Lambretta Museum Casa Lambretta Vittorio Tessera Itlaia

Lambretta, Lambretta, Lambretta ...

This is the fourth and last part of our trip to Italy:

1. Rimini Lambretta Center 20th Anniversary Open Day / Rimini
2. Try Cromate Scooter Club Ride Out / Rimini
3. Polini factory tour / Bergamo
4. Casa Lambretta and Lambretta Museum visit / Milan

After the morning for the Vespa driver at Polini, there was the compensation program at Casa Lambretta in the afternoon.

Spare parts, accessories and tuning parts for all Lambretta scooters

IMG_1060-lambretta-museum-vittorio-tessera-ital

With Casa Lambretta we deliver all of them to you Lambretta restoration parts. The Casa Lambretta range extends from the parts for the very old Lambretta cardan models m (A) to F, to the Lambretta Smallframe Parts for the Junior and Lui models through to spare parts for the Li family. Next Spare parts “Made In Italy” offers Victor Tessera Auch Accessories and Tuning parts for all Lambretta scooters.

The whole Casa business is very fixated on Vittorio and he is the linchpin for all reproductions. In the recent past have become Dean Orton and that Rimini Lambretta Center offered as an external quality control for Casa. This is how the Casa products are made continuously improved. The latest example is that Toolbox lock for series 3that has got a new lock cylinder and now finally no longer attracts attention by rattling noises.

In addition to the need for restoration, Vittorio Tessera has quite a few Books on the Lambretta and written about scooters in general. With the book Innocenti The Definitive history does Vittorio have that Standard work on the Lambretta created. The book was later expanded to include the Restoration Guide. All the details on the restoration of the various Lambretta models are explained here:

  • Particularities,
  • Paint colors,
  • galvanic process
  • and what else there is to consider

Lambretta Museum

Lambretta Museum Vittorio Tessera Italia

As if that wasn't enough, there is also the museum. Milestones in the development of scooter history can be found here; these have been collected worldwide and, if necessary, also restored. The focus is clearly on the Lambretta and there is a lot to admire here, from the oldest Lambretta to the prototypes, which are also dealt with in Innocenti The Definitive History.

Lambretta Rally

The local Lambretta Club Teste Cromate SC organized as a supporting program for Rimini Lambretta Center Open Day on Sunday a great ride through the rolling hills of Emilia Romagna.

Complete video

Here is the video of the entire exit from the stopover at Europlastsucci GPS speed indicator, have fun:

Delicious stopover

After a few kilometers in one routinely organized corso with about fifty lambrettas, we reach the first stage destination: Europlastsucci. Long-standing customer and manufacturer of GRP frame parts and others Lambretta specialties.

DSC01250-lambretta-rally-irimini-taly

There is one here to strengthen yourself for the onward journey and as a mental preparation for the upcoming lunch Aperitif. After adjusting the idle gas with Prosecco and other fortifications in non-liquid form, we leave the city and it goes on a great route in and through the mountains.

Lambretta BSG Corse with 45 HP and 305 cc

Of course we already had the opportunity to ride a lot of extreme scooters. But what Philip was allowed to drive on the Corso the hammer:

Lambretta Scooter Center Italy

The BSG Corse Lambretta with a displacement of 305 cc and an output of over 50 hp. The most violent thing we've ever driven. CNC - engine block milled from one piece, 305 cc BSG Corse cylinder, Cyclone5 five-speed transmission and bgm PRO Superstrong clutch. This monster has over 50 hp. For the RLC Open Day, the demonstrator was unfortunately throttled from 51 HP to 45 HP via the ignition.

The first impression:

The beast hangs on the gas, with the blink of an eye you are beyond 100 km / h. The switching operations are thanks bgm PRO SUPERSTRONG clutch clean, simple and soft as butter, the gearbox with 5 gears is great. Endless power and pressure in every gear.
DSC01186rimini-lambretta-italrimini-lambretta-ital

DSC01187rimini-lambretta-italrimini-lambretta-ital

Lambretta with a lot of steam

Im CNC motor runs a nice wide crankshaft with two huge bearings. But in spite of that 305 cc runs the engine thanks to the bgm silent blocks äextremely low vibration. The bgm PRO Lambretta chassis brings the power safely and confidently to the road. Despite the rather massive belly of the exhaust, there are no bumps or similar ground contact in the switchbacks in the mountains. the MMW brake ensures the appropriate delay.

The engine has an insane power. The frame reaches its limits due to the power that the engine makes available. Not entirely unexpected when you consider that this engine is the five times the power of the original engine has.

Many thanks to Dean Orton for this great experience with this scooter!
Thanks to the Try Cromate SC for this beautiful day!

In the footsteps of the Scooter Center History on Lake Garda

The video for the first stage

The first stage destination was Lake Garda. Here we visited old friends, enjoyed Italy and remembered the old stories with joy. Lake Garda plays an important role in the 23-year-old history of Scooter Centers .

In Malcesine, Oliver Kluger had it back then very first scooter for the Scooter Center bought and transferred to Germany - it was one Vespa Rally TS 125. The Vespa was later refurbished and sold in Cologne. Volker bought it back then and still drives it today. He is our very first customer and of course still loyal to us today. While we are better known for our fast delivery of scooter spare, tuning and spare parts, we have a momentum at the moment used Vespa scooters on offer.

After a short night, it starts very early on Saturday to Rimini. The route sounds like music to your ears: “Verona, Mantova, Modena, Bologna, Imola, Rimini” and the closer we get to the goal, the greater the anticipation.

The Rimini Lambretta Center and Dean Orton

The Rimini Lambretta Center has been a good customer for years and supplies us with the CYCLONE 5 speed Lambretta transmission, the Maxi Flusso Lambretta intake manifold and the new one Casa Lambretta Performance cylinders.

Rimini Lambretta Center

That this Lambretta 5 speed gearbox is more than just a scooter part for Dean, you can also tell by that CYCLONE 5 Tattoo on his forearm. We mainly supply Rimini with ours bgm products, which they also use for their restorations. The Lambretta restorations are also the main business of the team around Dean Orton. The RLC loves and lives Lambretta. Spectacular Lambretta scooters are created in the impressive workshop. So the anticipation and our expectations were great and we should not be disappointed ...

Rimini in Emilia Romagna

“Rimini: Adriatic Sea, center of bathing tourism - a bathing resort with a long tradition, sand, sun, beach, sea“. But there are more important things to us! And that is in the Zona Industriale: The 20th birthday and OpenDay of the Rimini Lambretta Center.
After a warm welcome from many old friends, it is time to set up the stand. Which is done very quickly because Philipp sent the goods for the stand to the wrong address ... :-) Fortunately, we were able to help ourselves from the RLC warehouse and equip the stand.

bgm tuning Scooter Center in Rimini at Rimini Lambretta Center

Rimini Lambretta Center OpenDay

The area around the RLC quickly fills up with mostly Italian and English Lambrettisti. It was about 500 visitors on site with about 120 lambrettas and just a handful of Vespas.

Dean has to XNUMXth anniversary of the RLC quite turned up. When you enter the shop, you are first met by one Lambretta world record car Received: The fully disguised Lambretta that died on August 8th, 1951 200 km/h Broke mark over the flying kilometer. Romolo Ferri has the world record drove out on the closed autobahn between Ingolstadt and Munich. The mechanically charged one 125 cc engine should have around 21 hp have had.

A huge mobile pizzeria supplied the visitors with the finest specialties from the region, there was also plenty of vino, aqua, beer and a café.

Spectacular Lambretta test drive

The RLC had closed a circuit for public transport so that the scooters could be tested - once around the industrial park.

DSC01225rimini-lambretta-italrimini-lambretta-ital

DSC01228rimini-lambretta-italrimini-lambretta-ital

In addition to the scooters built by the RLC, it is mainly scooters from the Casa Lambretta collection that can be driven here. The two are in the focus of those present Lambretta Innocenti two-cylinder prototypes. This has Victor Tessera have the RLC processed in the last few months. In the June issue of scootering the reconditioning down to the innards of the engine will be presented. We also tested the original Innocenti two-cylinder prototypes. And here you can only say: it's a shame that it didn't make it into series production.

Lambretta with 305cc and 50PS

305cc and over 50PS - the hardest we have ever ridden: the BSG CasaPerformance 305cc prototypes. CNC engine block with 305cc BSG cylinder, Cyclone5 five-speed gearbox and bgm PRO Superstrong clutch. This monster brings about 50 PS. For the test drives, the Lambretta was castrated to 45 hp via the programmable ignition. At the exit on Sunday we had the opportunity to test it extensively, the video of the exit follows in the second part. Watch this space!

BSG Corse had scooters with impressive performance. Especially the Vespa Smallframes raced across the course at dizzying speeds. They were later joined by the legendary Signor Angelo Zirri and almost the entire Italian Smallframe Tuning scene was on site.

Unfortunately, since even the most beautiful events come to an end, at some point it will be dismantling!
Fortunately, there is still the joint dinner and the nighter with a great view over the mountains!

Nighter in the mountains of Emilia Romagna

The common meal and the allnighter took place in an osteria in the mountains. Fantastic location with a view of the lights of Rimini and San Marino in the distance.

Lots of nice conversations, lots of Italian snacks and a few vinos later we fell into bed sometime in the early morning. The rest was only brief and the recovery little, because the next highlight was already a few hours. On the exit we had the opportunity to test the 305cc prototype, especially with regard to the built-in bgm parts.

New Lambretta clutch MADE IN GERMANY

The bgm super strong A new family is growing Lambretta clutch.

With the BGM Superstrong coupling for the Lambretta GP and LI models we can now offer you a clutch for your Lambretta with sprockets 46 and 47 teeth.

The scope of delivery includes the complete clutch kit with 6 disks and 10 springs, including the pressure plates for the Lambretta GP and LI / SX gearbox cover.

lambretta coupling made in germany

Lambretta clutch with 6 discs

Clutch linings, steel plates and springs

Lambretta Superstrong clutch plates BGM8006

Lambretta clutch with 10 springs

With the 10 bgm PRO XL springs and the bgm 6-disc clutch linings a very high torque can also be transmitted with a very short reduction ratio from pinion to sprocket: Mathematically up to 60Nm.

By the use of ten feathers you have a lot of options to determine the perfect selection of spring force for your engine.

Chain wheels with 46 and 47 teeth

With the sprockets you have the choice between 46 teeth and 47 teeth.

Due to the very open design, the sprocket remains very light and enough oil can penetrate to the coupling socket at any time.
The flanks of the sprockets are lengthened to give other combinations of clutch linings and steel disks enough space.

Together with the bgm pinions you can put together your own individual gradation depending on the gearbox.

Lambretta Superstrong clutch BGM8011R46 (4)

Coupling spider, base plate and cover plate

In order to ensure good operability, the coupling spider, the base plate and the cover plate have been completely reconsidered.

The coupling spider has been lengthened and the flanks have been adapted to the base plate. This guarantees good ease of movement even under high impact loads without the base plate tending to set. This effect is further reinforced by the 10 springs evenly supported.

The overhang of the coupling spider to the chain wheel is a maximum of 0,1mm. By maintaining this low tolerance and by using the BGM coupling socket, clean and good guidance of the sprocket is permanently guaranteed.

Built-in clutch compressor

Practical; the integrated clutch compressor.

With 2 screws you can easily change the pad or spring. Two screws are lighter and easier to stow away than the big brother from the workshop, especially for traveling on longer tours.

The dimensions correspond to the original from Innocenti, so that the chain line is correct. The pinions are labeled for easy identification. This means that even when installed, it is possible to see which gear reduction is pulling on the rear wheel without the hassle of counting.

Lambretta cylinder BGM PRO MRB Racetour 195ccm BGM2200 (

Finally available again: the bgm PRO 195 cc Racetour cylinder

The Lambretta cylinder in the video:

THE Lambretta cylinder for the small block:

Mark Broadhurst has incorporated his experience from several decades of Lambretta tuning and over 1.700 tuned two-stroke cylinders into the development of the RaceTour cylinders. The cylinders are available with a 65 mm bore for the small engine cases with 125-175 ccm and with a 70 mm bore for the 200 cc engine case.

POWER:

The cylinders offer significantly increased performance and thus more everyday usability and driving pleasure:

  • Around 14 hp with a 22 mm carburetor and Clubman exhaust *
  • Around 15-20 hp with a 24/25 mm carburetor and Clubman exhaust *
  • Around 16-24 hp with a 28/30 mm carburetor and Clubman exhaust *
  • Around 18-24 hp with a 28/30 mm carburetor and Dev-Tour exhaust

The power is available relatively early in the rev range and the kits have enough torque to drive longer gear ratios. The power delivery is very even, so that RaceTour engines feel like an original Innocenti 200 engine but with twice the power.

Like the original cylinder, the carburetor is on the left-hand side. No changes need to be made to the frame or the add-on parts. This makes the RaceTour the ideal cylinder for everyone who doesn't want to change the look of their Lambretta, but still doesn't want to forego performance.
All required seals, stud bolts and small parts are included in the scope of delivery.

PROPERTIES:

  • Ceramic coated aluminum cylinder
  • Quadruple screw connection at the outlet
  • 200 ccm stud spacing for the intake manifold in the version for small and large engines
  • Forged piston with Ø = 65 mm for the 195 and with Ø = 70 mm for the 225 cylinder
  • Two 1 mm thin rings in the best Japanese quality
  • Solid, completely CNC manufactured head with recessed combustion chamber. Eight-fold screw connection. Made in Germany.
  • Compression ratio for maximum reliability when used with both 58 mm and 60 mm strokes.
  • Porting layout for high cruising speeds, lots of torque and a wide range of power
  • The purchase price is refinanced through the moderate consumption values
  • There is sufficient material on all sealing surfaces and channels to machine the cylinder to the maximum

* The higher Clubman performance specifications are possible with the bgm MRB Big Box Clubman exhaust.

Forged full circle shaft with Yamaha connecting rods.
Great emphasis was placed on balancing during development. Thanks to tungsten weights (100 g per crank web), copper weights and hidden pockets, the shaft has an exceptionally high balance factor. This ensures particularly low-vibration engine operation.
The longer connecting rod offers a better deflection angle and thus relief for the lower connecting rod bearing. The longer connecting rod is balanced with a 3 mm foot spacer. The lower connecting rod bearing is lubricated via two large lubrication slots. The open silver cage bearing can cope with the highest demands.
The diameter of the crank pin is 22 mm. In connection with the correct undersize to the crank web and a special adhesive as a lubricant, the shaft is perfectly protected against twisting.
CONCLUSION: The bottom line is that the bgm crankshaft offers the highest quality in all respects. From every component to the manufacturing accuracy to the materials used.

Hidden-Vespa-and-Lambretta-treasures

Do they still exist? The real garage find? Loft find?

Do you still get nervous when you pass old sheds, garages and junkyards in Italy?
Even after more than 30 years, the tingling does not let go of us to this day!

PURE SCOOTERING!

We have collected a few nice examples for you here.

What was your best find?
How, when and where did you pick up a Vespa or Lambretta treasure?

I remembered two experiences in particular.

Vespa barn find

On a farm in the Rhineland: The scene like in the best Scooterist film.

The farmer pushed the heavy barn door aside with a creak and led me to the farthest corner. The evening sun shone through the holey barn wall. There she stood - surrounded by dusty bales of straw and old farm implements: an old Vespa - more precisely, a complete Hoffmann Queen.

Although completely covered with a thick layer of dust and full of cobwebs that were now illuminated by the sun and glittered in the light like precious stones. Gold - for me it was pure gold. I was rooted to the spot; I had dreamed of this moment for years. On several trips to Italy I had driven people crazy: “Look at the shed - there is probably stilln there old scooter inside ".

But then it rattled in my ears something like this: "Dat things are still from Minge Pap. If I do mol Zig, I do them for my grandchildren".
Believe me, I tried everything back then, the good Lord didn't want to give her up.

Is it still there today?

Vespa in junkyard

I was once more successful in a junkyard on Lake Como. The owner was just about to set the dogs on me when I discovered the Vespa Stuzzo in a pile of junk and was able to convince him with hands and feet of my interest in the rusty scooter.

Except for the engine complete, even the original key was still in place. Well, little paint - some rust ... anyway - one in my eyes real bargain - For my parents it was more of a disaster at the time ;-)

The price in lire was negotiated on the dusty bonnet of my silver Clio.

And the entire village youth gathered around my sporty small car when I was clearing out the luggage for 2 people from a 2 week camping holiday. When I pulled out my toolbox, there was a big laugh: "Vespa -> Clio: NIENTE"

Waving happily, I drove slightly overloaded and cramped with Vespa and luggage in the Clio over the next pass home. Looking in the mirror, I looked happily into astonished faces ...

Fast Lambretta

The flying Austrian with a crass Lambretta engine setup?

Today we have the 100 - participant mark at our Facebook - Customshow cracked and a cool participant photo of the flying Peter on his Lambretta is also there again:

Lambretta engine setup?

Here of course the question arises which one Lambretta engine Setup throws the driver off the seat like this. If I didn't know better, one might think that the photo is a fake. This pilot fluttering in the airstream on on his Lambretta looks awesome. I could imagine that he installed at least the components below. If you look closely: this obviously unstable driving behavior could also be due to the missing additional shock absorbers at the front. That Scooter Center recommends here of course: Lambretta shock absorbers bgm PRO with 16-way adjustable rebound adjustment

  • Developed as an update for all types of fork springs. Works particularly well with the progressive MB fork springs.
  • Easy to install, fit directly onto the standard additional shock absorber mounts. No welding work or further modifications required.
  • Perfect addition to the rear bgm Shock absorbers.
  • Attention: The damper should be installed in such a way that the adjuster is installed at the bottom.

Lambretta Engine Setup:

The Lambretta seems to be a sg street sleeper to be. A lot of steam under the side panels - but you don't see it at first glance - Peter almost takes off his pants, like the one going on here on the beach. So it could be like this:

Lambretta cylinder: bgm MRB Racetour

BGM2225 our best cylinder for a Lambretta engine Cylinder -BGM PRO MRB-Racetour 225 cc- Lambretta TV 200, SX 200, DL 200, GP 200 Mark Broadhurst has incorporated his experience from several decades of Lambretta tunings and over 1.700 tuned two-stroke cylinders into the development of the RaceTour cylinders. The cylinders are available with a 65 mm bore for the small engine cases with 125-175 ccm and with a 70 mm bore for the 200 cc engine case.

  • Around the 18-24 PX with 28/30 mm carburetor and Dev-Tour exhaust

The power is available relatively early in the rev range and the kits have enough torque to drive longer gear ratios. The power delivery is very even, so that RaceTour engines feel like an original Innocenti 200 engine but with twice the power. Like the original cylinder, the carburetor is on the left-hand side. No changes need to be made to the frame or the add-on parts. This makes the RaceTour the ideal cylinder for everyone who doesn't want to change the look of their Lambretta, but still doesn't want to forego performance. All required seals, stud bolts and small parts are included in the scope of delivery.Characteristics:

  • Ceramic coated aluminum cylinder
  • Quadruple screw connection at the outlet
  • 200 cc stud spacing for the small and large engine version

Lambretta exhaust: bgm MRB BigBox

Lambretta exhaust BGM2105 for Lambretta engine

With the BIG BOX Clubman, too, Mark Broadhurst made full use of his experience. So he has managed to accommodate the performance of a resonance exhaust in an exhaust body that is visually not far removed from an original Lambretta Series 3 exhaust. In terms of performance and speed, our Clubman is on the level of the highly recommended -but no longer produced- MRB Devtour exhaust. Here you will find torque, a wide power range and a very pleasant noise level. The first clubman for that Scooter Center Mark made it by hand for Ulf around twenty years ago. Today, with the BIG BOX, we produce what is probably the best Clubman of all time.

  • There are several features for the first time in series production:
  • Performance like a resonance exhaust
  • Quiet
  • Larger volume of the exhaust body
  • More ground clearance
  • Outlet socket for round (TS1 & Co.) and oval (RaceTour, Mugello, Standard, ...) outlet
  • The outlet, manifold and body are suspended from springs
  • Reinforced at all critical points
  • Suspension like the racing exhaust for perfect and tension-free assembly
  • Can be dismantled without having to remove the right footboard or the cylinder hood
  • Well thought-out design that works

Since the inquiries are increasing, we are very happy to announce a binding delivery date. The cylinders we produce for MB Developments will be with us in mid-June.

Yesterday we were guests on the fifth night trip in Cologne. After work, Alex, Jadran, Andreas and Stefan left Scooter Center off, on the way to Ehrenfeld. Our was also there bgm Lambretta, which was on several runs this year and now has 3.500km on the clock and has been running excellently since then. They met at Neptunplatz, where almost 75 scooter drivers had gathered by the time they left. Lots of familiar faces were there and at a mild 17 ° it was really pleasant to drive.

It started at 21 p.m. From the Neptunlatz it was first out of the city center in the direction of Brauweiler. We continued in the northwest via Pulheim, Rheinkassel and Auweiler back to Cologne where the tour ended at the brewery. Almost 60km tour through the night. It was a great ride on an exceptionally warm October night. That Scooter Center Team says thank you and is looking forward to the 6th Cologne night trip in 2013.

Unwinders in Aachen 2013

On Saturday we were guests at the Abrollern in Aachen. Our was there too bgm Lambretta. It has been taking place annually since 2009 Rolling on and off in Aachen instead of. Where in 2009 they started at the old border house in Vaals with almost 50 scooters, yesterday there were around 150 scooter drivers who, despite the bad weather forecast, made the journey to Aachen. A scooterist from Wolfsburg had the longest journey. Respect. As usual, they met in a parking lot at the Preuswald in Aachen.

From the start and finish point it is just under 2,5 km to the Belgian border. The tour then took us 60 km through the Belgian eastern cantons.

After a good 30 km, a small stop was made at the Henry Chapel cemetery of honor. Here you had enough time to stretch your legs and get an overview.

After the break, the second stage took us back to Aachen. The weather hadn't let us down and Petrus must be a Vespa driver. So you could end the successful day with sausage and drink.

The Scooter Center Team says thank you and is looking forward to the 5th roll-in in Aachen 2013.

Here you can find all pictures !!!

Here is another successful video with great impressions:

Unrollers Aachen October 13, 2012

One day after our season end and Classic Day the Düsselvespen unwinding took place in Düsseldorf. Since the first joint exit was already really good, we didn't want to miss this date despite all the preparations for our event. Said and done. On Sunday morning at 9.30 a.m. we went with ours bgm Lambretta towards the “Forbidden City”. Thanks to our Lammy, the journey was faster than expected and we were even the first on site.

They met at Burgplatz, which is centrally located in Düsseldorf's old town. Here you then had the opportunity to have the first talks. The local press was also there and the passers-by and tourists were amazed to see so many classic switch scooters in downtown Düsseldorf.

The tour then started from Burgplatz into the Düsseldorf area. After about 50 km of tour, you stopped in a beer garden to end the day together.

Unwind September 2012
