GENTLE ON THE FRAME AND NO MORE CRACKS IN THE RUNNING BOARD

A footboard cracked by the constant, unchecked folding of the main stand is something we all want to avoid.

The Soft Stop main stand comes with special stand plates. This means that there is no longer any contact between the base of the stand and the running board - cracks in the running board area are a thing of the past and the frame is also protected.

On Saturday, October 08.10th, the EST season finale was heralded in Jüterbog. In most classes, the champions of this year's European Scooter Trophy and the European PitBike Trophy were already certain, but behind them there were still important points at stake for the other places in the table. Despite the day event, the field of drivers was well filled and before the big party could start in the evening, the way was clear for a great motorsport Saturday in the EST racing circuit.

The results of the event by class:

Class 1 - Rookies by Scooter-Attack:

Hüske's fastest in his class also dominated the field in the first sprint race. Behind them came Piekatz. Jorgensen was able to collect Müller at the start. However, Jorgensen couldn't keep up the pace from the start and later ended up in 5th place. Winterscheidt was able to work its way up to 3rd place. Hüskes at the front turned a lonely race with a large gap to Piekatz and Hüskes could not hinder the laps on the way to victory. Piekatz took a good second place ahead of Winterscheidt.

Things didn't look good for Hüskes for the second race. Already in the warm-up he had technical problems and was only able to get onto his grid position with a delay. It was confirmed as soon as it started. Hüskes was passed through the field. Piekatz took first place with it, followed directly by Jorgensen. Winterscheidt and Kienzle in third and fourth place. Piekatz was under a lot of pressure from Jorgensen and had to give everything not to lose the lead. But soon it became clear that he could not stop Jorgensen. This grabbed Piekatz. In the chasing role, Piekatz was able to build up pressure again and went on the counteroffensive. Jorgensen held against it. It was also exciting behind it. Winterscheidt and Kienzle fought a great duel. Piekatz fell shortly before the end and robbed himself of valuable points for the day's victory. In the end he even had to give up completely, so Jorgensen won ahead of Winterscheidt and Kienzle.

Day class 1 - Rookies by Scooter-Attack

  1. #20 Marcel Winterscheidt 36 pts.
  2. #991 Jacob Jorgensen 34 pts
  3. #47 Sascha Hüskes 30 pts.

Class 2 - SuperSport

Triebs, who was already champion in Juvaincourt, also showed in Jüterbog why he is at the top of the SuperSport this year. Great performance, calm driving style and a lot of speed were also his godfather in Jüterbog. The Dane Diabelez tried to keep up. Triebs, however, was able to keep him at a sufficient distance. Behind them a three-way battle raged between Merling, Drath and Apostel. Here was for everyone, everything in it. Keep your cool and don't make mistakes. Merling's Scooter dropped after half-time. Drath and Apostel knew how to take advantage of this and were able to overtake. Drath, released from the three-way battle, was able to pull away from his pursuers. However, Diabelez was already too far away to attack again. Nothing burned at the front and Triebs won the first race.

Triebs thundered away from everyone in the second race as well. Diabelez had technical problems at the start and was passed through the field once. Depta on two and directly in a duel with Drath. This didn't hesitate and overtook Depta as well as Apostel. Things didn't go well for Drath during the race. The scooter lacked power. He lost more and more places. This enabled Apostle to take second place. Compared to the first race, Sperling improved significantly and moved up to third place. And he noticed that there was still more to it, so the challenge to the apostles was clear. Apostle and Sparrow fought.

Sperling had the faster scooter, but Apostel cleverly closed it. That went to the substance at Sperling. In the background, Just and Depta had fought their way up to the two. Just took advantage of Sperling's inattentiveness for a second and overtook him. Even apostles should still believe in it. Just did it very well and was able to concede it too. Triebs didn’t notice any of this at the top. This brought in his second win of the day.

Daily classification class 2 - SuperSport

  1. #313 Marcel Triebs 50 pts.
  2. #42 Bastian Just 29 pts.
  3. #32 Gabriel Apostle 29 pts

Class 3 - Expert by Scooter-Attack

As always, the Expert race was spectacular. Ong had secured pole position in front of Lukas and the champion Andersen. Andersen got off to a great start and immediately took second place. Lukas on three and Schnell on four. Andersen was also able to pass Ong on lap two. However, he didn't let him go away, but tried to keep at it. Two scooter lengths behind, Ong waited for Andersen to make a mistake. Lukas retired early from the fight for the podium after a fall. With luck he was able to get back into the race ahead of the large group of pursuers. In third place, Schnelle asserted itself. In the constellation it was round after round. None of the opponents made mistakes and so Andersen was able to win ahead of Ong and Schnelle.

In the second race, Andersen drove straight to the front of the field. Ong behind kept his eyes on the Dane and didn't let him pull away. Lukas also wanted to get involved and made a three-way fight out of the duel and so it went into a strenuous internal fight for laps. You could feel that Ong could get more out of the scooter but getting past Andersen was extremely difficult for him. However, Ong was able to seize his chance and brake from the inside, leaving Ong in the lead ahead of Andersen and Lukas. But Andersen didn't let that sit and took the lead back. In the end he was rewarded for a great performance with two wins. Second place went to Ong ahead of Lukas.

Day class 3 - Expert by Scooter-Attack

  1. #336 Stefan Andersen 50pts
  2. #169 Yannik Ong 40 pts
  3. #111 Andreas Lukas 29 pts.

Class 4 - Supramatic & BigBore

Hüser just sprinted away from the field. At the lonely top he raced to a flawless victory. Bickell dropped out with a technical defect. Second was Kazillas.

Second race, second victory for Hüser. The direct competitor Kazillas had no chance and took second place like in the first race.

Day rating class 4 - Supramatic & BigBore

  1. #81 Christian Hüser 50 pts.
  2. #191 Georgios Kazillas 40 pts.
  3. #21 Sven Bickell 16 pts.

Class 5 - PitBike Stock by Scooter-Attack

Ullrich in 1st place had to give up his ambitions to win early in the race. Technical problems brought him a big backlog. So Ullrich had no chance to get in the top three. Wittwer was able to take the lead directly and build up a large lead over Wolf. It was a hot battle for third place between Nabbefeld and Hartmann. In the end, Nabbefeld had the upper hand. Wittwer took the first win ahead of Wolf.

In the second race, Ullrich was able to get involved again as usual. This also went straight to the top of the class. Wittwer in second place had little to do against Ullrich. Wolf drove in third place. In the end, Wittwer was happy about the day's victory.

Day rating class 5 - PitBike Stock by Scooter-Attack

  1. #112 Jonas Wittwer 45 pts.
  2. #99 Paul Ullrich 36 pts.
  3. #58 Sebastian Wolf 36 pts.

Grade 6 - GP Open

Gras started the race from 1st place, followed by Florian Schweitzer. Both fought hard for first place. Gras was initially able to keep Schweitzer in check. Schweitzer got faster bit by bit and waited for his chance. And he should be rewarded. At a good moment, Schweitzer overtakes Gras. Julian Schweitzer in 3rd place could not quite keep up during the race. He let the duo go, who fought to the finish line until the end. Schweitzer remained steadfast and won in front of Gras.

In the second race, Gras Schweitzer didn't want to admit defeat. Compared to the first race, Gras was able to extend the lead to such an extent that Schweitzer was no longer within striking distance. And so both clearly pulled away from the field of pursuers. Florian Schweitzer took the place, but he could no longer pose a threat to the duo.

Day ranking class 6 - GP-Open

  1. #222 Henning Grass 45 pts.
  2. #86 Florian Schweitzer 45 pts.
  3. #306 Julian Ziegler 29 pts.

Grade 7 - Beginners

The start of the beginners was interrupted by several falls. As a result, the race was stopped. At the restart, Illic took the lead, followed by Weiland. Gaidecka had to pass right away due to a technical defect. Maas and Kalms followed in 3rd and 4th place. Illic quickly built up a lead over Weiland. Maas was able to increase his speed during the race and put Weiland under pressure. This could not defend himself against Maas and had to let him pass. At the end it got tight again for Weiland as Kalms caught up more and more. However, before he could overtake Weiland, the race was over. Ilic was happy about his sovereign victory in front of Maas and Weiland.

Daily classification Class 7 - Beginners

  1. #186 Danny Illic 25 pts
  2. #34 Sascha Maas 20 pts.
  3. #333 Tilo Weiland 16 pts.

Class 8 Endurance & 9 Endurance Split

In the shortened long-distance race, 16 teams duel at the start this time. The 1-day event traditionally covered the race distance of 1,5 hours. So the direction was to step on the gas and not tactically. And the 1,5 hour race was also turbulent and clear. At the latest after a short, heavy shower, the field was totally muddled at the end. At the end of the day, everyone was happy that the ambulance was able to stay in its waiting position despite various falls.

Challenge Scootentole – 10h race in Magny-Cours, Nevers (F)

Stickers on the Paul Vespa

The last long-distance race of the season took place in Magny-Cours last weekend. Scootentole invited to the 10-hour race on the 'PISTE CLUB', a 2,53 km long race track right next to the well-known GP track. As in previous years, we followedProject PAUL“ – along with 40 other racing teams from all over Europe – their invitation, because last year’s title had to be defended!

Despite some turbulence in the run-up - due to the organizer's postponement of dates and driver absences due to illness - we finally managed to win two teams with four drivers each in class SP1 ("Smallframe Proto") to name:

Team 1 consisting of Romain, Felix, Wolfi and Thomas went with the 40 hp strong M200 V50 racer (#6) at the start,

Team 2 with the Falc-PK (#176) with around 28 hp, driven by Volker, Markus, Julia and Dennis, who was also the boss and main mechanic of both teams (which should push him to his limits). But from the beginning...

After a long journey and a short night in a - let's call it - "cozy" 10-person mobile home, on Saturday, the day before the actual race, there was set-up, training and qualifying. Unfortunately, Peter showed no mercy, again and again it poured like buckets. With positions 6 and 19 on the grid after qualifying and the hope of drier conditions the next day, things went down early in the evening because the next day was supposed to start early!

Luckily, the race day started much drier than the day before, so we decided against rain tires. And then it finally started! The starting shot was fired at 8.45:XNUMX a.m. On slicks with the road still wet, Wolfi and Markus confidently drove the first stint. The track gradually dried out, which led to better and better lap times – until the first race was stopped after around three hours. A serious crash by a rider from another team kept the rescue team busy for a long time, with all riders stuck behind the safety car.

At this point, Team 2 was back in the box with its PK. The engine stalled during the third stint. The cause was quickly found: Massive tooth loss on the clutch sprocket gave us a four-hour break, during which Dennis, Volker and Markus disassembled the engine to search for the lost teeth. I quote pit neighbor Robert: "Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the tree"...

Meanwhile, the race had picked up speed again - and so did our Romain: he drove his new best lap time of 1.28.116:6:2 and thus the third fastest lap time of the entire race. Starting from position XNUMX, we were now in position XNUMX just behind “Vespa Italy Team” from Crimaz and ahead of “Superbordel Deluxe”, our French battle partners from last year. The Lambrettas from Casa Performance and TD Customs were also in the front places and made for an exciting race!

Dropping back to 39th place, team 15 started to catch up around 2 p.m. Well, there can be no question of a real catch-up race, but at least a few laps could be collected, because the engine not only held up, it also ran like clockwork again. The guys did a great job and didn't give up and that's what it's all about in the end!

About two hours before the end of the race, team 1 was also hit. After the carburetor had slipped, a defective gudgeon pin bearing forced us to replace the engine. There were now too many laps between us and the very strong competition, which continued to battle for the top positions. And although a place on the podium could only have been achieved if one of the other teams dropped out, the fight continued until the checkered flag was waved exactly 10 hours later.

In the end, Project PAUL achieved 1th place (Team 4) and 1th place (Team 10) in class SP2, which meant 7th and 33rd place overall. Casa Performance burned the fastest lap time of 1.26.766, followed by Vespa Italy Team (1.27.527) and Projekt Paul (1.28.116).

We congratulate all drivers who made it across the finish line and thank each and every one of them, especially the organizer Scootentole, who made this exciting race weekend possible. Also our sponsors, the Scooter Center, KR Automation, FalkR and Egig Performance, we would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU, because only with you Project PAUL is what it is - a successful team of friends with a lot of heart for motorsport!

We had the honor of sponsoring the Scooter Liada Rally 2022 event and Javier Peres tells us here a little about what such an incredible experience was.

thank you javier for sharing with us!!

Organizers of the iconic Scooter Liada Rally in Asturias (Northern Spain) brought the popular event back with a bang after a two year absence. The rally was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to pandemic restrictions, with the last one taking place in 2019.

Asturias went retro and headed back to the 60's last Saturday, August 20th, as it played host to the long awaited 10th anniversary Scooter Liada Rally. Scooter enthusiasts of all ages converged at the Plaza Europa in the town center at 11am. From there, they rode out towards Muros del Nalón where they stopped for a drink and a live concert and then headed for lunch in a small village called Pillarno at 3pm. Around 5pm, a raffle took place anf the luckiest ones were awarded with gifts and prizes.

Back in 2019, around 75 scooters took part in a ride around the beautiful landscapes of this part of Asturias. To celebrate its 10th anniversary organizers managed to bring over 90 Vespas and Lambrettas. Enthusiasts traveled to Piedras Blancas from all over Spain to share their passion with fellow riders. The atmosphere was fantastic as the people who attended were such a great bunch, it was definitely a pleasant Vespa and Lambretta meeting. A great band, cool DJs, all always in a good mood and happy. It was great to be there at this family reunion of the LSC
(Liada's Scooter Club)

It's almost been a month since our weekend party, but we're still totally thrilled that you all came and made the event what it was: A huge custom show highlight with a consistently great atmosphere in every respect ! The complete Scooter Center Team says: THANK YOU!!!

After presenting the winning scooters of the custom show here, today we will show you which clubs, aftermarket dealers, influencers, youtubers, magazines and of course dealers and workshops have come to Cologne. Here, too, we politely curtsey and say: THANK YOU!

Clubs

Bella Ig

2004 since the Bella IG a registered association with the purpose of enabling the preservation, restoration and care of historic scooters from the Zündapp works.

The Bella-IG was founded in 1984 by two Bella enthusiasts. Together with its sister clubs in Great Britain and North America, it now has over 250 members. The "Bella Family" runs a colorful club life with the club magazine, forum, supply and replenishment of Bella parts and the annual Bella meeting organized by IG members in different regions.

Hidden power

Not only because of the local proximity, we have a particularly good relationship with the club founded in 1990 as Hidden Power Scooter Club Hagen. It emerged from the Hagen Modvereinigung, which was founded in 1986 Volme Parka Society Hagen.
The custom shows organized by Hagen at the beginning of the 2000s set standards that we were happy to use as a guide. With the holidays in
Sauerland, the HiH then also set standards in the run calendar.

Celtic Roller Club

Another traditional club from northern Germany whose club stand made us very happy. Founded in 1994 and always at the forefront. At the custom show, the guys across from our bar served ice-cold circulatory stimulants on the rocks with their Jägermeister machine. There were also three trophies for the scooters they brought along.

Lambretta Club Espana

Felix is a real jack of all trades and as such also president of the Spanish Lambretta Club! Words are really not enough to describe his zest for action and inventiveness! At our weekender he threw himself on the stand of the Spanish Lambretta Club, offered his wonderful book about the Serveta / Lambretta production in Spain and let the small 45s circling out of his record cases on both nights.

Lambretta Club Germany

Lambretta Club Germany gives you SX appeal. If we have to explain, you wouldn't understand! The usual sympathetic appearance, here in the picture parts of the always cheerful former board member.

Spirit of Scooterist 84

Marieke and Marcus have been hyper-active in the German and English scooter scene since the 84s. The '90' in the name refers to the year the Scooterboy cult exploded and has grown in popularity since the XNUMX's. As the organizer of Scooterist Meltdown they have established an international event completely outside of the well-known run calendar in February. Registrations are open ;-)

Half past the bar

…is in the Scooterszene is a popular slogan to meet friends and like-minded people at an open time on a run or niter and toast together with a cold drink. The resulting organization of the same name takes care of scooterists who have had an accident and – in the worst case – their dependents who are in need. Because some will never be at the bar again at half past.

Vandalizing drool heads Ostholstein

One of the first clubs in Germany. Founded in Lübeck in 1986, they started a run on Pentecost that same year, which was based on the English rallies and became a complete success and the start of a movement. Here, too, the club could probably equip a complete custom show alone with the club's own scooters.

Vesbeachy

Vesbeachi is the all-brand tin scooter meet-up on the beach. The Jelto organizes this and it was a super popular meeting right from the start. The second round will be held at the beginning of October on the beach of Beachclub Nethen and, by popular request, will be extended by one evening. He advertised the Vesbeachi a little with us and if you don't have your tickets yet, you can get help here -> http://www.vesbeachi.de/

Vespa Club Germany

The Vespa Club of Germany eV (VCVD for short) has been around for almost as long as the Vespa has been inspiring the world.
The oldest Vespa clubs in Germany were founded in 1950. The voluntary Vespa Club of Germany is the umbrella organization of the official German Vespa clubs. If you add up the number of drivers organized there, then the Vespa Club of Germany represents the
Interests of over 4.000 Vespa friends and is therefore one of the largest brand clubs in Germany, so we were happy about the visit of the VCVD.

Vespa boys Colonia

The Vespa Jungs Colonia are an association of Cologne Vespisti who tackle joint activities related to Vespas. The group is really big and the trips together are legendary.

VJC Fb

Shaggy Zossen

The Zottel Zossen Scooter Association has been around for 33 years and they have set up a number of runs, nighters and custom scooters during this time. You could probably easily set up your own custom show with their customs. That's not the only reason why it was a great honor for us that they came with a lot of cutlery and set up the two largest club stands together with the playroom.

Scooter Nova

When Andy told us about his plan to publish a print magazine at the Eurolambretta 2016 in Geiselwind, we frowned. And they were completely wrong. ScooterNova has firmly established itself as an independent scooter magazine. ScooterNova Magazine is mega-appealing both in terms of content and aesthetics. The focus is on Lambretta and Vespa scooters, but occasionally there are also reports on DKR, Ducati, IWL, Maico, Moto Rumi, Peugeot, Zundapp and other old scooters. Patrick tells us a little about what this great event was:

“From Gourlizon, if it rains, we go to Douarnenez to have lunch at a member of our scooter club's restaurant, where we are on the road with 38 motorcycles due to the bad weather forecast and drive to the sea at Penhors in the afternoon. On Sunday morning we ride 80 km along the sea towards “La pointe du raz”, stop in Audierne and eat at the “taverne des troll” in Pont Croix, during the meal we go up to the prizes of the rally, best route the street.

Have a very good weekend, thank you Scooter Center for the goodies!”

Thank you Patrick and greetings to all friends of: Vsck Vespa Kemper

My adventures are not only related to the Vespas, but this time to their little sister: the mopeds.
In an impromptu plan, I accompanied some members of the technical team from Scooter Center: Marc, Frank and Roland test their Ciaos on the Moped festival 2022 by Iron Mofa.
Platonika would stay parked because I had to drive in a real vehicle! And I couldn't get a better backseat than the Flatliners boys tandem!
Not knowing what to expect, I set up cameras and we embarked on an adventure that turned out to be a lot more fun than I imagined.

It was fun to see so many bad boys in these little vehicles, but above all, as always, to meet wonderful people full of good humor.

Hello tandem:

The reason for the construction of this tandem is special, as are the components that make it possible Scooter Center managed to create this rarity!

The tandem is driven by a Polini speed engine with one DR Evo cylinder farms.
As a further tuning measures were a 13/13 carburetor with one SIL Tech Venturi and a Malossi air filter installed.
The exhaust gases are through a Gianeli Ori Power derived.
The landing gear was through the Shock absorber holder from MMW and the bgm ProF16 shock absorbers upgraded.
Due to the increased load on the axles, the normal front axle bearing was replaced by a MC Proparts Front axle kit replaces + socket set

But it wouldn't be the only distinctive feature I would see at this meeting:
The motor of this Ciao comes from a cut-off grinder for railroad tracks.

Munich Vespa Club

Exit

During my visit to Robin Davy I took the time to get to know the city of Munich better, but it's not a complete trip without a Vespa ride!
So the good Mitschl Kelle lent me his Vespa T5 and organized a wonderful trip with Vespa Clubs from Munich, who met in front of the impressive architecture of the Königsplatz.

I ran lucky enough to have members from three of the most representative clubs in Munich and more broadly Germany participating in the round:

With a long tradition since the 50s and resumed in 2013, the Vespa Club Munich deals exclusively with Vespas that correspond to the classic origin of the first hour.

The Vespa Cowboys Germany was founded in 2013 and already had 2018 connected countries in 14 with a great sense of community. Even Colombia, my home country, has its chapter Vespa Cowboys Colombia.

And with the performance of historical Vespa acrobatics: the Vespa classic car friends Munich which both Robin Davy and Kelle belong to and whose show I was lucky enough to see at the Vespa World Days in Celle 2017.

And in case you're wondering what it's like to ride with the members of the Vespa Oldtimerfreunde München who are part of the acrobatics team...

Standing man on a red Vespa

As always, it's a dream to share my hobby with such nice people and see their wonderful scooters, plus I'm very honored because it's not very common for clubs to organize rides together.

Thanks guys and see you next time!!!

Rovin Davy and Maryza

I had the opportunity to meet one of the biggest Vespa collectors in Germany and maybe even in the world!: Robin Davy's Vespa collection.
And he's on the today Scooter Center Couch, in this exclusive video, like no other, he tells us the details of his collection, the amazing stories behind each find.
As a Vespa fan, I'm totally fascinated, not just by the Vespas, but by all collectibles related to the Vespa community.
Here's a video you shouldn't miss!

Robin Davy's Vespa collection

The collection is full of treasures because, as he says, the value of his collection is not in the quantity but in the incredible quality of these unique pieces. It's nice that both are more than adequately represented in Robin's collection.

Today Robin opened the doors of his museum and home to us and we from Scooter Center are infinitely grateful for wonderful joint projects.

The Lambretta Club Sardinia organized the 28th edition of the national meeting in eastern Sardinia, precisely in Ogliastra, a destination that all scooter riders, around 600 participants, enjoyed during these three days in May in the company of a crystal clear sea and great mountains.

Mateo sent us some impressions of this big event in one of the most beautiful landscapes in Italy! Thank you Mateo!

YSN Vs Dellorto

With us scooter drivers, the tried and tested is popular. Mainly because there is often a wealth of experience with established components that can be drawn on. This also includes the Dellorto carburettors in the PHBH design, which have been known for decades. Hundreds of empirical values are circulating for this carburettor, which can be helpful when adjusting for a wide variety of engine concepts.

Unfortunately, Dellorto has not devoted itself to the production of carburetors as usual in recent years and the popular fuel atomizers are only sporadically available.
Of course, it is only a matter of time before the seemingly anachronistic mixture conditioners fall victim to cutbacks at Dellorto and are thus completely put out of production.

In order to satisfy the demand for the popular PHBH carburetor, another source had to be found.

One of these sources is called YSN. The manufacturer from the Far East bowed to the original and resurrected the PHBH.

Like probably many of you, I am always a bit skeptical when it comes to replicas of original parts. Especially with carburetors. After all, manufacturers of other derivatives have shown in recent years how it is not possible and you screw up a bag full of problems on your beloved vehicle that you would not have without this component.

The PHBH 28 was the first carburetor that YSN produced in this design. At the time, we ran a few tests with this carburetor to find out what we might let loose on our customers.

To do this, we compared a Dellorto PHBH 28 to a YSN 28. The Dellorto was tuned on an engine and the tuning on that engine has been ridden on the road for many miles and has proven itself.

In order to be able to compare the design of the YSN one-to-one, all relevant components from the Dellorto carburetor have been transferred to the YSN carburetor after the comparison run on the test bench. So slide, nozzle needle, mixing tube, adjusting screws, float, float needle, auxiliary, main and choke nozzle.

So if the YSN PHBH does anything differently than the Dellorto PHBH due to its design or manufacturing, then that effect would be seen on the performance measurement graph and experienced on the road.

When comparing the two runs directly, nothing was seen - no difference in behavior; which is pretty good. The test drive with the YSN on the road was also unremarkable - so that's good too.

The comparison, i.e. the components with the same specifications from the YSN carburetor implanted in the Dellorto, brought the same result. So we know that both the components used by YSN and the carburetor itself are the Dellorto template and don't cause confusion.

Enriched by this wealth of experience, we have decided to include YSN carburetors in our range.

Soon after, we sent an inquiry to the manufacturer as to whether they could also offer the coveted PHBH with a 30mm passage.

It took a while, but finally samples of the 30mm carburetors arrived.

As with the 28mm PHBH from YSN, I took a close look at the sample of the 30mm version.

Of course, the testing of the samples also includes collecting and documenting all data.

While the 28 YSN works perfectly, the 30 YSN had some teething problems. In addition to various small things such as the wrong mixing tube, a wrong choke nozzle, open channels which disabled the choke and the engine then does not start when cold and float needles that were not spring-loaded, there was the problem that the slide could not be opened completely. The pattern of the 30 carburetor only allowed a slide opening of 28,5mm.

While the YSN30 carburetors were already being traded elsewhere with the lower passage and the problems listed above, after a few contacts with the manufacturer we decided to cure the teething troubles.

Identifying and fixing the open channels in the choke system only required an email and two pictures.

We had to do more to solve the problem with the slider. A total of 3 samples of the carburetors with different approaches have gone back and forth between Taiwan and Germany. We sent an original Dellorto PHBH30 and Dellorto mixing tubes and float needle valves to YSN as a sample and after almost 4 months of sample tests, Skype appointments and waiting times, the YSN30 carburetor was just as we had imagined.

We then tested the final sample of the 30mm YSN carburettor in the same way as the 28mm PHBH before and we came to the same conclusion again. The curves run congruently and the engine runs unobtrusively when driving and without any difference to the Dellorto PHBH30.

When ordering the 30 carburetor, we also decided to equip the carburetor according to our specifications.

  • Idle jet 55
  • Main jet 125
  • Mixing tube AS266
  • Jet needle X2
  • Choke jet 70
  • Float needle valve 250
  • cable choke

We deliberately selected this equipment based on experience, as it gives us a very good starting point with many engines.

With many engine concepts you start with a usable set-up for the first test drives and the necessary changes are limited to a few tweaks to the nozzle box.

At 250, the float needle valve is significantly larger than in the series and covers a wide range, which extends to the use of a 190 main jet. We cannot recommend a larger float needle valve over 300 in relation to the usual concepts with shifting scooters. The high weight of the large float needle and the large bore often require a completely different set-up in the lower partial load range; concerning the slider, needle and mixing tube. If a fuel pump is used, the float needle valve should never be larger than 280. The pressure generated by the fuel pump can otherwise simply push open the float needle valve and cause the carburetor to overflow or lead to ambiguous results when tuning.

Usually, the YSN30 requires main jets in the 120 to 150 range. The basic equipment with the 250 float needle valve also offers other concepts significant security.

On our test engine with 62mm king shaft and 244 Quattrini, [link to blog], for example, one of these YSN carburetors also ran. Here the carburetor cross-section was sufficient for a power output of over 40 hp.

So it's still there - the well-known but new companion - PHBH30

An old friend of Scooter Center was here. Sebastian Alvarez from Argentina, he came especially for EuroLambretta 2022 in Belgium and Euro Vespa Days in Portugal and now that he was around he decided to stock up on spare parts for his shops, learn more about the facilities at the Scooter Centers to find out and to visit us.

And of course I had to be there to tell him all about it in his native language Scooter Center and Cologne to explain!!!

History of Vespa and Lambretta in Argentina

but we also took the opportunity to learn a little more about the incredible history of Vespa, Lambretta and the very special one: Siambretta in Argentina, because it is one of the South American countries with the longest Vespa and Vespa Club history, and how could different when the Vespa is represented by a legend: Juan Manuel FANGIO, the Argentine racing driver considered by experts as one of the most outstanding professional drivers in world motorsport of all time, having won five world titles in Formula 1.

With so much luck, Sebastian had access to beautiful treasures from his customers, like this piece with original papers signed by Fangio:

The origin of the Siambretta in Argentina begins in the 1950s, with the SIAM company, which imported all the parts, but then started building under the name: SIAM-Lambretta, the desire then took the name: siambretta, the success was such that it started production quite nationally.

The curious thing about the Siambretta is that the most famous models in Argentina were exactly the oldest Lambretta models, while in Italy the 200, 175, 150, etc. are the most "common" Lambrettas, while in Argentina the 125 was very successful. In Argentina there are circles of “siambreteros” who own motorcycles admirable for their level of originality.

Restauraciones Extremas - Official Dealer Scooter Center in Argentina

and Restauraciones Extremas are part of this important history in Argentina, reviving ancient beauties. Here are some examples of the "extreme restorations" he's done and some of them are possible thanks to the new parts he's from Scooter Center got.

Siambretta 125 LD and Siambretta TV175

Congratulations for such dedicated work, nice to see how everyone in the Lambretta world knows each other and forms a nice community, have fun in the EuroLambretta and thank you Sebastian for visiting us, you are always welcome You can do more of his work see here: instagram.com/restauracionesextremas/

About AROUND HALF AT THE BAR we have already reported. Sitting in the middle of the network Daniel drescher and has the overview and coordinates the campaigns and fundraising for the worst case scenario throughout Germany.
We have been trying to support him in this for some time and are deeply impressed by Daniel's tireless commitment.

Yesterday David Batschi from Hamburg visited us, who luckily had a guardian angel with him on tour on May 1st, 2022. At around 100 km/h on the Autobahn, David's shock absorber mount broke and he went over the handlebars, slid over the road and was braked by the crash barrier. With incredible luck in the misfortune, he "only" broke four ribs and his foot in two places and also suffered a concussion and a few minor injuries.

About a month after his accident, David visited us and the shop den 200 € voucher redeemed by Um Halb at the Bar eV. We are enthusiastic about David's good mood and cheerful nature and of course also about the fact that - thanks to a good full-face helmet and a good motorcycle jacket - nothing more happened to him. The David shopping list included a front bgm shock absorber  and a new one Shock absorber/brake caliper mount

Nice to see that David coped with the accident so well and is now on his way to the Scooter dive from Filthy & Sly at a hunt.
No matter where you drive at Pentecost, at the Scooter Dive, at the Eurolambretta in Belgium, the Vespa Alp Days in Austria or with the 2 Men from Linz on the Rhine drive carefully and have fun!!

Tourism and Vespa is a social media network for all Vespa, Lambretta, scooter riders and other nice people!
We were allowed to be a part of the last show and had the opportunity to report firsthand what it's like to work in a scooter shop. So we could see a face behind the surface of the customer scooter-center.com give.

Our friends from Lambretta Locomociones also shared the set and they told us a little more about their great book EIBAR LAMBRETTAS 1954 - 1989 - by Jaime de Prat Salomone.

Among the guests were Vincent from RepuestoVespa and Rocío from Recambio's Scooter Pasión from Madrid. I was glad to finally meet them as they are also a distributor of many SC items.
I also took the opportunity to welcome you as an exhibitor and visitor to the Scooterist Weekender Cologne on September 2nd and 3rd.

The video is mainly intended for our Spanish speaking audience or for those who want to study Spanish intensively ;)

Have fun watching the video!!

Every journey is a potentialVespa trip“ And that can certainly not be any different in my home country. The Vespa scene in Colombia is simply fantastic!
After three and a half years I met again with my dear Vespa friends, the Vespa Club Bogota and my Vespa.
And just like in Germany, it's nice to see scooters on every corner.

Vespa friends

But I had to divide my short time wisely between my hobby and my family, so I'm with our 2T environmental movement© “Mi Heart late in 2 Tiempos” (My heart beats in 2 beats) called for a trip to meet as many Vespa friends as possible.

Exit to Boyacá

Nevertheless, I almost thought I would bump into “another Vespa scene in Colombia” at the meeting point. I was really surprised what has happened in almost 4 years.
In general, clubs in Colombia have reduced their activities during the pandemic and I have a lot of new faces,"new blood” seen with modern Vespas.

The distances in Colombia are very different than in Germany, our casual trip took 12 hours and was only 258km long. Geography, thousands of ways to make a stop, plus the thousands of other "breakdowns" that can occur with our vintage Vespas all play a big part.

Especially in a country where spare parts are an ocean away, although one of our official dealers: Super Motori solved it very well and I delivered merchandising to them and we raffled off vouchers.

My Colombian Vespas: Vespertine & La Pelada

It's time to get my Vepas in order:

So my collection, distributed in boxes and such, has now found a nice place, unfortunately still in Colombia. All my Vespa treasures didn't fit in the suitcase :( Same story with my half half Vespa.

The story is different with my “running Vespas”, the “golden years” of the “Vespertine” are over, and “La Pelada”, my Rusty/Rat project, is getting a little more rust every day, but the important thing is that I can drive them and this is what happened after @Migue's lovely care.

Of course, this resulted in some small adjustments that I had to fix with some “temporary” fixes along the way.

Hello Colombia!

I will miss you as I have always missed you.

Here you can read more about my story in Germany with the dreamPlatonica read

Video Tutorial

Many bgm innovations were part of our Platonica project, in this video you can see them Disc brake and the brake caliper mount im bgm Tutorial.

Tutorial SC – New brake caliper mount bgm Vespa PX

Our professional brake caliper mount from bgm PRO Made in Italy: Allows the assembly of the radially mounted BGM PRO 4-piston brake caliper, which enables braking values at motorbike level with fine dosing.

VESPA OR LML?
The brake caliper mount is available for Vespa or LML. The difference between the two types lies in the different dimensions of the speedometer drive. The selection of the right adapter therefore depends on the existing/used brake drum (Piaggio or LML).
Examples:

  • A Vespa PX (1985 model) that was subsequently converted to disc brakes with a Grimeca retrofit kit requires the PX adapter.
  • A Vespa PX (1985 model) that was subsequently converted to disc brakes with an LML fork requires the LML adapter.
  • A Vespa PX Disc (1998 model) requires the adapter type Vespa PX.
