great engine with our bgm parts. 22,5 PS with plug & play tuning is quite an achievement. We used the original 200cc SIL housing halves from India. Here our newly developed MRB RT 225ccm cylinder was installed with the bgm Pro 60/110 crankshaft as well as a new version of the MRB Clubman exhaust specially made for us.

It is also a dream in terms of chassis technology. the bgm damper make something. Now the potholes can come. The road holding is great and I think that the people who will ride our test bike on the EuroLambretta will really enjoy it.

On the last Saturday the scooter friends from Niederruners Moers started the 2nd custom show. Bollwerk 107 in Moers was again chosen as the location. A local radio station was also on site.

Good weather, a great program and sufficient food made the day a great event that also attracted many families. For the little ones there was a bouncy castle and lots of other things to experience and marvel at.

Many visitors were also there with their scooters and so we could count around 120 scooters on the site in the meantime.

We look forward to being there again next year. Kudos to the organization from the scooter friends from Moers.

Here is a small gallery of the winners:

Our bgm test bike. This project will be restored with many of our bgm products in order to be able to present it at the EuroLambretta.

After the first hours of work, we try to get an overview of what is necessary.

So we found out that the scooter definitely needed a new floor pan with leg shield and side panels. With a little skill, the transitions from the cascade to the leg shield and also from the connector and the floor panel fit. Fortunately, almost all Lambretta fairings are available. Our Scooter Center Product stickers can even be seen in the photos.

We left the fender original (swiveling). The mountings for the fender were welded to the opposite side so that our bgm shock absorbers could be welded on professionally.

Now all that's missing is a suitable idea for painting.

In some places on the frame there was a need for action, so we disassembled everything again and made the frame shine.

Of course, we also inspected the engine and disassembled it into its individual parts and also made the housing shine.

Sequel follows…

Also this year, the Niederrunners Moers SC would like to cordially invite you to their 2nd custom show with subsequent nighter!

Sufficient physical well-being is provided again, delicious beer (Becks) from the bottle or freshly tapped from the barrel!

On the other hand, a bouncy castle for the little ones and a test stand for the big ones will provide enough variety this year!

In the evening, the DJ's Champ and Dr. No for swinging the dance floor properly!

To good weather and until April 28.04th !!!!

20 years of SCK must be celebrated. This year's season opening will take place together with Classic Day on May 5th from 10 a.m. to 16 p.m.

If you are passionate about scooters and have lived the scooter cult for decades like the company founders Oliver Kluger and Ulf Schröder, then it is obvious to make more of it. In 1992 Oliver and Ulf founded the in their parents' garage SCOOTER CENTER Cologne. A dream came true. Today is the SCOOTER CENTER GmbH is the oldest and one of the largest Vespa, Lambretta and automatic mail order and online shops on the German market.

This year our Classic Day is all about our 20th anniversary. Our shop will open as usual and there will also be a private parts market. As always, the physical well-being will be well taken care of.

In addition to live music, the test stand will of course also be back in operation. A small contribution towards expenses of 5 € is charged, which is completely donated to the children's hospital in Cologne.

You are all cordially invited to start the season with us. We look forward to you. And here are a few more impressions from last year:

There will also be a joint exit to Cologne city center. On this day there will be 10% off all items in stock in our shop.

Lambretta

LambrettaThe SCOOTER CENTER is traditionally a Lambretta - specialist.

Over 20 years of experience with the Lambretta.
In the early 90s, Oliver Kluger and Ulf Schröder published the Lambretta story in the magazine “Motoretta”.
Later did that SCOOTER CENTER Lambretta models imported directly from India.

The Lambretta Catalog is legendary.
The extensive product range for the Lambretta scooter is constantly being expanded and maintained and with the noble House brand “bgm” new, innovative products for Lambretta (& Vespa) are developed. Casa Lambretta stands for high quality repro parts and spare parts from Italy, the SCOOTER CENTER is an official Germany importer.

But the real Lambretta has not been built in Italy for a long time. And even of the production systems sold to India, Lambrettas have not rolled off the assembly line for a long time.

What happened to the brand? Who Owns Lambretta?

The topic is currently back in the media.

Literature on Lambretta:

Lambretta Book book

A few days ago, Japan's leading scooter magazine SCOOTER DAYS reported on our joint project. With that the story has become official and we want to give a brief overview here.

Taka from lambretta-magazine-japan.net will be responsible for implementing this. Along with MB Developments we will provide the parts for the project. Essentially, these are the complete bgm product range for the Lambretta.

Taka builds a demonstrator that he plans to put out for a test drive at Japanese meetings. Originally an Italian Series 2 was supposed to become the Rallymaster. Here the frame was unfortunately so ramshackle that it didn't fail because of it. Since a replacement was needed quickly, a SIL GP 200 officially imported to Japan is now being used. Special features of the GP 200 for the local market consisted primarily of the use of the SX steering head, a 4-way flashing system similar to the Jet models and a lying spare wheel.
Technically, the box should be brought up to date without losing its suitability for everyday use. The engine is trimmed with the Racetourkit from MB for the small block, the bgm crankshaft with 60 mm stroke and 110 mm Yamaha connecting rod, bgm 30 mm PWK carburetor and Clubman exhaust for a wide torque and low consumption. Hence the use of the MB membrane aspirator. BGM ignition and voltage regulators are used for the ultimate in reliability and versatility.
Chassis and brakes are also adapted to requirements. Gimmicks such as the navigation system at the DC output of the controller, rev counter, fuel gauge and one or two gimmicks round off the whole show.
After the terrible catastrophe, the decision was quickly made to auction the Lambretta for the benefit of the victims.

Vespa calendar 2012
SCOOTER CENTER Calendar 2012

Now it starts again! Last week was the official beginning of spring, yesterday the clocks were set to summer time and here the dates for the obligatory roll-up patter.

Have you already done the first lap on your scooter? We are full of scooter fever and have some new parts at the start that we would like to recommend to you today.

The cover picture of today's newsletter is something very special: together with photographer Christoph Gabler, we are bringing out a great VESPA calendar with completely different motifs and particularly high-quality printing. The calendar is now going to print and the edition is limited - we will inform you as soon as the calendar is available. 2012 including a sheet April - December 2011 to hang up immediately ;-)

Here we go:

Ignition -BGM PRO base plate HP V2.0- Lambretta electronic ignition

Ignition base plate Lambretta V2: it has finally arrived: the ultimate Lambretta ignition base plate with sufficient power.

Five years after we brought the first Lambretta stator plate onto the market, we are proud to be able to present the further optimized version:
create new, optimized windings and improved components, especially in connection with the BGM voltage converter, a light output that is second to none.

We were ourselves surprised how bright the light from the Lambretta can be. Even when you press the brake pedal, the voltage now remains stable and the light is constantly super bright.

Markus Fröschen, the President of the LCD, put it through its paces on the way to the Eurolambretta in Spain last year and was able to charge his navigation system via the BGM voltage regulator WITHOUT BATTERY. You should BGM LED rear light have not yet installed, we recommend this to you as a further optimization

Voltage regulator -4-pin BGM PRO 12V AC / DC

Universal: Vespa & Lambretta

Voltage regulator -4-pin BGM PRO 12V AC / DC- universal

Compact voltage regulator for all electronic ignitions.

The controller supplies alternating current and optionally also direct current. So he is the one perfect replacement for all Ducati 3-pin and 5-pin controllers as well as for the controller of the Vespa and Variotronic.

  • AC - AC alternating current: Input and output for the unregulated alternating current of the ignition base plate and the regulated current for the wiring harness.
  • SENSE: The AC input and output must be bridged. The output voltage is compared with a reference via the sense line (bridge). This means that the voltage remains constant even when the load fluctuates.
  • DC direct current: output with direct current for charging the battery. With a correspondingly powerful ignition system, consumers can also be connected directly. For example: Satnav systems, water pumps, tachometers, speedometers and all kinds of other toys.
  • Earth: Earth connection to the frame, can easily be taken over from the old controller. Otherwise, connect output earth to the frame and, ideally, to the housing of the controller.

The connection to the existing wiring harness is conceivable easy:

With complete AC systems, the regulated AC current simply has to be applied to the lines for the electrical consumers.

For systems that are operated with AC and DC, a distinction only has to be made between AC and DC and wired accordingly.

A few connection examples are provided under the documents on the right.

Crankshaft -BGM Pro Racing 51mm stroke, 105mm connecting rod- Vespa PK 80-125XL

The Vespa Smallframe Racing crankshaft BGM Pro Racing with 51 mm stroke is perfect for class 1 of the ESC.

The proven crank webs of the 54 mm shaft are used here. The larger cheek diameter was retained here in order to achieve a higher overlap on the crank pin and additional security against rotation. at virgin housings you have to spin open the housing. A later ascent to 54mm shaft is then easily possible because the cheek diameters are identical.

That is a huge advantage 105 mm long connecting rod. This is 125 mm longer than the standard connecting rod of the 8 series. A corresponding spacer so that the shaft can also be used with cylinders that are not specially designed for this purpose, we also offer.

The advantages:

  • More favorable deflection angle and thus less friction of the piston in the raceway and thus also more power
  • Lower pre-compression, which is particularly important with the new Reso systems aka Scherer & Ludwig works great
  • The transition to the transfer ports in the motor housing can be designed to be much more favorable in terms of flow

Pressed HIGH QUALITY side panels Vespa

We didn't want to believe it at first, but these hoods are PRESSED. Gone are the days of nasty spatula monsters and excessive, dented piles of rust in well-known auction houses.

The hoods are manufactured on NEW tools with great attention to detail and can hardly be distinguished from NOS hoods. The hoods for the lamp below models should actually be made of aluminum, but the quality compensates for the small deviation from the original. They are delivered in a transport primer which we recommend to remove before applying the paint.

Exhaust insulation wool -BGM PRO

Over time, every rear silencer becomes clogged with carbon deposits and the exhaust becomes louder. In addition, the Negatively impacted performance and of course you magically attract the law enforcement officers. Here it only helps to open the rear silencer of the racing exhaust and to re-insulate it.

New in the program is the BGM exhaust wool, which is ideally suited for this purpose. The core of the wool is made of stainless steel. The outer layer of glass wool with 80µ density.

The wool can easily be trimmed to the right size. Depending on the size of the silencer, the pack is sufficient for one or two refills.

Rubber mallet BGM

At first we thought “Everyone has a hammer anyway”. Upon closer inspection, we knew that this is probably not the case.

Izetools is a renowned manufacturer from Taiwan. Particular emphasis was placed on ergonomics and good "operation". The shaft is ribbed and the weight (1,13 kg) is evenly distributed so that the hammer sits comfortably in the hand.

The real highlight, however, is that the Weight due to lead balls is achieved. These can move in the head and absorb the kickback. With conventional rubber hammers, a large part of the energy is lost in the recoil instead of the impact on the target.

The bgm rubber mallet by Izetools should not be missing in any workshop and the color should help you to always have it at hand ...

Bandit open face helmets

Style tip: Bandit open face helmet

The Bandit helmet has an extremely narrow cut, just like the original: the helmets from the 60s and 70s. It is tight and has a super comfortable fit and this has the advantage, in addition to the great look, that the ears are well protected from the wind and annoying noises.

  • super stylish
  • very easy
  • great fit
  • Fiberglass (GRP) bowl
  • including sun shield
  • including helmet bag
  • quick release
  • 60s / 70s retro design

Scooter Meeting Japan

Scootering Scene Japan

Our good friend Taka Kitagawa organized a nice rally in a family atmosphere in the ISE SHIMA National Park in Japan.

After the first attempt was thwarted by a Typhoon, the time had finally come last weekend. Although winter is just around the corner in Japan, our friends were spoiled with mild temperatures and wonderful sunshine.

After the BIG RUMBLING meeting, the Skooter Ride Out is the second largest event in Japan. The response to the event was so positive that there will definitely be more people next year. And the prognosis is that it will become an integral part of the Japanese rune calendar.

Here is Taka's conclusion: "We are obtaining the feeling that SCOOTERING SCENE of Japan began to move. I have really moved deeply! Thank you SCOOTER CENTER!!! In the rias coast, SHIMA-CITY by which we did Rally is beautiful city. Nice Road, nice food and beautiful scenery! Scooter Scene of Japan received the off-season with our rally. "

If you look at the pictures, you will definitely want to sign it 100% and look forward to the rides and rallies of the next season.

Thanks for the pictures to Nao Sumii!

Many thanks to the Twisted Pistons and the Scooterszene Cologne for a great event with fantastic weather in a great location. The SCOOTER CENTER was happy to support this great event!

The 6. Challenge Scootentole Vespa and Lambretta - races in Magny Cours was a huge success.
The Cahllenge Scootentole is the largest racing event for scooters in France and therefore involves a lot of organizational effort - but our friends from the Scootentole team did a great job!
This year 100 drivers took part in the race for classic scooters (Vespa & Lambretta), which is an increase of 20% compared to the previous year. The starting field was well filled internationally. There were even participants from Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Belgium!

The open class 1 in particular was in great demand, in the so-called tourist class, newcomers could get a taste of racing or scrape the tight curves of the kart track in Magny Cours with their vintage cars under racing conditions.

A highlight was the visit to the local Vespa Club “Vespa Club de Fourchambault”. They enriched the meeting with a great selection of beautiful Vespa scooters.

On a great late summer's day there was no boredom, one race followed another and the battles on the racetrack were very exciting.

Despite spectacular accidents and stunts by some pilots, there were no notable injuries thanks to the respectful and sporty behavior of the drivers.

Here are the results and some impressions from Magni Cours. You can find many more photos here: http://www.michel-lemarie.fr or in the Scootentole forum: http://www.scootentole.org

  • Block profile in the middle of the tread for the most stable straight-line stability, low rolling resistance, high rolling comfort and maximum service life.
  • Slats on the tire shoulder provide additional cornering grip - even in bad weather. You literally bite your way into the asphalt.

Benefiting from the first-time use of silica, which gives the tire rubber in this mixture, in addition to wet adhesion, very special mileage.
With these properties, the Schwalbe Weatherman is ideal for extended scooter tours through different climate zones in all wind and weather.

Mods & Rockers

1964: Thousands of young people from all over the country engage in brutal street battles in the southern English seaside resort of Brighton. The event is taking on proportions that can no longer be booked under pure hooliganism. The enemy camps consist of supporters of two different youth subcultures, the mods and the rockers.

Their conflict is about clothing, territories, musical tastes and a diametrically opposed attitude to life: The rockers expect nothing from society, which they understand as a machine to destroy their outsider individualism; the mods, on the other hand, want to help shape the system, create a space for themselves in which they can live out their codes, their preferences and their aesthetics.

The documentation reveals the background to this escalation and illustrates the desires and motivations of this radical youth. It is also told how much British youth not only overturned their parents' paradigms, but also shaped the international music scene and fashion.

Blues Scooter Club

Riverhouse Scooterrun in Tyrol

At the weekend the legendary scooter meeting took place in Fieberbrunn / Tyrol instead of. The SCOOTER CENTER supports that Vespa- and Lambretta-Meeting for years and was of course at the start again this year.

The LCA (Lambretta Club Austria) and the Blues SC Austria & Munich had loaded and despite the miserable weather, some scooter riders followed the call of the mountains to beautiful Fieberbrunn in Tyrol.

The elaborately prepared puzzle rally had to be canceled due to persistent rain, but that didn't detract from the atmosphere. Towards evening the weather got better and attracted one or the other latecomer to the Riverhouse.
The "Orsi delle Alpi“Scooterclub from Roverreto / Italy received an award for traveling with the largest club. The boys defied the rain and came over the Brenner with over 10 scooters and celebrated vigorously.

Here are the images. We are looking forward to the next year.
